Ch 7, Pt 1: A meeting!

I woke up at some time just to realize that every part of my body was in pain. Especially the left shoulder… I guess it’s because I had slept on the sofa. SiWon was gone again, I wanted to get up, but I saw a note on the table: “Always keep it close” – it was from SiWon, and there was a phone next to it. I put it in my pocket and changed my clothes… I can just say that throughout these last days the only thing I do is rest… if I was in Korea I would be falling over myself to work. That’s why I was doing my best to learn English and not to bother SiWon. I was studying hard; I had to turn into a worthy wife for him. I was pretty advanced already, maybe in a week or so I could get hired somewhere… I decided to do a little walk around the neighborhood… SiWon lived in a lovely place; all houses were a few floors high… most had big gardens… The streets were broad and clean. I got into a shop and managed to buy myself some ice cream with no complications… yay, I’m getting better and better! I headed back home, staring somewhere… BAM, I hit my head in someone’s body...
- I’m sorry… - I said and raised my head guiltily.
In front of me was standing… god, there were so much Koreans in America! It was a boy, about 20 or 22 years old. He was carrying a big backpack and a map.
- Oh, You’re Korean! – exclaimed the boy and smiled.
Whaa… I wonder if SiWon knows how many fellow-countrymen we have in here! Great!
- Yes, excuse me for bumping into you… - I blushed a little and tried to look him to in the eyes but the sun wasn’t helping a lot…
He bowed and described himself briefly…
- It’s OK; I’m Kai, nice to meet you.
- I’m BaekHee, I’m glad to meet you. – I answered with a smile.
Today was going to be a really great day!
- Excuse me, BaekHee, but I just got here, I’m a photographer and don’t know where to go… can you show me where the closest hotel is or some other place where I can sleep? – Oh, poor guy, he was lonely too… but how can I help him when I know nothing either…
- Oh, I would be more than glad to help you, but I’m new here, too… I really don’t know a thing about this area…
- Oooh, that’s bad… what am I going to do now…? – The boy looked quite nervous and confused… I guess he was having a hard time, too…
