The thoughts of it made Donghae’s hands trembled. His palms got sweater and he could hardly stand on his feet. “Yae, Choi Minho ssi…” He spoke out. “Nice to meet you.”

“Yes, and uh, this is Jessica Jung, Ice Fishy Boutique’s owner. One of the top 3 businesses involved in this project.” Minho introduced her. She could only plaster a smile without even looking at Donghae.

God, what is happening? Donghae thought and bit his lips. “Yae… it’s been awhile, keuchi… Jessica ssi?” He turned towards her slowly, saying her name right in front of her for the first time after so long.

Jessica’s heartbeat got faster on the calling of her name. For 3 years they didn’t meet each other and one trying to forget the other but it seems like luck was not on her side. With this kind of first meet, luck was not on Donghae’s side either.

“You know each other?” A little surprised, that question slipped out of Minho’s mouth. Donghae gave out an awkward chuckle.

“We were colleagues.” Jessica answered fast.

“Jinjjayo?”

“He’s my sunbae in school.” She added with a smile on her face, not trying to be obvious that she was affected by his reappearance in her life. “Nice to meet you again, sunbaenim… uh, Lee Donghae ssi. Yes, it’s been 3 years.”

From those words, Donghae was able to get grip of reality a little. He carved a smile with a mix feeling. Happy that Jessica even counted the days they’d separated and sad that she didn’t even look distressed like he was about it. Or so she was? Maybe she was hiding that feeling deep down inside.

“Great then!” Minho seems to brighten up but still keeping his cool side. “Umm… on the joining of two old friends and a new comer…” he pointed to himself as a joke. “And also the start of our new big business project, how about we have a drink this evening at my shop. It’s my treat. We can get to know each other better before starting this project.” He suggested.

Though Donghae really liked the idea, it must feel awkward having a drink with Jessica and for what he thought was her husband, Minho. Worst, he had to know him personally? He let out a small sigh.

“I don’t think I’m free this evening.” Jessica said, trying to avoid this stupid planned meeting.

“Hey, I know you’re not busy. Come on, it’s just drinking with our business partners. Lee Donghae ssi?”

I wanted to reject but how can I when it comes to Jessica? Even I knew that she is someone else’s, I don’t think I can forget her. “I’ll…”

“I’m really sorry but…” Jessica suddenly cut Donghae’s words. “I have an appoint…”

“Okay, I’ll go. We can talk a lot on our projects together. By this I hope our new and first project together will become successful because of our understanding towards each other. Come on, you should come too.” Donghae cut Jessica’s words too.

For a second, she frowned, a little surprised by it.

“Well, he is the big guy of this project anyway.” Minho supported Donghae with a joke.

Without a smile, she threw her sight away from Donghae and Minho. “Okay.”

“Great! We’ll meet at 5 o’clock?”

“Sounds good.”

“Then, I should get going. I’ll go and prepare everything.” Minho chuckled. “You’re coming with me?” He asked Jessica.

In this state of mind, she didn’t think that she could focus on driving. Therefore, she nodded her head twice. Donghae was only staring at them both who he thought was a newlywed couple with shattering hearts. Fool.
