Jonghyun stared down at his hands as he waited. His heart was pounding and he felt disoriented. But he kept himself calm by closing his eyes and remembering.

The classroom door opened and students started filing out. Jonghyung perked up than, scanning to see a familiar face. Someone patted him on the back and he spun around, “Onew!”

Onew was all smiles, and perfectly shaggy brown hair.

 “Hey Jonghyun. Looking for someone?”

Jonghyun stared a bit dazed before nodding, “Actually I’m looking for you.”

Onew nodded, “Okay. What is it?”

Jonghyun swallowed the large lump that seemed to be lodged in his throat. He was staring, and he was wondering and he was scared. He didn’t even know if Onew would have any idea what he was talking about if he said it.

Jonghyun sighed, “Can we go someplace quiet?”

They headed towards the art section of the campus. They entered an art room and Jonghyun closed the door behind him. Onew hopped on one of the tables, feet dangling, “So what is it?”

Jonghyun took a deep breath, and said eyes focused, “I remember a long time ago when you told me that if there was ever a problem that I can always count on you.”

Onew nodded a smile on his face.

Jonghyun bit his lip stepping forward, eyes desperate, hands wringing, “I…I’ve been having these dreams lately. I mean I’ve always had these dreams but never so vivid.”

“Dreams?” Onew cocked his head to the side.

“Yeah. I know I sound really stupid, but I want to know if you’ve been having weird dreams too. At least, recently.”

Onew smiled apologetically, “Well I always have weird dreams, Jonghyun. I think everybody does. Like one time-”

“That’s not what I meant!” Jonghyun yelled.

Onew flinched.

“Hyung, remember when we were little, at the old daycare that they took down in our neighborhood.”

Onew nodded, “ I remember.”

“It was two days before my birthday and we were playing on the swing.” Jonghyun’s eyes were distant as he stared at the far wall, “I thought it was a good idea to see how high we could jump off the swing. I dared you, told you that if you couldn’t do it than you’re not strong. That you’re weak.”

“You told me not to, hyung. And I didn’t listen to you. I wanted to show you how cool I was, how well I was growing up. Because you were the only person that truly cared about me. So I built as much momentum as I could and I jumped. I thought I was flying.” Jonghyun smiled but it disappeared.

He ran his hand through his hair before murmuring, “But I landed on a rock. Gashed my leg and there was blood everywhere. It hurt so bad and I never cried so much in my life..”

Onew eyes were sad, as he murmured, “It began to rain soon after.”

“It did, didn’t it?”

Silence fell between them. Onew looked up and when his eyes locked with Jonghyun’s his heart lurched. They were serious and hard, these eyes. Where had all that desperation go?

“It didn’t stop raining until I stopped crying. Big grey clouds always appeared whenever I felt sad, depressed, useless. It’s almost as if …” Jonghyun’s voice faded, eyes watering.

Onew watched as big tears fell in silence down Jonghyun’s cheeks.

“There’s something wrong with me, hyung.”

And it started to rain.

A/N: I apologize greatly for my nonexistance and slow updating. AND REALLY SHORT CHAPTER (URGH) I've been really busy since the new semester started not to long ago and I'm working part-time on the side. So any time I have any sort of downtime it's either me surfing on tumblr or catching some much needed sleep.

I apologize greatly and this story will still go on(in a rather slow paced sort of way ^^;;). There shouldn't be any reason not to.
