Chapter 4 | The More I Learn About You.

 

          "Seunghyun, it's getting really late." Bom said as she and Seunghyun walked around.

 

          "Your right. We should find somewhere to sleep for the night."

 

          "Can we afford anything?"

 

          "I don't know, let's find a hotel or something and check their rates." They walked around until they found a large building with the name Comfort Inn Montmartre Paris.

 

          "Ah it's an Inn! Let's go see if they have rooms available!" Bom said with a big smile on her face. Seunghyun and Bom walked in and saw a very elderly woman behind the counter.

 

          As soon as she saw the two walk in, a bright smile appeared on her face as she said, "Bienvenue à  Comfort Inn Montmartre!"

 

          Bom smiled awkwardly and tugged on Seunghyun's arm, asking to translate. "She said 'welcome to Comfort Inn Montmartre'." Then proceeded to talk to the elderly woman, "Bonjour, Avez-vous des chambres disponibles pour juste ce soir? (Hello, Do you have a room available for just tonight?)"

 

          She smiled and said, "Oui! Votre la chance, nous avons un disponible, Seuls les 80 Euros! (Yes, your in luck, we have one available, only 80 Euros!)" Seunghyun checked his pockets, he had 20 Euros and Bom only had 25 Euros. "

 

          We don't have enough!" whined Bom. She sighed and glumly told him, "Let's go look for somewhere cheaper." Seunghyun wanted to pay with his credit card, but he didn't want to let Park Bom know that he was wealthy. He needed Bom to leave somehow.

 

          "Bom, go wait outside. I'll turn on the aegyo and try to lower the price for us!" He lied.

 

          She laughed, "Yah, with your aegyo, all she'll do is cringe and throw you out, no way i'm going outside, I wanna see this!"

 

          He wasn't pleased with Bom and told her, "Do you want me to make the price go down or what? Go outside!"

 

          "Alright, I got it, I'm going!" She said, still laughing on her way out.

 

          "Y at-il un probleme avec le prix?(Is there a problem with the price?)" The elderly woman asked with a worried look on her face.

 

          Seunghyun smiled as he took out one of his credit card and told her, "Pas du tout.(Not at all.)" She was pleased and handed him the room key. He walked outside to Bom and dangled the key in front of her face. "Ta-dah!"

 

          "Woah! It really worked?! Awesome!" She said with two thumbs up.

 

          "Why are you that amazed? Don't you think I'm cute?" Seunghyun pouted.

 

          "Hah!" She scoffed as she took the key out of Seunghyun's hands and went back into the Inn. They went up the stairs and found their room. "Wow! This place is so pretty!" exclaimed Bom. "But there's only one bed. What do we do?!"

 

          "There is only one solution." Seunghyun said with an evil smile, confusing Bom, and then continued and said, "You sleep on the floor!" He laughed.

 

          Bom replied, complaining, "Shouldn't you sleep on the floor? Your the guy here!"

 

          "Alright, fine, I'll sleep on the floor!" Seunghyun said as Bom cheered in victory. "First she says i'm not cute and now she's making me sleep on the floor. What's with this girl?" Seunghyun muttered under his breath, pouting as he made space to sleep on the floor next to Bom's bed. After washing up, they both went to lay down. They slept facing away from each other. "Hey Bom?"

 

          "Yeah?"

 

          "What do you do in Korea? Do you work or anything?" He asked, he couldn't sleep so he tried to make conversation.

 

          "I majored in culinary arts. I work in a pastry shop. So, I make pastries." She said calmly and then asked him, "What do you do?"

 

          "I don't work." He said. "Then how do you pay for anything? Do you mooch off people or something?" She asked, surprised.

 

          He responded smiling, "Something like that."

 

          "Amazing!" She commented, causing Seunghyun to laugh. Curiosity got the best of her, she wanted to know more and more about Seunghyun, he was too mysterious. "Do you have any siblings?" She asked.

 

          He stopped laughing. "I used to, I used to have a sister."

 

          "Can I ask what happened to her?"

 

          "She took her own life." He said softly, but loud enough for her to hear.

 

          I knew I shouldn't have asked, Why am I so stupid! Bom scolded herself in her head. "I'm sorry for your loss, and I'm sorry for asking." She said out loud.

 

          Seunghyun replied immediately, "It's okay." He sighed and continued to make conversation, "So, while we we are on the topic of sisters, tell me about yours, if it's okay. You said she doesn't tell people that she's your sister?"

 

          "Yep. We're half sisters. We have the same father, but different mothers. She doesn't like telling people that i'm her sister, but I really don't know why. I never asked her."

 

          Seunghyun took all this in and asked her, "Do you call her your sister?"

 

          "Always." She replied, sadly. She wanted to stop talking about Dia, it kept reminding her of what happened. She didn't even realize it, but she was crying, and Seunghyun heard her crying. 

 

          "Bom, are you okay?" He said, she soon realized she was crying and in her tears. "I'm okay. It's just, talking about her reminds me of some bad memories."

 

          "I'm sorry. Did she do something to hurt you?" She really didn't want to talk about it, but thought it might make her feel a little better.

 

          "My boyfriend, he cheated on me, with her." Cheat - the very word reminded Seunghyun of Dia.

 

          "I'm sorry Bom."

 

          "It's fine, don't apologize, I'm really glad I can talk to someone about this." That made him smile a little.

 

          "We have something in common, I was cheated on too." He didn't know why he said that, he felt like he had too. It made him feel better, telling someone.

 

          "That ." Bom said, but instead of crying now, she felt better, knowing that she wasn't hurting by herself. "Seunghyun, I'm glad we became friends."

 

          "Me too." They slowly fell asleep, but they were no longer facing away from each other, they slept facing each other now.

Finally finished this chapter, It's been a few days since I last updated because I was so busy, sorry T^T I know that not a lot happened in this chapter, I actually revised and re-wrote a lot, but I wanted them to slowly get to know each other. They'll get back to Korea soon :D

The French has been translated in red. I'm sorry if there mistakes in the French, I used my previous knowledge from my freshman and sophomore year of highschool and my old French notebook :3
