Foreword
Prologue
It had been a long flight from Los Angeles to Seoul for a doe-eyed girl named Im Yoona. She had been studying college in America for four years and couldn’t wait to get back home and see her friends and family.
The first person she was going to see was her bestfriend; Kwon Yuri. Yuri said that she’d be the one to pick Yoona up from the airport a week before Yoona left. She didn’t know what to expect of Yuri since they hadn’t seen each other for years. Yoona didn’t look much different except instead of having long black hair, she now had short red hair.
As soon as she arrived and gathered her luggage, Yoona made her way to the arrival area and began to search for Yuri. She continued looking around for a short while until she heard a very loud voice.
“Yah! Im Yoona! Over here!”
Yoona turned towards the familiar voice and grinned. It was none other than Yuri herself. Her tan friend looked almost the same but her hair color was brown instead of black and it was a bit shorter. Yoona dashed towards her friend and gave her a warm hug.
The two friends savored the moment for a few more secondsbefore finally breaking the hug.
“Yoona, it’s so good to see you! I can’t believe it’s been four years already. Love the hair by the way!” Yuri said, messing up a part of Yoona’s hair.
“Yah! Don’t just mess it up like that!” she angrily exclaimed, trying to fix her hair. “It’s good to see you too, Yul.” She continued with a warm tone.
“Well then, why don’t we go get that bottle of soju like I said we would?” Yuri said along with a hearty laugh. Yoona laughed along and nodded.
“Let’s go!”

The two drove to a nearby bar and caught up on as much as they could. Yuri told Yoona about her dance studio that she started with their friend Hyoyeon and how it was going great.
“So are there any interesting people at the studio?” Yoona asked out of curiosity.
“Yeah, there’s this one girl named Jessica. She’s not much of a dancer but she’s okay.” Yuri replied. Yoona raised an eyebrow at her and smirked.
“What are you looking at?” Yuri said before taking a shot of soju.
“Since when were you in to girls?” Yoona asked teasingly.
“W-what?! Just because you like girls, doesn't mean I do! ...I’m not in to girls! I’m straight!” Yuri shouted a little too loudly, earning stares from the other people at the bar.
“Yeah, that’s what they all say.”
The two resumed their conversation and shared more and more stories. Yoona shared stories of what college in America was like while Yuri shared how annoying her parents’ being down was.
"It seems like the way you feel about your parents hasn't changed a bit."
“So are you really taking over your family’s company?”Yuri asked her the younger girl.
“Yeah. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
“Hey Yoong…” Yuri drifted.
“Yeah?”
“You remember when we were in high school, when we were seniors?”
“You mean when you saved my life? Of course I do. I still owe you, ya know.” Yoona answered, remembering the faithful day.
“How ‘bout you pay me back for the next few months or so?”
“A few months? Whaddya mean?”
“It’ll take about six months for you to pay me back.”
“Six months?! You gotta be a lot more specific than that,Yul.” Yoona said frustrated at how mysterious Yuri was being.
“You remember my sister Seohyun right?” Yuri asked.
“Yeah, but I don’t remember much. Just that she was really shy. What does she have to do with anything?”
“I… I want you to marry her.” Yuri finally answered.
“What?!”
