The sun shone through the window of Beast’s dorm, on an early Friday morning. The six boys slept peacefully, knowing school was cancelled for a teacher work day. They didn’t plan on doing much of anything. Their Appa had a schedule to keep so they figured they’d have a peaceful day to relax.

Peniel snuck into the Beast bedroom, careful not to wake the boys just yet. He tiptoed in, causing Saja to stir and glance down at the caretaker from Yoseob’s bed. Peniel just watched the sleeping boys for a moment before a smirk appeared on his face. Now to test my theory. He reached into his pocket pulling out a silver whistle, and his lips. After taking a deep breath Peniel blew hard into the small object and side stepped as various objects were hurled at him from the six bunks.

“Wake up boys! Not much time! Come on! Get up! Get up!”

“Appa~” Yoseob whined. “It’s still morning.”

Junhyung glared at him through half closed eyes. “There better be a good reason for waking us up.”

“No time to explain. Get up and get dressed,”

“Appa! It’s a day off! Why are you even here?” Dongwoon complained, his eyes still closed.

“You guys are just being lazy.” Peniel chuckled and ran over to the boys’ beds , ripping the blankets away from the members on the bottom bunks. “Come on! Get up already. We gotta get on the road!”

“The road?” Yoseob asked from the bunk above Kikwang’s. “To where?”

Peniel picked up the napping Hyunseung. “No time to explain!” He carried the dancer and threw him into the bathroom. “Come on! Get up already!”

The boys were too tired to argue anymore. They each climbed out from their beds as Peniel threw them all clothes. He waited while the the two oldest took their showers and watched all the other members brush their teeth. He helped the weary Kikwang put his shirt on correctly before making each of the boy’s beds. He struggled to get Saja into the extra large cat kennel the boys had forced him to buy. After sucuming to several painful scratches, he closed the door to the cage.

Dongwoon and Yoseob both stared at their sad, adopted pet before Peniel pulled them away. He gave Dongwoon his extra large backpack and hurried each of the boys to put on their shoes before rushing them out of dorm. After piling them into the van, Peniel drove off without speaking a word of their destination.

“Where are you taking us, Appa.” Yoseob spoke, rubbing his eyes.

“It’s a secret,” Peniel spoke with a smirk.

“Yah! Appa!” Yoseob whined before pausing as his stomach growled.

Peniel giggled. “Alright. Just a second.” As the caretaker pulled to a stoplight, he reached down to the floor of the front seat. He grabbed six protein bars and tossed them to the children. “That should hold you til now.”

Doojoon caught the bars and passed them out to the other members. They were too tired to complain. Kikwang unwrapped his and finished it in 3 bites. The others took their time eating, trying to figure out Peniel’s intentions. Peniel smiled as he looked through the mirror at the exhausted boys.

“How about some music to wake you up.” He the radio.

He smiled watching the boys finally awakening to SNSD’s Genie.

“Ok, Peniel, now that we’re awake,” Doojoon spoke between bites of his protein bar. “Where are you taking us? Didn’t you have a schedule to keep today?”

“I traded photo sessions with Changsub?”

“Why?” Dongwoon asked.

“You’ll know when we get there.” Peniel answered.

“If we get there,” Junhyung remarked. “Do you even know where you’re going?”

“Of course I do.” He patted a device he had plugged into the dashboard. “I bought a GPS last night. Only cost about 5000 won.”

“That worries me.” Doojoon spoke.

“Cause I got a good deal?” Peniel smirked.

“Turn left at,” The GPS spoke. “Turn left at- recalculating.”

Peniel sighed. “Just needs a second to warm up”

“Turn right in .5 centimeters.”

“WHAT!” Peniel immediately made the next right turn. Slamming the boys into the side of the vehicle.

“Ok. That woke me up.” Hyunseung interjected, rubbing his sore shoulder.  

“Appa!” Yoseob whined.

Peniel hit the GPS. “It’s fine. It’s working.”

“Turn right onto highway and continue for .5 years”

“Do what now?” Peniel narrowed his eyes at the device.

“Recalculating. Make first illegal U-turn into oncoming traffic.”

“What?”

“Recalculating. つぎの交差点に死にます!”

“What! Japanese?”

“Keep driving even if you reach the ocean.”

“That’s it!” Peniel made a sharp turn and pulled over into a nearby parking lot.

“You have reached your destination.”

“NO I HAVEN’T YOU STUPID PIECE OF JUNK!” Peniel pulled the defective GPS and tossed it out the window before sighing heavily. The boys tried hard to stifle the fit of laughter threatening to erupt through their lips.

“That’s the last time I buy electronics from a thrift store clearance bin.”

The boys finally let loose their laughter and Peniel couldn’t help but smile as well. He pulled out his iphone and looked up google maps. After typing in his destination and his current coordinates,  he was finally back on the road. After a few minutes of driving, his eyes lit up hearing one of his favorite new tunes.

“Hey guys have you heard this one yet!” Peniel smiled while turning up the radio. Doojoon and Dongwoon nodded their heads while the others sat blankly.

Junhyung then nodded his head. “Oh Block B’s new song.”

Peniel nodded. “Minhyuk loves it. He plays it constantly around the dorm.” He laughed, bobbing his head. “♪Jinghan nomdeul nawatda ppara bara bap napareul bureora. Eodi mom jom pureo bolkkana? dara dara dacheul nopi ollyeora~Ppeotppeotan momchi bakchideul uri bogo baewo kungchi tachi Rhythm AH!♪”

“♪We bobbin to the music music this song is groovy groovy♪” Doojoon picked up where Peniel left off and the other kids couldn’t help but giggle, seeing their caretaker cut loose for once.

Dongwoon smiled wanting to get in on the fun as well. He didn’t know the song as well as Doojoon or Peniel But he knew enough of the chorus line.

“♪Uye♪”  Both Peniel and the leader erupted. ♪modu nolla eukbak jireuneun geoya~da kkum kkae! barakhae jeomjan tteolji malgo♪

“♪Everthing okey dokey♪” The maknae finally interjected. “♪chamjima geunyang ukhae ukhae Yeah♪”

“♪Amuna da derigo wa Rock and roll!!♪”　The three chimed out in unison. Peniel glanced at the boys through the rear view mirror. Doojoon and Dongwoon were both dancing, while Yoseob watched and eventually picked up on it as well. He loved it when the kids would perform music in the van. It seemed to remind him a bit of his own childhood.

After about an hour, Peniel pulled into a parking lot. “Ok, we’re here.” He parked the car and unfastened his seatbelt before turning to the boys in the back seat.

All six of them were staring out the window, eyes wide. “You’ve gotta be kidding me.” Junhyung finally voiced.

“Nope,” Peniel pulled out seven tickets from his pocket. “I thought you all could use a little fun... Fun that didn’t involve trolling me.”

“Yahoo!” The three youngest chimed in unison before pushing their way out of the van and running toward the gate of their favorite amusement park.

“Yoseob! Kikwang! Dongwoon! Don’t run off too- and they’re already gone.”

“Lotte World? Really Peniel?” Doojoon spoke. “Wasn’t that expensive?”

“Don’t worry about it,” Peniel chuckled. “Just have some fun.”

Doojoon smiled, climbing out of the car, dragging his dazed, 4D friend behind him.

“But Lotte world is for kids!” Junhyung complained.

“And you are?” Junhyung opened his mouth but immediately shut it realizing he didn’t have an argument. “Besides.” Peniel continued. “I don’t think amusement parks are just for kids. I think anyone can have fun here.”

“Peniel. I’m 22 years old! I think I’ve outgrown this place.”

“I think otherwise.” Peniel sighed. “Here. How about if you promise not to complain and try to enjoy yourself, I’ll buy you one coke, every hour as long as we’re here.”

Junhyung’s eyes lit up at the proposal. “Ok deal.”

Peniel then helped Junhyung out of the van and they headed toward the gate.

Upon arriving Yoseob and Dongwoon immediately ran to the ice rink. Neither of them had been skating the in a long time and the idea of sliding across ice strongly appealed to them. After renting their skates, all the boys headed onto the rink, with the exception of Doojoon. Peniel noticed the forlorn leader sitting on the side and decided to go over to him.

“What’s up Doojoon? Are you gonna skate.”

The child shook his head and leaned back onto the bench. “I never learned how.”

Peniel giggled. “Seriously?” Peniel then lifted Doojoon to his feet. “C’mon. Appa’ll teach you.” He laced up Doojoon skates before slowly leading him onto the rink. “Now just don’t let go of my hand.”

Doojoon nodded shyly, using Peniel for support. Kikwang skated passed the two before turning around, skating backwards. “Ahh man! What is this! Penjoon! Dooniel!” He laughed causing Doojoon to shoot him a death glare.

“Lee Kikwang! You’re gonna get it-” Doojoon leaned forward, nearly falling, but Peniel caught him before he could topple over.

“Ignore him. Just see what happens.” Peniel calmed the angry leader. They both watched as the laughing 7 year old skated backwards until he crashed into the side of the rink. They both started laughing and Dongwoon skated up to him trying to pull him to his feet, only to fall down as well.

Junhyung and Yoseob were skating together, telling jokes and skating in rhythm with the music from the speakers, while Hyunseung started his own one-man ice show in the center of the ring.

“Show off,” Doojoon muttered under his breath and Peniel chuckled. Doojoon didn’t notice that Peniel had let go of his hand and he was balancing on his own.

“That’s it, Doojoon. It’s not that hard.” Peniel smiled at the little leader.

Doojoon looked down at his feet and smiled. “Hey! I’m doing it! I’m skating.”

“If you can call it that, Yoon Leadah!~” Kikwang said as he skate passed the two again. Dongwoon face palmed and the cocky second grader collided with Junhyung on the side of the rink, causing the rapper to drop his can of coke over the railing. .

A dark aura seemed to be emanating from Junhyung as he turned toward Kikwang. “Run. Now.”

Kikwang skated off as fast as he could before Junhyung proceeded to chase him.

“Clean up, ice rink.” Yoseob yelled happily.

After skating, the boys rode every ride they could see, from the carousel to the giant swinging ship. The six boys teamed up against Peniel on the bumper cars, colliding with him every chance they got. They rode the “Adventures of Sinbad” ride, eyes filled with wonderment. Even Junhyung could admit to having a good time.

When they got to one of the roller coasters, Kikwang, Yoseob and Dongwoon were all too short to ride. The older kids climbed on while the younger scowled.

“Can’t you make an exception! Just this once!~” Yoseob begged using his best Aegyo.

The worker was unaffected as he pushed Yoseob back. “Sorry kid. You’re too short. Maybe next year.”

Yoseob pouted as Kikwang snuck behind the worker and jumped onto his shoulders, covering his eyes with his hands.

“Get off of me kid! Where is this child’s parents!”

Yoseob and Dongwoon both ran over to the ride getting themselves strapped in. Peniel ran over to Kikwang and pulled him off of the worker before bowing in apology. Kikwang smirked pointing to the ride, as it started with both Dongwoon and Yoseob on board.

Peniel facepalmed himself before turning to look at the smirking Kikwang. “You do realize that you’re the only one who didn’t get to ride it, right?”

Kikwang’s smile faded. “D’oh!”

After several more hours in the park the boys settled for lunch. They were banned from a couple of rides for causing mischief but didn’t care. Dongwoon yawned and leaned against the black haired leader as he ate his sandwich. Yoseob munched a churro as he excitedly prepared to ride the outdoor rides. Junhyung was drinking what had to be his eighth coke of the day while Kikwang snuck fries from Hyunseung’s plate. Peniel walked over to the boys with a rack of soft serve ice cream.

“Alright!” Yoseob tossed his churro over his shoulder and grabbed the rack, passing the ice cream out to everyone.

“Hey, Appa. Why did you decided to bring us here anyway?” Hyunseung questioned taking a cone into his hand, before turning to Kikwang. “And I swear Kikwang, take one more fry and you’ll be eating it through a straw.”

Kikwang jumped back at the 4D boy’s threat before proceeding to climb up onto the surrounding bricks of the nearby fountain. “Geez, Seungie. Sorry.”

“Well,” Peniel started taking a of his cone. “I guess I just. Wanted to thank you guys.”

“Thank us?” All six said in unison.

Peniel snickered behind his cone before continuing. “For helping me so much. BtoB’s booming and, I wouldn’t be where I am if it wasn’t for you all. I know our relationship is awkward and all, and believe me, I want to get you back to normal as soon as I can but... while you’re like this,” Peniel sighed, trying to find the right words.

Truth is, he was starting to become a bit conflicted. He missed Beast. He missed the six of them performing and working hard as their seniors, but at the same time, he liked being a father to the children. He liked taking the boys to school in the morning and goofing around with them in the afternoon. He liked listening to them sing along to their favorite music in the car, and sneaking into Cube to dance with them in the studio. He knew he couldn’t possibly keep them as kids forever but the time they spent was valuable to him.

“Peniel?” Doojoon looked up at his caretaker and smiled.

Peniel smiled back. “Let’s just enjoy the time we have together.” Doojoon nodded in agreement.

The boys smiled enjoying their soft serve cones.

“Wait!,” Kikwang called out spoiling the moment. “Does that mean we stop trolling him? That’s not fair! I never got to come up with any good trolls! When do I get my turn? When do I-”

Junhyung cut him off by shoving his cone into Kikwang’s mouth. Kikwang fell backward into the fountain and the other Beast boys rolled their eyes. “”Man overboard.” Junhyung said smugly.

“Saw that coming.” Peniel walked over to Dongwoon, ping his extra large backpack. He pulled out a pair of cargo shorts in Kikwang’s size and a Lotte world T-shirt. He then zipped the bag back up and pulled the dancer from the fountain. “Let’s go get you changed.”

The two of them walked over to the bathroom and the other boys turned to Dongwoon. “Did you pack those?” Yoseob asked.

“I don’t even know anymore.”

“Hey Appa! Look!” Yoseob ran towards a photo booth after several more hours of fun. Peniel was carrying the half sleep Dongwoon on his back while the other members walked alongside him. “Come on! Let’s take a picture!”

“A picture? Really?” Peniel raised his eyebrow. “Do you really want to be captured on film in this state?”

Yoseob pouted and Doojoon chuckled, approaching the photo booth. “Actually, a picture might not be a bad idea. Just something for us to remember this day. Not like anyone’s going to see it but us.”

Peniel thought for a second as Dongwoon jumped down from his shoulders. “I wanna take a picture! This was the most fun ever!”

“I’ll admit.” Junhyung interjected between sips from his red can. “It was a good day.”

Hyunseung turned to examine the booth before smiling. “Hey a photo booth! Let’s take a picture.”

Peniel rolled his eyes.”Welcome back, Hyunseung.” He looked at the booth and smiled. “Looks like I’m outnumbered.” He looked down at Kikwang. “You ok with this, Kiki.”

Kikwang just glanced at the booth before giving Peniel his signature eye smile. Within a second all the boys and Peniel huddled into the booth. Yoseob, Hyunseung and Kikwang all stood on the bench while Peniel stood in the front with Dongwoon. Junhyung and the leader. He prepared the machine to snap seven photos and knelt down to make sure everyone could get in the photo. “Ready everyone.” The boys prepared to do a fun pose for each photo. “1,2,3!”

Peniel returned to the BtoB dorm, late at night. He quietly entered the dorm and typed in the security keypad. It was two in the morning and he figured all of the other members had fallen asleep. He yawned before discarding his shoes and hanging up his jacket. He smiled, picking up his duffel bag and entered the living room, thoughts still abuzz from his day at the amusement park.

“How was Lotte World Hyung?”

Peniel spun around on his heels, surprised to see Sungjae watching him from across the dark room. “Sungjae! W-What’re you still doing up?”

“Waiting for you.” He stood up, placing his hands in the pockets of his pajama bottoms. “Did you have fun at Lotte World?”

“L-Lotte world! What are you talking about?”

“Don’t give me that, hyung. I know you went to Lotte World today. I found the tickets. Seven of them.”

“What! You found the tickets?! Were you snooping through my stuff you little-”

“That’s not the point!!” Sungjae approached Peniel, a serious scowl on his face. “Seven tickets. Yet six BtoB members didn’t go! So you took someone else.” He turned around, to wipe a tear from his eye.

“Is this about me not taking you to Lotte World, I’m sorry. I’ll take you next ti-”

“THIS ISN’T ABOUT LOTTE WORLD!!” Sungjae screamed tears stinging the corners of his eyes. “It’s about you hiding from me Hyung!”

“S-Sungjae...” He reached to wipe his dongsaeng’s eyes but Sungjae slapped his hand away.

“Why can’t you trust me Hyung!” He continued to cry. “It hurts, Peniel! Especially knowing it has to do with our seniors!”

Peniel hung his head seeing how bad he hurt Sungjae. It seemed that every good moment he had with the Beast boys was a moment Sungjae spent worrying about him.

“Why can’t you just tell me, Hyung!” Sungjae paused, wiping his tears. “I’m scared, hyung. I’m scared that... we’re losing you. That you’re hiding something that’ll tear BtoB apart.”

Peniel placed a hand on his dongsaeng shoulder. “Sungjae... I’m sorry... what I did... I mean... what I’m doing...” He shook his head and ruffled his hair furiously. “I don’t want to break us up! I keeping my secret to keep us together.”

“That doesn’t make sense!” Sungjae yelled.

“It will... when I tell you the truth...” Sungjae’s eye widened seeing his hyung nearly in tears. “I messed up, Sungjae.”

“W-what?” Sungjae wiped tears from his eyes, looking at his hyung, about to pour his heart out.

“I’m the reason Beast is missing. Because I made that stupid wish!”

“Wish?”

Peniel bit his lip before taking a deep breath. “I wandered into a gypsy’s store several weeks ago, and keep in mind I was really frustrated that we weren’t as famous as Beast and I was struggling with my dance moves, but I accidently wished that BtoB would have more experience than Beast, and instead of us gaining it, they lost all of theirs and now they’re stuck as children until I can find that stupid gypsy that I’m starting to believe I imagined, and I asked them not to tell because a scandal like this would get me kicked out of BtoB and I JUST CAN’T HANDLE THAT!”

Sungjae blinked as Peniel took several heavy breaths after finishing his long but fast explanation. “W-What?”

“The Beast members have been turned into children because of my stupid wish. I’ve been secretly taking care of them since. They still know who they are and have all their memories. But I asked them not to tell anyone because... I didn’t want to lose everything I worked for. Everything we worked for. Because of a scandal.”

Sungjae stared at his hyung for a moment. “Wow... I didn’t know.”

“Yeah... it’s pretty unbelievable.”

“I didn’t know they sold alcohol at Lotte World. You’re clearly toasted.”

“Sungjae! I’m dead serious!”

“Hyung what you’re saying is impossible. How can six grown men suddenly become children!”

“I have proof!”

“Fine. Let’s see it.”

Peniel reached into his pocket and pulled out the photo taken at Lotte world, handing it to the maknae. Sungjae’s eyes widened as he scanned over the photo. The six elementary school boys all crowded around Peniel. The orange haired main vocal leaning down on Peniel’s shoulders. The black haired leader and the purple haired rapper doing their signature poses on either side of the caretaker, while the red hair 4D prince’s eyes weren’t quite focused on the camera. The main dancer showing off his signature eye smile while giving a peace sign and the happy little Maknae smiling proudly next to Peniel.

Sungjae instantly recognized all of the Beast boys, even in their child forms. He stumbled back in complete shock. “Holy !”
