“Hyukkie. It’s okay. I’m here.” Donghae broke the hug and peck Hyukjae’s cheek gently. Then he leans to Hyukjae’s ear and keeps repeating the words ‘it’s okay’ ‘you’re safe’ ‘I’m here’. It takes a few minutes for Donghae to realize that he just kiss Hyukjae’s cheek.

. What’s happening to me?

Donghae’s conscious minds tell him to ignore it for now and just concentrating on soothing Hyukjae.

“P-please… d-don’t leave me…” Hyukjae manage to say between his sobs.

“Ne~ I will never leave you.” Donghae patted Hyukjae’s head gently. He keeps patting Hyukjae until the brunette calm down about 20 minutes after that.

“Are you okay? Want to share with me? It’s okay if you don’t want.” Donghae sounds concern but Hyukjae still be able to sense a sad tone between them. He buried his face deeper on Donghae’s chest and mumbles something.

“What did you said?”

Hyukjae bring his face to look right on Donghae’s eyes. Donghae feels something on his chest. It’s like someone just stab right on his chest. Hyukjae’s hair is messy; his eyes are red and puffy because of too much crying.

“Promise me you won’t get mad.” Hyukjae speak hoarsely.

“I promise.” Donghae said though he doesn’t really know why he should be mad.

“Years ago. After you were gone. Not long after that, my mom collapse. Then everything changed…” Hyukjae tell his entire story since the time Donghae has gone until now.

Donghae feels like his world just broke down in to pieces. How come he thought that Hyukjae is leaving him and forget about him all the time when Hyukjae is suffering way more than him.

“Oh my God. I’m sorry Hyuk. I shouldn’t leave you.” Donghae started to feel extremely guilty. Without him knowing, he’s been clenching his fist thight.

“No *sobs* you don’t *sobs* need to apologize. *sobs* It’s not your *sobs* fault. You promise me that you *sobs* won’t get mad.”

“I’m not mad at you Hyukjae, I’m mad at myself. If I didn’t move out, I could protect you from your dad’s beating. If I didn’t move out, you would never suffer that much. At least there is someone on your side when you need them the most. And that could be your father. But he’s so blind with anger and desperation and blames it to you. “Stop it Hae. Please don’t blame yourself.” Hyukjae cried harder. The only he hate the most is making his best friend cried because of him. No matter if Donghae leave him before. “It’s entirely my fault. I could just sneak out and leave him. But I didn’t. I can’t. So it’s all my own fault if those thing happening to me. But times passed and I feel so broken and lost. And that was the time I tell myself to stands for myself. That’s the time I bravely walk to my dad and punch him on the face for making me feels like thrash. For making me feeling so di
