Fall for You

Tao and Kris have known each other for a long time. Kris is an employee in the Chinese Embassy in Seoul and he’s in charge of Tao’s visa papers. Tao had been in Seoul for 3 years and he wanted to renew his visa. It was the time that he met Kris.

“Good Morning, Sir.” Tao greeted. In all honesty, he didn’t want to go there. His hand is already numb thanks to a lot of papers and forms that needed to be signed. But he needs to be here and meet the person in charge of his visa.

Kris looked up from the paper that he’s reading to glance at Tao. “Good Morning, and please, I told you to drop the ‘Sir’ you make me feel so old.”

“Arasso, Kris.’ He replied. It was true though. Kris had been telling him that, but it seemed as if his mind was programmed to call him ‘Sir’ because Kris reminded him of his old high school adviser. Strict, stuck-up, old and rather boring.

Even though Kris is just 3 years older than him, he looks old to Tao’s eyes, all because of the way he dresses. He’s always in a business suit, creaseless and overly neat. Even his striking blonde hair didn’t do much any help, not a single strand is out of place. If only he’s style it up a little. Aside from that, his thick brows are always meeting and there’s a permanent grim line between his lips. He’s just too serious.

‘Doesn’t this man know that he’s wasting the good-looking face God bestowed upon him?’ He could use a smile.’ Tao thought

They started dating a month earlier when they bumped into each other at a restaurant, they shared a table since the place is packed with people.

Tao was busy munching on the spicy dalkgalbi that he ordered a while ago when a familiar streak of blonde hair caught his attention. This man really stands out from the crowd because of his height and hair color. The said man turned around and faced his direction. For a while, Tao thought his breath hitched and his heart did a leap. It was Kris, in all his glorious casual form. Unlike the way Tao always sees him, Kris was clad in denim jeans, gray sleeveless shirt underneath a blue long sleeves. His hair was tousled effortlessly in perfection in contrast to the usual glued-to-the-scalp hair.

They caught each other’s gaze and they just stared at each other in awkward silence.

“Hey Tao.” Kris broke out a smile and Tao’s heart did somersaults.

“Hey Kris.” He replied.

That accidental lunch was followed by several more dates. They started getting to know each other better. Exchanged phone numbers. Have late night calls and texts. Have movie dates. Coffee dates. Dinner dates.

Early Morning jog date…

Tao and Kris decided to rest for a while. They’ve been jogging around the banks of the Han River since this morning. The night before, Kris received a call from Tao, telling him to dress up in a track suit and rubber shoes. He thought that they would just have a little friendly indoor sports game, like tennis and such, he also thought about cycling. He hadn’t expected something like this at all.

He bent over and placed his hands on his thighs as he tries to regain his breath. It was only when they reached the middle of the Banpo Bridge when they agreed to take a break. When his breathing settled, he straightened himself up and looked at his surroundings. The view took his breath away –for the second time that morning. From his position, he could see the panoramic view of the skyscrapers and the flowing water of the Han River.

“Don’t tell me you’re already having a heart attack.” Tao joked, pulling him out of his musings. He stared at the younger as his gray sweatshirt hug his toned frame; how his dark locks stick to his forehead; how the beads of sweat cascade down his face; how his ragged breathing made his chest –ily– rise and drop. For the third time that morning, his breath was taken away.

“And here I thought you’d call 119 for me.” He managed to joke back.

Tao leaned on the railings; half of his body was bent over the steel bars, facing the flowing water meters below. At that moment, Kris’ heart almost jumped out of his chest. He swore it stopped beating for nanoseconds, he doesn’t know if it’s because of fatigue or of Tao’s position. He grabbed his shoulders and pulled him back from the railings. “Yah! You might fall!” he scolded. Tao faced him with a calm but flushed expression. ‘Aren’t you afraid of heigts?”

“Meiyou.”  Tao replied before beaming. “Plus, I’m a good swimmer, I can handle the water.” He said then laughed.

Kris doesn’t know why but this felt like the right moment to kiss him. His brain stopped working and his hands acted on its own. He cupped Tao’s chin and he made him face him. He leaned in closer. The moment their lips met, the battle for dominance started. He won fortunately and he explored him, noting how sweet he tasted. Their need for air broke the contact.

“I’m not afraid of falling.” Tao said as he looked at Kris.

“What?” he asked.

“You asked me if I’m afraid of heights, I said no, that’s because I’m not afraid to fall.” With the kind of voice Tao had said those words, with the kind of gaze Tao shot him, he knew that the younger was referring to something else. Something that he chose to forget a long time ago.

He reached for Tao’s shoulder and made him face the water again. “Well you should be or you’ll fall too deep you might not be able to come back to the surface.”

So.. how was it? I hope I didn't disappoint you. :DDDD btw, I plan on making this a trilogy and I'm battling with myself on what OTP to write next. Say HunHan or Baekyeol? or you could suggest one, EXO OTP's only okaaay??
