I Loved You on a Sunday Afternoon
Kyungsoo could not believe his ears. His eyes widen and his mouth formed an O. EXO had decided to just hire a
personal chef without his consent. He knew it was for his own good. Kyungsoo had injured his arm during EXO’s
last promotion period. Of course, being EXO’s main executive superstar model chef had become a huge
problem for him ever since the accident. He couldn’t believe them. They had the audacity to hire a random
girl who’s skill has not even been tested yet. He was disgusted with them, but he knew they did it out of love.
“Kyungsoo ah, let’s be reasonable. We are all worried about you, and we just want the best. Getting you some help
would be the first thing we had to do. We can’t just let you continue to cook with an injured wrist,” Suho calmly
explained. He was trying to make it sound as painless as possible. He knew he was hurting Kyungsoo inside, but he
had to do it.
“Suho hyung, can’t we just re-think about this? I know there is another way. I can still provide food on the table.
Just...trust me guys.” Kyungsoo felt helpless as he was staring at all the faces looking at him.
“Look, D.O. This wasn’t something easy for us to do. We went through so many meetings just to help give you a little
rest. Can’t you see our effort? Can you not see the reason why we are doing this?” Kyungsoo couldn’t believe it.
Jong-in had used his stage name. Jong-in never used his stage name unless he was super angry or annoyed with him.
“Kyungsoo ah, what Kai is trying to say is that we know you are not comfortable with another person stepping into
your personal space-your kitchen-but look on the bright side. You can get some rest, and we all get to experience a
new style of cooking. I’m sure that it can’t compare to yours though. I’m know you’re not happy right now, but once
you finally see what we’ve done for you, I’m sure you’ll thank us.” Suho had won. The discussion was over. His knees
felt weak, and his eyes were tired. Kyungsoo knew he had lost the argument. He had let them take away what was
most precious to him.
She was coming. The new cook to be exact. All of the members were seated in the living room, anticipation eating
them up inside. Kyungsoo was flipping through a home and living magazine. His eyes never left the pages. Sehun was
showing too much enthusiasm.
“Who do you think it will be? A nice old ahjumma or halmoni? I’m hoping for an ahjumma. I want to be able to eat
food just like how my mom made.” Sehun’s eyes were sparkling. Kyungsoo scoffed and rolled his eyes. He was not
amused.
“I just want someone who can make whatever I want to eat,” Baekhyun replied. He too was anxious about the new
cook.
The doorbell rang and all the members jump out of their seat. Suho straightens his clothes up and heads for the door.
He smiles as the young girl standing before him.
“Hi, I’m Suho. You must be the new chef. Please come in.” Suho unlocked the door and allowed the young girl in.
“Hello, I am Kim Shin yeong. Pleased to meet you all.” She beamed. One by one the members shake her hand. They
were all amazed at how young she was.
Kyungsoo remained at his seat. He had only glanced up once. Taking in her physique, he laughed to himself. What
skills does she have?
