The halls were empty as Siwon walked to the office with folders at hand; it was that time of month when he had to report the status of students in his dorm. Most students were out and about enjoying the remainder of the weekend before classes would start the following Monday; sadly, Siwon had work he needed to finish up as mentor for his dorm.

He figured that most of his friends were still asleep; they did have a long night. His eyes then settled to stare out into the school’s courtyard, watching a few of the students walk through. He couldn’t help but smile recalling the times he himself ran across the area trying to get to his class on time. He wished he could go back to those days, when everything seemed so simple.

A sudden figure walked into his line a vision, someone he recognized instantly. The corners of his lips twitched upwards as the figure came closer to the main building, soon forming into a full out grin. Quickly, he ran down the stairs to the first floor skipping a few stairs along the way. When he arrived he slid to the front doors and quickly stood erect before adjusting his clothing.

The student working at the front desk blinked in surprise at the sudden arrival of the notorious mentor, baffled by the large grin on his face as he stood at the doors. It was then that the doors swung open to reveal another male whose face showed utter shock as his eyes landed on Siwon.

“S-siwon?” he asked.

“Hankyung! Surprise to see you here during the weekend at the main building,” Siwon called as he approached the elder student.

“Oh, is it really?’ Hankyung asked still trying to register that Siwon was the one to approach him suddenly.

Siwon would admit, that Hankyung’s confused face was indeed something adorable. Again he failed to notice the grin that seemed to grow whenever the male was around. It was then that he grew curious, wondering why Hankyung would be at school when he could have stayed in his dorm.

“What are you doing here Hankyung?”

“Oh, um well I was just trying to locate my classes so I wouldn’t get lost Monday,” Hankyung admitted, embarrassed as he scratched the back of his neck.

Siwon couldn’t help but chuckle; yes there was no denying that Hankyung was indeed an adorable man by nature. The folders he had to turn could wait until a later time, he reasoned before he took hold of Hankyung’s wrist and began to drag him down a hall. Hankyung who hadn’t been expecting anything, yelped at the sudden tug before he managed to keep up with his so called Mentor.

“What number is your first class?” Siwon asked looking back at Hankyung with a smile.

Hankyung, gulped when he caught the smile. He wasn’t sure why, but his heart sped up even more than it was with the simple contact of their skins. He reached for his schedule, scared to use his voice and offered it to Siwon who gladly took it before studying the class numbers.

The student stood there anxious, wondering why on earth Siwon was going out of his way to help. He didn’t mind, not one bit but he had never met anyone like this man before him. He bit his lower lip as he felt his heart skip a beat when their eyes met again. He swore he died when Siwon offered him a smile.

Hankyung knew it wasn’t normal; it wasn’t normal to feel such a thing for anyone as quick as he had. He forced himself to look away and to his dismay, he caught the eyes of another. With his luck, it happened to be the one male that he had bumped into earlier and been warned about, Kyuhyun. He gulped  as he watched the brown orbs fixate on him while the brunette stood up from the bench he sat on.

However, his vision on Kyuhyun was obscured by a sudden appearance of body in front of him. Siwon had noticed the fixation the brunette had placed upon Kyuhyun and it sent flares of distaste in his body. He quickly took the initiative to step in between them, sending the other student a warning glare and low growl. 

His arm was raised as a make-shift shield in front of Hankyung, who stood behind his mentor in shock. He watched, stiff as a statue, the features on Kyuhyun darken as his eyes focused on Siwon. He felt the tension rise between the two males and the look of utter hatred they shared shook him to the core. His body shook; he did not know the reason for it but it shook, trembled as both males stared at each other with utter disdain. 

There was a history they shared, that much Hankyung could interpret from what he had seen so far and Kyuhyun seemed to be at the center of the warnings his dorm mates had given him. Time seemed to have stopped as neither Siwon nor the other dared to blink. Suddenly, the corners of Kyu's lips rotated up and a devilish grin appeared.

A soft chuckle escaped the brunette and it sent shivers up Hankyung's spine. He did not understand nor comprehend the reasons behind the gentle laugh that originated from the human being he had been warned about. Still, when Kyuhyun opened his eyes, Hankyung could see the hate, the dispair and perhaps even, sadness?

"Still trying to play hero Choi?" the brunette spat, a flash of amusement glowing in his eyes before it dissipated in seconds.

He was answered with yet another growl from Siwon, whose featured hardened even more and his hands clenched into fists. Kyuhyun laughed again, dryly. as he threw his head back before it fell forward again.

"You couldn't help back then; you won't be of any help now," Kyuhyun suddenly retorted; his voice held only a chill from a winter night.

His eyes then settled upon Hankyung and the new student was taken back by the sudden softness in the eyes of the taller male. Hankyung's hand rose and it reached for Kyuhyun suddenly without his consent; he and the brunette (Siwon could not see for his back faced Hankyung) were taken back by his sudden actions. He pulled his hand back immediately to his chest, his heart racing. 

Kyuhyun took the opportunity to send Siwon a final glare and a final glance at timid and baffled Hankyung before he disappeared down a hall to head to an undisclosed destination. Siwon eased and relaxed once the brunette disappeared and whom he sensed was a safe distance away. He turned towards Hankyung, only to frown at the male's appearance.

The student was clearly shaken up, confused and uneasy. Siwon quickly reached out for the oldest, who gasped at the touch, before he made Hankyung look at him directly.

"Are you hurt?" he asked fully concerned for his well being.

Hankyung eased and relaxed, shaking his head in response to Siwon who tried to locate any harm on him with his eyes.

"I'm fine, just a bit...shaken is all," he replied with a small nervous smile.

"Are you sure, I can-" Siwon was cut off.

"No, really Siwon thank you, but I am fine. How about you just show me my classes, please?" 

Siwon smiled, though not fully convinced. He nodded and intertwined their fingers once he reached for Hankyung's hand. The older student was taken a bit back, a blush creeping on his cheeks.

"I promise you Hankyung, I'll help you. I'll protect you," Siwon stated firmly, giving Hankyung's hand a squeeze.

He then tugged the other gently, with the crumpled schedule in his free hand, and guided him to his classes. Hankyung had a smile the entire time and it helped him forget the incident with the dangerous brunette.
