*_____’s POV*

 

Maybe I do have stage fright, can I really do this? All these thoughts just rushed out of my head. What if I mess up, everyone has experience and I’m going to perform and I’ve never done that in front of a crowd. I walked to garden in the backyard, I had to clear my mind someway, and it was too loud to do it inside. It was a beautiful garden even though it was night, there was light like Christmas lights! 

“What brings you out here?” I heard a voice say from behind. I turned my head to see Lay.

“I can’t stop thinking, what if I mess up, or what if my song . It’s my first time performing and most of the people in there have done this so many times.” I explained everything to him and he sat there listening. 

“First off ____, calm down. Really, you will do just fine! Just put your energy when you perform. Think of someone special when you play your song. Think of us! We will cheer you on! Don’t worry about what the others think, just remember you’re doing your best, remember what I told you all you need is confidence.” 

“Lay, you really are amazing! You’re like my angel!”

“Maybe I am.” He gave me a smile placed his hand out

“Let’s go inside?” I happily accepted and we walked back to the ballroom.

When we walked in a slow song started to play.

“Would you like to dance with me my lady?” Lay said bowing.

“Oh why I would love to my good sir” I said curtsying and chuckling.

It was awkward since I didn’t really know how to slow dance but Lay showed me where to put my hands, still it’s embarrassing.

“Now don’t fall in love with me.” Lay said, I couldn’t help but laugh.

“You don’t have to worry much about anything like that” Lay raised an eyebrow.

“Oh really now? You really are an interesting person” Lay said chuckling. 

The song finished faster then I expected.

“Why thank you for the dance, good sir” 

“No problem my lady” Lay said smiling.

“Hey ____ it’s time for you to perform! You should get your guitar, or were you going to use the piano?” Xiumin said walking up to us.

“I just need my guitar, I’ll go get it!” I got my guitar and got ready. Lay walked up to me.

“You can do it! ____ fighting! Just don’t forget, play with confidence.” He and I did a little fist pump.

Lay really is like my guardian angel. 

“I would like to introduce Wu _____, this will be her very first performance. I hope you guys will enjoy!” Kai said. 

Aiyaa my heart won’t stop beating so fast. I don’t know, my stomach were in nots.

“You can do it, confidence.” Lay said pushing me up to the stage.

I took my guitar and slowly walked my way up there. 

“Annyeong Wu ___ imida, my song is in Chinese, but I know most of you are studying mandarin, but just bare with me, also there are translations on the screen.. This song is called Peng you.”

I started the first few notes, I couldn’t help it I got so nervous, I looked at Lay and he smiled and mouthed confidence. With that I started to sing.

I stopped, I couldn’t look up, and before I knew it there was clapping. 

“Whaa~ and that was the amazing _____ with Peng you!” Kai said

I was so happy, I actually did it. I actually performed one of my songs in front of a crowd. 

I walked down the stage.

“Wow, that was amazing _____” Chen said running up to me hugging me.

“Heh, thanks” I couldn’t help but blush a little. “Oh yeah happy birthday!” Chen gave me one of his handsome smiles. 

“____ that was amazing!” Lay said.

“Thanks to my angel’s words I did it.” He chuckled.

“So I’m your angel now huh?” 

“Yup!” We both laughed, this night couldn’t get any better!

“Hey ____ great job, so you finally let other people here you huh?” and I just jinxed myself. This night just went down, I knew that voice, as well as Xiumin’s.. 

“M-m-minho..” Him, Choi Minho, this guy who broke my heart. No, not my first love, we went out but in the end my feelings were just puppy love, but the way he left me and Xiumin was really harsh. The way he left me and Xiumin back then, just because he became popular. The harsh words he said to the two of us, in front of everyone.. His words were always harsh, I trusted him, even with my songs.

“Minho who invited you here?” Xiumin said with an angry voice. 

“I am part of SHINee too you know, and you guys did invite SHINee.”

I quickly walked away. That idiot! Why would he even talk to us again, after all these years?

“_____ walking away wont change anything! You will be mine again!” 

I didn’t want to hear it, I hated him so much. How did I even like a guy like him?

“_____ wait what is he talking about?” Chen said running to me.

“Weird huh, you wouldn’t expect me to have an ex boyfriend. It really wasn’t much though, I wasn’t deeply in love with him, but the way he left me and Xiumin was harsh. Since then me and Xiumin never talk to him again.”

“He was wrong to leave such a beautiful, amazing girl like you.” Chen said pulling me in a hug.

“Thanks, but the past is the past, and the present is what you make of it. So if I make him ruin my future then I’m the idiot.” I gave Chen a smile.

“Still if I was him I would have never left you, I would keep you in my arms like this forever” I couldn’t help but blush.

“T-t-thanks” I said looking down. That’s right I was still hugging him, we quickly stopped.

“____ are you okay?” Xiumin said running up to us.

“Yeah, I have you oppa, and the rest of EXO. I don’t know why he suddenly talked to us again, but it’s fine what bothered me the most was the last words he said when I walked away..” 

“Who knows. Just don’t worry about it.” Xiumin said patting my head.

I couldn’t really let that get to me, because the party was still going on and it’s only 10.. So I’m just going to pretend it didn’t really bother me.

“Wow, ____ you were amazing! That performance was amazing!” some girl said.

“You were very amazing, and really beautiful!” some guy said to me.

All these compliments were too much. Another slow song played again and someone tapped me on the shoulder. I thought it was Lay until I turned around.

“Would you dance with me?” Minho said.

“No” I said coldly and walked away, before I could he pulled me back. Ugh I wish I was stronger.

“Come on just this dance” He said. I tried pulling away but he was just too strong.

“LET GO!” I yelled, still with the loud music no one probably heard me.

“Minho let her go” Chen said

“Not until she dances with me.” He said giving Chen a glare. Chen pulled me away from him.

“Sorry I can’t let that happen” Chen said giving Minho a smile and wink and pulled me away.

“T-thanks Chen” I gave him a smile.

“No problem anything for a girl who wrote me such a wonderful song~ now I just have one more favor, dance with me” he didn’t let me answer and pulled me in to dance.

This guy he really knows how to make girls blush!

“Thank you for the dance!” Chen said.

I gave him a smile and walked back to the garden.

“I knew you would come back here” Lay said sitting on the bench.

“How did you know?” I said laughing.

“Well, for one thing you like it when it’s quite and mostly when your stressed or bothered by something, so as your angel I waited for you right here” he gave me a smile.

“You really are an angel!” I sat down next to him.

“Of course I am, I’m your angel” he said, I couldn’t help but smile at him. 

“You know if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have been able to do that?” He smiled

“I know” I laid my head on his shoulder.

“Thank you” 

 

*Lay’s POV*

I was a bit shocked when she laid her head on my shoulder. 

“Thank you” were the last words I hear before she fell asleep. I didn’t want to wake her up, and frankly she just looked so cute sleeping. I couldn’t help it, I took a picture of us I was doing a peace sign while she was asleep and made it my background for my phone. 

“Today you looked so beautiful, when you were playing up there I just wanted to grab your hand and take you off the stage. I wanted to be one of the few people you played to. When Xiumin told me about Minho I just wanted to punch him for what he did and take you away” I looked at her, I felt my chest tighten up. What is with this annoying feeling?

“It isn’t fair. I want you for myself ____” I don’t get what I’m even saying, I’m probably still in shock from her beautiful performance, but I couldn’t help but say these selfish words. 

“You really are too beautiful for words” 

“Thank you YiXing” she whispered I looked at her, impossible she heard me right? She is out cold. 

“I don’t know what I’m feeling, but I’ll always be here for you _____” 

I felt her shiver so I put my jacket on her and took her inside carrying her bridal style, it was already 1 am so the guest were either leaving or gone. 

“Xiumin are you guys going home? ____ already fell asleep” I said placing her on the couch.

“Ahh, Chen do you think we could stay over the night! I really can’t drive back I’m soo sleepy~” 

“Xiumin think of ____ she doesn't have extra clothes!” I said. Xiumin looked at ____ I knew he couldn’t leave her dressed like that. 

“Yeah true, why did I pick such a dress for her? It’s too short and you see so much skin” Xiumin said. Pabo

“I think she looks hot in it~” Kai said petting _____. 

“Yah, don’t touch her or speak of her like that!” Xiumin said.

“She can just borrow my clothes” Chen said clearing his throat. 

Soon ____ woke up.

“Oh the party is already over? I’m sorry, I ended up spending more time in the garden then at the party” She gave a smile. 

“It’s fine at least you performed a song written for me~” Chen said giving her a smile.

I shrugged hearing him say, ‘written for me.’ 

I ended up just sleeping over Chen’s place too, I was too sleepy to even drive. Now I know how Xiumin feels! In the end no one went home we all just ended up crashing at Chen’s place.

“Chen, thanks for the shirt, uhh the shorts are too big though... but it’s fine because I was wearing shorts under me dress!” even in just a shirt she looked pretty. I felt my heart skip a beat. I couldn’t could I? I couldn’t like ____ right? 

No.. I know I don’t.

A/N Hello guys! Here is my frequent updates, even thought it's only chapter 4 otl, lol OH MY! So does Lay like her? lol Maybe, maybe not! But I can promise you this is a LAY fanfic not Chen (Sorry Chen I do love you), just because I feel like I'm making her fall in love with Chen xD Wait who knows mwahahaha, jk hope you enjoyed the update!
