Chapter 16
My Soulmate
The atmosphere in the car was unexplainably awkward. The radio was not even on. Jessica sat at the passenger seat beside the driver seat, not saying a word. She did not know how to break the awkward silence. Maybe it was better for it to stay this way until they reach their destination.
As of Donghae, he was driving the car but his mind was somewhere else. He still could not accept the fact that Jessica was married to someone else. Worst, Choi Minho. She was married to Choi Minho, Donghae's biggest business partner in his biggest project. He did not want to believe this. Oh, how he wanted to ask Jessica herself about it badly.
Right then, the restaurant's came to their view. And to their surprise, they were able to sit in the car together without saying a word. None of them ever thought that they would survive this awkwardness. Gladness was obvious in Jessica's face. Donghae got out first followed by Jessica. They walked into the restaurant after he locked the car and Jessica tried to not look like she was still bothered by Donghae's present near her. Tsk, stupid Donghae. If he did not pretend like this, she won't have to put up with an act too.
From afar, Donghae spotted Minho sitting on a table of four alone. He tapped Jessica's shoulder and signed for her to follow him. She did not protest.
"Ah! You're here!" Minho stood up in the sight of his two guests. Donghae bowed his head and Minho did the same too. "Sica ah! You made it." He shifted his sight to the stoic lady beside Donghae.
Jessica forced a weak smile. "Where's Yuri?" she asked as she sat on a chair with the help of Minho. Donghae, on the other hand, took a seat beside Minho.
"Ladies' room." Minho answered short. "And Donghae ssi, you made it with Jessica here."
"Yes, lucky we met."
She smiiled.
Donghae's eyes did not leave Jessica.
"So, umm... have you guys ordered?" Jessica asked.
"Yes! Umm, you should order now. Wait..." Minho stretched his arm in the air and a waiter approached their table.
"Menu please."
Donghae was just staring at Minho and Jessica.
"What do you want to eat?"
"Mmm..." Jessica observed the menu. "I'll have... salmon cornets, please." The waiter nodded.
"Donghae ssi?" Minho asked.
He shifted his sight to Jessica who was also staring at him. She then blinked away.
"Anything that Jessica ssi's eating."
Jessica let out a frustrated, soft grunt. "And orange juice please."
"Me too."
Jessica bit her lips as she gave the waiter the menu back. The young waiter bowed down before he walked away.
"Sica ah..." Minho called with a smile. "Sorry about the car. I should've told you first."
She scoffed. "Yeah, you should." She knocked softly on Minho's head.
It made Donghae flashed a quick smile. Oh, how he missed his Cutie Pie Sica.
Her eyes caught Donghae staring at her again and again she felt uncomfortable. The smile lit on her face seconds ago, faded.
"Where's Yuri? What takes her so long?" She asked in hope she could get rid Donghae off her mind in her best friend's present.
"She went straight to the restroom as we arrived."
"Constipation?" She joked.
"Yah." They giggled, except for Donghae who's lost in their conversation.
"I'll go and check her out."
Minho nodded and he took a sip on his Watermelon juice.
