You gripped his coat arm as he made his move, pulling him back with as much strength as you could muster.
"Choi Seunghyun, don't you dare touch that boy! If you have something to say, then you say it to me. Don't go picking on people weaker than you!"
Your anger was reflected in the chirping of the monitor.

You looked like a mother bear out to protect her cubs.
He rounded on you and grabbed your face, pressing his fingers into your bruised cheek.

Lowering his face to yours, he stared into your eyes.
"Talking back now, are we?"
You didn't struggle, didn't give any evidence of pain.
Only glared at him with as much hatred as you could muster.
"You get your hands off me, you... you..."
You started coughing, deep hacking coughs that didn't bode well.
He let go of your face, a look of disgust on his own.
No sooner had he done so than you covered your mouth with your hands, still coughing.
You were doubled over, your shoulders were heaving with the exertion.
A thick red substance dripped between your fingers and onto the covers.
Blood.
Alarms started going off, and your heart rate monitor was going haywire.

Nurses rushed into the room, shouting instructions.
The one who'd let us in glared at us before rushing to your side.
I knew what she was thinking.
You've just signed her death warrant.
We were firmly escorted out of the room, but I could still see you from the open doorway.
You looked at me, eyes wide and pleading.
I couldn't hear you, but I could read your lips.
"M-Mian..."
To my horror, your eyes shuttered closed and you toppled back onto your pillows.
Your hands fell limply to your side, covered with blood.
The last thing I heard before the door slammed shut was a long, drawn-out whine.
