On the other side,  there goes Simon Atkins, A good-looking, happy-go-lucky guy who's been very passionate to his sport, Basketball, and on that same day, at 12 in the afternoon, Simon's gettingr ready for his Basketball pratice for a league within their exclusive subdivision around the metro. Suddenly his cellphone rang in the middle of his preparation, It was his mom Elsa who's a heat surgeon, calling... 

"Yes, Mom?" Simon answered "Hello anak, Do you have plans for today?" Elsa asked, she was in her clinic in Makati med "Ah, Oo eh. I have a practice today for the upcoming league. Why?" Simon asked while putting his shirts in his addidas sports bag "Ganun ba, Well, I was just wondering if you want to apply for medicine school na today, I can leave the clinic early if ever" Elsa said, after Simon graduated college with the course his Mom told him to take up which is Bs Bio, She's been consistently convincing Simon to proceed to Medicine school to be just like her, but Simon doesn't really have any plans to go on Med school.

Simon sighed "Mom I thought we've talked about this na the other day."

"I know son, pero the early the better. Ayaw mo nun, by the age of 26, you'll be a professional doctor na" Elsa advised "pero sige, whenever you're ready basta promise me you'll  be in Medicine school in a few months time, okay?" Simon shook his head, having no choice, he answered "Yes mom, I will. pero please, not too early as I've told you, I just want a little time for myself for the mean time at alam ko you understand."

"Yes of course my dear. O sige na, have fun on your pratice, I love you son" 

"I love you too, mom. Thank you" Simon replied and hit the end button on his cellphone. 

After that short phone conversation, Simon get back on what he's doing but  with just a few minutes,  another call followed. *Tita Fina, calling...* He read on his phone, It was her not-in-good-terms girlfriend Sam's mom. and Simon already knew what her call's upto, to convince or either talk about his relationship with her daughter, Just  a month ago, Simon broke up with her girlfriend Sam  when he found out that she was flirting with somebody else while she was having a vacation in the Singapore, For Simon, they were over, but for Sam, they are still together because she cannot afford Simon to leave her just like that. 

"Hello?" Simon finally answered as for the usual. "Hi Simon, It's your tita Fina! how are you? I haven't been calling you for a week na ata. Kamusta naman ang soon to be son-in-law ko?" Fina said sounding happily over the phone.

"I'm good tita" He replied "I know why you called, kay Sam po ulit to, right?" 

"Well, yes, Simon" Fina responded "Mamayang 2pm ang arrival niya sa NAIA from Singapore" 

"Today?" He asked, surprised. "Yes, Hindi niya pinasabi, Sam wanted to surpise you. and um, I wish you can fetch her from the airport, may business meeting kasi ako in a bit." Fina lied, she just made up the excuse to convince Simon to fetch her up as what Sam wanted "Tita, may basketball pratice po ----"  "Please, Simon" Fina interrupted cutting what Simon's saying "hindi naman ako iba sa'yo hindi ba? I'm like your second mother. and Sam's very special to you. Sige na, Please?"

and again without any choice, He agreed. "Fine. I'll fetch her at  2pm. Hatid ko na lang po siya sainyo."  

"Thank you Simon! and oh, please don't hurry ha? You can have late luch together, spend the time with each other kasi alam kong miss niyo ang isa't isa. Okay? Thanks again. Bbye Simon, drive safely!" Fina said not letting Simon interrupt her, She then hung up happily. 

Around, 1:15pm, Simon's ready.  he called up his cousin and best bud Rico to come with him. 

"Ano? Ngayon darating? As in?" Rico surprisingly asked when he heard about where they're going. "You heard me right, pare.As in ngayon. In just a minute" Simon said while carefully driving his white toyota monterosport with his cousin along the avenue "Sabi ni tita Fina, She wanted to suprise me daw."

Rico laughed "Na surprise ka nga tsong. Ang kulit ng trip nun ah. at ikaw, pumayag ka naman." 

"E ano pa bang magagawa ko? mamaya kasalanan ko pa if nobody fetch her from the airport." Simon said. 

"Wushuu" Rico teased, laughing "Mahal mo parin kasi Sam, pare"

"Ewan ko sayo Rico. Alam mo, Believe it or not, It takes a while for me to move on sa ginawa niya. You see, it's just one month ago pero I've fully realize hindi ko na siya mahal and there's no way I will, ever again." Simon explained while his eyes busy on the directions."Oo nga, napansin ko nga ang bilis mo maka recover, it's like wth one snap (Rico doing a thumb snap movement) biglang wala ka na talagang feelings, besides, you've been together for more than a year, o hindi biro yun diba"

"Exactly. pero pare you've been there all this time at nakita mo naman kung gaano kalawak pasensiya ko kay Sam, diba? siya na nga tong babae, siya pa yung nagloloko and you know what, when she went to Singapore, I had that feeling na matatapos na tong lahat kasi alam ko na since malayo siya, mas may kalokohan siyang magagawa, and all of a sudden, BOOM. I was right, and it came just in time that I'm ready to let go. Kaya, I'm just doing this for the sake of friendshi" He said.  

Rico applauded giggling as if it was an Oscar speech. "Very well said my cousin!" The cousins laughed and continue driving to their destination. 

They finally arrived at NAIA at quarter to 2. Rico and Simon waited in the waiting area inside and by exactly 2:06pm, The plane from Singapore finally arrived according to the airport's announcer.  the cousins's eyes were already looking around, finding Sam. and by just a second, they saw her walking towards the waiting area with the push cart of her baggages, she was wearing a black tube mini dress and a 4 inch high heels, her shiny black hair tied on a ponytail. 

Sam has spotted Simon and hurriedly run towards him. "Simon!" she exclaimed and hugged him tightly. "wait Sam" Simon said removing Sam's tight arms around him "glad you're back" 

"Aww. Thanks babe. I knew you'll fetch me. Let's have lunch together!  tamang tama, I'm so hungry! Tara? (She faced Rico) Lets go Rico?" Sam asked smiling.

"It's fine with me. ewan ko diyan kay Simon" 

"Of course it's fine with Simon as well! right babe?" 

Simon nodded choiceless. 

"Good! let's go!" Sam said and put Simon's arm around him.

And the three of them drove to the nearest resto to have lunch.
