You won't leave me, will you?
Hi!.. Vampires in my story have reflections haha.. just wanted you guys to know :D
----
Taemin ran back to his house and to his room. He tried covering the scent of blood in his body.
He closed the door.
“Hi.” a voice said behind him. He closed his eyes and slowly turned. Krystal was standing by the
window, trying to look innocent. Taemin glared at her and placed his coat in a pile of clothes. He
stripped off his shirt to cover the shoes more and distract Krystal. She glanced at his body and
looked away.
“What are you doing here?” Taemin asked, going to his closet.
“Your father asked me to come.”
“To seduce me, I presume.” he said, wearing a loose white shirt.
“I.... just to talk to you, actually.”
“Talk.” he said, sitting on his bed and taking off his shoes and socks.
“I think that it's best if we just go along with their plans...”
“hmmm..” Taemin said, going back to his desk and taking off his watch.
“....for us to wed.” she continued.
Taemin sat on his chair and looked at her intently. “Why?”
“because... we need power to dominate over humans.
Taemin snorted and ran to her so near that she caught her breath.
“or do you just want me?” he said, then moved away, laughing. “Who wouldn't? I'm the youngest
son of the most powerful vampire in the previous generation... not to mention my looks.” he said. “to
be frank, you're not my type.” he said, looking at her figure. “You're too... common.”
He flopped on his bed. “Please get out. I'm tired.”
Krystal wiped the look of astonishment from her face and bowed.
“I hope in the future we can get along well.” she said.
“Don't hold your breath.” Taemin said when she was at the door. When she was gone, he rolled
and got to the pile of clothes. He got to his bathroom and soaked it in water, very thorough in washing
the blood stains off. He hung it in his bathroom and went back to his bed, a hand on his eyes and
another on his chest.
FLASHBACK!
“Come on, Taemin. Go with me.” Jinki urged. “It's just a ball!... you'll have fun, I promise.” he said.
Taemin scratched his head in irritation. This urging had been going on for hours. He'll never stop
till I say yes, he realized.
“Fine, fine. Just stop bothering me.” he surrendered.
“Yey!.. It's a masquerade ball, brother, so be sure you have your own mask and wear a
presentable suit.” Jinki said.
“Yeah, yeah.” Taemin said.
THE BALL
Taemin looked around the huge hall where everybody was laughing and dancing. He found this
rather boring. He turned and saw Jinki talking and laughing with a human girl.
I'm having tons of fun, Taemin thought as he sighed. Taemin got a glass of wine and went to the
balcony. He took off his mask and felt the cold wind of autumn.
The garden was pretty. Not very well lit but pretty still. He turned and saw a girl. She was pretty
and alone. Taemin watched as she took her heels off and dipped her feet on the freezing water of the
fountain. He crept quietly behind a tree near the fountain and continued to observe the girl.
The girl was completely oblivious to the cold and she was just singing to herself, crying silently
and letting her tears drip in the fountain.
Taemin cleared his throat, deciding to reveal himself. The girl wiped her tears away and turned.
Taemin bowed.
“Annyeong haseyo. I'm Taemin.”
The girl stood and bowed back, her dress dipping in the water.
“Annyeong haseyo. My name is Sulli.”
“You really shouldn't be outside at this temperature. Here, let me help.” he said, offering his hand
to help her out of the fountain.
She smiled and shook her head. “I'm fine with cold."
Taemin dropped his hand. “May I?” he gestured beside her.
“De.” she said, sitting again.
Taemin sat with her. “Why were you crying?” he asked boldly.
A tear fell again and she shook her head, catching it. “It's nothing.”
“How is it nothing if it can make you endure being cold and alone at a wonderful night?”
Sulli looked at him and smiled. She stared at the water. “Well, i'm dying.” she said, her voice
breaking.
Taemin blinked and swallowed. “Why?”
“Because my lungs are too weak.” she said, taking in a shaky breath.
“How much time do you have left?” Taemin asked.
“2 months max.” she smiled at him.
Taemin was silent for a moment.
“If... you had to give up your life to live, would you?” he asked.
“I don't understand the question.” she said.
“If... you had to become something that lives forever but... something that doesn't really have life.”
“I'd rather die than see all my loved ones die one by one and I don't.” she said, shaking her head.
“Then why are you crying?” he asked again.
“because... i'm young. I want to do things. Many things but...”
“What kinds of things?” he pushed.
She looked at him and smiled, the water from the fountain herflecting light to shine in her eyes.
“Love.” She looked back at the water and touched it. “You're very easy to talk to, Taemin-ssi. I've
never talked to anyone as long as i've talked to you right now.”
“Why not?” he asked.
“They don't listen. You do.”
Taemin started following her after that, monitoring what she did everyday. She was great at
painting, he observed. One day, her paintbrush rolled over to the bush where Taemin was hiding. She
went to the bush and tried to look for it but when she divided the bush, she saw Taemin and was
surprised but not unpleased.
Taemin smiled up at her.
“Have you been stalking me, Taemin-ssi?” she asked, hands on her hips.
Taemin raised his hands. “Guilty as charged.” he smiled, not wanting to waste any of her time.
She laughed and nodded.
.....END OF FLASHBACK
Flashes started replacing the clear face of Sulli on Taemin's mind. Fire and blood and hurt. He
woke up again in cold sweat and went straight to his bathroom. He washed his face with cold water
and stared at his reflection. He sighed deeply and checked on the shoes. It was almost dry.
“I'll just drop by tomorrow.”
