We were sixteen and you were leaving.

It was already your third flower and all of them had the same results. You sighed irritably as your best friend Fei laughed at your fate.

“ still no luck?” she asked as she tried not to smile, you glared at her.

“ Maybe you should just give up on Luhan?” she suggested and you puffed your cheeks.

“ I can’t” you answered.

“ What if there’s someone out there for you?... Someone better? Come on, were only sixteen! You would find someone else for sure” she assured you.

“ I don’t wanna! I only want Luhan!” you said stubbornly and she laughed at your persistence.

“Okay! I won’t pester you about finding someone else anymore, so... why don’t you just talk to him directly and save all the flowers from trouble?” she asked with a teasing smirk at the end.

She didn’t know how many times you have tried to do that, she came around the neighbourhood when you were ten, and to your surprise, she was the only girl who wasn’t interested in Luhan.

“ I tried...It’s just... I don’t know?” You finished lamely and she gave you an understanding look and pulled you on a hug.

“ ...It’s okay, you will get your chance... when the time comes”

The time wouldn’t come for you, you remarked sadly. You found out from your mom that Luhan’s family was moving the next day.  Luhan’s father got a job overseas and they would have to live there.You didn’t know if they would ever come back.

You didn’t get to sleep that night; you were tossing and turning on your bed thinking of Luhan.

"I may not see him again"

"He’s leaving tomorrow..."

"I won’t see him again..."

"I haven’t told him how I felt yet."

That morning, you got up early with your resolve as hard as steel. You would confess to him today, even if he never comes back and you would never see him again, at least you were able to tell him how you feel.

You felt like you owe yourself and Luhan that much.
