HOYA'S POV

i woke up to find myself in an unfamiliar surrounding but as i looked around the house i realized i was still at Sungkyu hyung's house. I got up and foled the blankets neatly and placed them on the couch. I made my way outside and started to walk back home. As i walked all i could see was happiness; happy families, happy couples...and i asked myself if i could ever be THAT happy and when my pains and sufferings would end 

i just smiled to myself when suddenly i saw a crying child yelling for her momy and daddy.

I noticed no one helped her so i went over to her and bent down

"Hi little girl. Are you lost?" I asked softly as I didn't want to intimidate her 

The little girl sniffled and nodded 

"Are you waiting for you mommy & daddy?" I asked 

"Yes. I miss them," she said softly 

"Can you help me ajusshi?" she asked 

"Of course," I said and I held her hand and led her to the closest police station nearby 

I finally found one after wandering around for 15 minutes 

I entered and a police officer noticed us 

"Uh Miyoung-ah what are you doing here again?" the officer asked as he came closer to the girl

"Hi ajusshi," she answered smiling 

"Did you run away again?" the officer asked and she turned quiet 

This resulted in the officer sighing 

"Do you know her?" I asked 

"Ah yes. Miyoung-ah can you sit over there while i talk to this ajusshi?"

The girl nodded yes and sat where she was told to 

The officer then led me to his desk

"So that girl you brought in is Kang Miyoung. She's only 5 years-old and she lost her biological parents 3 months ago and a month later she got adopted into another family,"

"I see but how do you know her so well?" I asked 

"I actually don't but the only reason i know her is because every day someone always brings her in saying she's lost and her adopted father picks her up. She's actually a very quiet and shy girl. I feel bad for her considering the sudden change she has to go through,"

"I see," I muttered 

Suddenly an angry man in his late 40's rushed in the door and rushed towards Miyoung

"Let's go!" He yelled as he forcefully dragged her out 

"LET HER GO!" I yelled as i yanked her away from the man

"Who the hell are you?!" he asked angrily 

"That's none of your business and i'm guessing you're her adopted father?"

"Yes i am that is why I'M taking her HOME!" he yelled and started to drag her out

"Have this happened before?" I asked the officer

"What do you mean?"

"Is this the first time he's been aggressive with her?" I asked as I rephrased my question

"This is the second or third time," he informed 

"he's abusing her," I observed 

"What?"

"Seeing his anger he's been abusing her," I said and immediately ran out after them 

I saw him push her head into his car but I yelled STOP 

He turned around and I punched him in the face once and said to Miyoung 

"Come here sweetie," I said and she came to me immediately 

The old man stood up

"SHE'S MY DAUGHTER!!!" he yelled and soon a crowd was forming around us 

"Yes she is! She's your daughter," I yelled back but in a calm manner 

I could see the confused expression on his face 

"BECAUSE she's your daughter, you shouldn't be abusing her,"

"What evidence do you have that I'm abusing her?" he asked as he started to get too cocky 

"Miyoung-ah, would you show me your arms really quickly?" I asked her as I was carrying her 

She nodded and rolled up her sleeves 

People around us gasped as they saw cuts and bruises on both arms 

"T..That doesn't show who did it," he stuttered as he started to become more anxious 

"YOU DID IT!" Miyoung suddenly yelled and started crying, which took me by surprise as that was the first time Miyoung talked so loudly 

"Be queit you ungrateful !" He spat 

Soon the people crowding us started glaring at the old man

"Officer arrest that man for child abuse," I ordered and soon his hands were in cuffs and he turned and glared at me but I just smirked 

I took Miyoung back into the station and sat her down

"What will happen to her now?" I asked 

"The man that just got arrested was the only adopted parent so she would have to go back to an orphanage,"

"Ah I see. Um, by any chance would it be possible if I took her home with me for tonight?"

"I'm not too sure about that," the officer said 

"Only for tonight," I pleaded and the man nodded yes 

"I have a question. If I wanted to adopt her would it be a problem?" I asked 

"It depends actually *phone ringing* hold on please. Hello? Yeah. Are you serious? Alright, thanks," he said and ended the call

"Is there a problem?" I asked 

"I have bad news. That man that just got arrested is suing you for defamation and for taking his daughter away from him,"

I chuckled which seemed to take him by surprise 

"Don't worry, he's not going to win," I said confidently 

"How do you know?" He asked 

"People like him don't get away with things like abusing their own child," I said 

"I'll go to court and show that bastard who's boss," I said to the officer and carried Miyoung to Sungkyu's house 

She was asleep in my arms when I arrived at his house 

"Hoya what's up? And who is she?" he asked 

"I'll explain but first can i put her down?"

"yeah sure go upstairs and it's the third bedroom to the right," he said and i opened the door and placed her on the bed and made my way downstairs 

"So who is she?" he asked 

"Kang Miyoung, she's someone I'm thinking of adopting,"

"WHAT?!" he yelled 

"Shut up she's sleeping,"

"Dude are you sure?" he asked 

"I said i'm thinking but that's not why I'm here. I found her on the streets crying for her parents and I took her to the police station and her adoptive father came and I found out he was abusing her and he was dragging her and before he could leave I punched him and carried her out his car and blah blah blah and now he wants to sue for defamation and for taking his daughter away," I explained quickly 

"What a douche," SUngkyu said 

"That man doesn't even deserve to be a father," I said as i sighed ," But what does he mean by taking his daughter away?"

"He means you're tricking her into thinking he's the bad guy and you're the good guy,"

"Oh you got to be kidding me," I said 

"Crazy bastard," I muttered 

"So you're here because you want me to be your lawyer?" Hyung asked 

"Yes," I said 

"No," He answered 

"Please Hyung please. I can't win this without you please?" I begged 

"What's going on?" Soyu asked as she came downstairs 

Sungkyu hyung explained my situation to him and immediately she said "help him,"

yeah~ ha your wife is on MY side

"But honey," he whined 

"Ajusshi?" I heard a small voice call 

I turned around and saw Miyoung downstairs rubbing her eyes 

"Hi sweetie why are you awake?" I asked 

"I was scared," she said and ran up to me 

I placed her on my lap 

"Ajusshi,"

"Yes sweetheart,"

"Are people going to take me away?" she asked 

I was silent 

I looked at Hyung and Soyu for help but they only looked at her pitifully 

"I'm not too sure yet,"

"Ajusshi...can't I stay with you?" She asked 

I was bewildered 

"You want to stay with me?" I clarified 

"I'll be nice and i'll listen, I promise," She said cutely 

I smiled and placed her on my lap 

"We'll see," I said and with that answer she smiled and she knew she had a chance 

She then started to fall back asleep in my arms 

"Hoya what are you going to do?" Hyung asked 

I sighed 

"I don't know,"

"What about Bora?" Soyu asked 

"I...I don't know,"

Why does my life just keep getting harder?
