B1A4 - You Are My Girl

Sehun and I were practically made for each other. He likes me, and I like him back. However, whenever he tries to confess to me, he'd end up chickening out and changing the subject. I'm getting extremely impatient. If he doesn't do anything soon, then I will be the one to make the first move. For example, today, Baekhyun, Sehun, Kai, and I were watching a movie together at my house. 

"I found one!" Kai exclaimed. 

We all turned to him, raising our eyebrows in curiosity. 

"A classic horror film: Scream." He gave us an evil grin. 

Are you kidding me? If there were a thing that I feared more than thunderstorms, it'd be horror movies. I had an urge to kick Kai in the place where the sun doesn't shine. However... I took a quick glance over at Sehun. If going through this torture will bring me closer to Sehun, then I guess I would just have to bear with it. Kai waved the plastic DVD cover around and asked,

"Any objections?" 

We all shook our heads in unison. With another signature grin, he popped the DVD into the player and the film began to play. 

...

Oh my god. What was I thinking? There were so many other ways to get Sehun's attention, but this way should've been at the bottom of my list. I constantly closed my eyes and clawed at the cushion that was in my hands. Occasionally, I could hear a snicker come from Kai. I should've known that he was doing this on purpose. However, I also caught Sehun giving me some quick, nervous stares. I couldn't help but smirk a little. I knew that he was dying to comfort me, but he's, as usual, too shy to do anything. Suddenly, I latched onto his arm. I could feel him jump in response to my surprise action. 

"Minae...a-are you okay?" Sehun stuttered. 

"What do you think?" I responded quietly. 

He didn't ask me any more questions. Instead, he wrapped his arms around my shoulder and brought me closer to him. My plan had been a success, but I should consider my choices before doing something as rash as this. I rested my head on his shoulder, allowing myself to close my eyes and drown out the noise of loud slashing and screaming. This was the first stepping-stone to an actual confession.

"M-minae?" Sehun murmured. 

My head shot up, almost hitting him straight in the jaw. Luckily, he moved away quick enough to avoid any embarrassing injuries. I turned to Sehun and blinked at him in confusion. 

"The movie's over..." He stated. 

My arm was still latched onto his, and I could feel the judging eyes of Kai and Baekhyun on me. Turning red, I immediately let go of him and ran a hand through my hair awkwardly. 

"I finally understand the story of Scream. It's about a serial killer and Minae's obnoxious snoring" Kai snickered, earning a light slap on the arm from Baekhyun. 

I tossed a poisonous glare at him, but I was secretly worrying if I was really snoring like a beast around Sehun. Baekhyun gave me a bright smile and said, 

"Don't listen to Kai. You were completely silent throughout the movie." 

Thank god for Baekhyun. If he were as big of a prankster as Kai, I wouldn't have any more hair left on my head. I smiled gratefully in return. 

"You should've told us that you didn't like horror movies though. You looked like you were going to cry only after the first scene." Kai burst out laughing. 

That's it. I'm going to snap his neck off. Before I could get off of my couch, Sehun suddenly spoke up,

"Stop making fun of her, Kai. You're just jealous that she clung onto me and not you." 

I grinned at his statement. Besides being a total shy boy around me, he was the only other person who had the wit and skills to insult Kai to the fullest. I could see Kai turn pink from anger. He raised a fist at Sehun and shouted,

"Watch your words, little boy!" 

"Little? You're only a few months older than me." He rolled his eyes. 

Kai knew that he couldn't win this battle of words, so he just brushed it off casually. 

"Whatever, Sehun. You have one girl, but I have tons of girls drooling all over me." 

I shook my head slightly and rolled my eyes. Kai's ego was so big that it became more of a humorous thing than an annoying one. Suddenly, he turned to Baekhyun and gave him a mischievous grin. 

"Sehun, Minae. Baekhyun and I have some important things to do, so you two have fun staying here, okay? Bye!" 

Kai practically picked up Baekhyun and dashed out, locking the door so that we were both trapped inside of my house. Panicking, I went over to the front door and shook it violently. 

"Kim Jongin!" I growled. I rubbed my forehead, dreading the headache that was slowly forming. 

"Why are you so stressed out?" Sehun asked, snapping me out of my angry bubble.

I turned around slowly and met eyes with him. While I was having a slight meltdown, he had pulled out a pair of headphones and was listening to his music while staring out of my large window. Surprisingly, I never really noticed how stunning he looked today. He was wearing a soft, white cardigan with a beige t-shirt underneath, which he matched with a pair of black and white checkered shorts and gray and black Vans. 

"Earth to Minae?" Sehun called while waving his hand slightly.

"Oh! Um. Sorry. What did you say?" 

"I told you to come over here." He repeated. 

Hesitantly, I made my way over to his spot near the window. He took off his headphones and placed it over my ears. A small smile appeared on my face when I heard the song that was playing. 

"Love Light by CNBLUE? I love this song." I said. 

"I guess we have pretty similar music tastes, eh?" He chuckled. 

Without thinking, I began to rap to Yonghwa's part:

"You're the president of my heart 

You're my chests' star embroider 

I'm genie for you boy

You make me want to stop breathing 

Whatever you want

Because I love you 

There's no reason for my love, you know." 

I changed it up a bit so it would fit the situation. Sehun smiled, but he didn't say anything. I guessed that he wanted me to continue. My singing wasn't as great as my rapping, but I tried my best, 

"You're a darling

You're more beautiful than the stars above in the night sky 

The shining thing deep inside my heart

My own love light." 

I stopped singing when Sehun clapped loudly. I removed the headphones to see what he had to say.

"Your rapping was definitely better, but I think I loved both." Sehun commented with a small smile. 

That was enough to make my heart flutter like crazy. I was forever grateful for his kind statement. Our nice moment alone ended abruptly when Kai burst into the house. 

"Your time with Oh Sehun is up! Time to go home!" 

I handed Sehun back his headphones just before Kai practically dragged the poor boy away. I shook my head, but the smile never left my face. Kim Jongin, better known as Kai, is an egotistical bastard, but he was also a very skilled male matchmaker. I looked out of the window, watching Kai put Sehun in a headlock. I could hear his booming voice shout,

"Spill it! Tell me what happened!" 

"It's a secret, Kai! A secret between Minae and I." Sehun replied stubbornly, struggling to escape Kai's arms. 

I laughed a genuine laugh. This day was absolutely amazing.

Beep beep!

To: Minae 

From: Sehun

Hi. :) Can you meet me at the beach? Near the horse stables?

...

To: Sehun

From: Minae

Sure. Just let me get ready. ^^

...

I changed into a turquoise sundress and silver sandals before heading off to the horse stables, which, despite its name, was completely deprived of horses. I froze in my steps when I saw Sehun standing around casually. He was wearing white, v-neck t-shirt with blue paint designs splattered on it and a pair of dark blue shorts. His right hand was holding onto a metal pole, while his left one was in his pocket. If a random stranger were to pass by, Sehun would've been mistaken for a model. I approached him cautiously, giving him a shy smile.

"Hi." I greeted.

"Hey, Minae." He replied.

I couldn't help but giggle at his poodle-like hair, which was basically a mass of curls sitting on the top of his head. I held back my laughter and asked,

"Did you stay out here for a long time?"

"Quite a bit." He said, somewhat jokingly, as he patted down his up do. 

"So why did you call me out here?" I asked, twirling the ends of my hair. 

"Well, this may be a bit sudden..."

He paused, as if to give himself a moment to think of the right words. 

"I have been hiding this for a long time, but..."

Pause. 

"But I..."

Pause. This boy was taking his sweet time. I chewed on my lower lip, beginning to feel slightly impatient. 

"I...like you...Minae." He confessed shyly, and so quietly that the sound of the ocean waves almost carried his voice away. 

I didn't say a single word. Instead, I tugged on Sehun's shirt and gave him a quick kiss on the lips.

"D-does that mean...?" Sehun's eyes widened.

"What do you think?" I gave him a teasing grin. 

Sehun pulled me into a giant bear hug before pressing his lips against mine. I melted in his embrace, letting the feeling of pure bliss wash over me. After a few seconds, he pulled away and smiled brightly at me. 

"I may be young, but I'll make a much better boyfriend than Kai. I promise."

"Hey! I heard that, you brat!" A sudden voice shouted.

We both turned our heads to see Kai stumbling out of a random bush. He was frowning deeply. Storming over to us, he poked Sehun's chest violently while exclaiming,

"I worked so hard to get you two together and this is what I get as a "thank you"?! You two are ungrateful little--" 

Sehun suddenly shoved Kai, making him fall facedown into the soft sand. Just then, I saw Baekhyun popping up from behind the same bush that Kai was in. He slapped his palm against his forehead, shaking his head at Kai's current state. Sehun grabbed my hand, pulling me away from the scene. 

"Run!"

Sehun and I, hand in hand, began to run off towards the far end of the beach. I whipped my head around to see a furious Kai chasing after us. As our melodious laughs filled the air, I thought to myself...

What could've been a better summer than spending it with the ones you love?
