Clearing things up
Married to Key![](https://photo.asianfanfics.com/story_cover/169153_f0c9d4.jpg)
Yuki’s POV
The both of us walked into the café the staff were in. Key had changed into something we bought for him earlier.
“Key? Why did you change your clothes?” One of the staff members asked him as we approached their table. People around us started watching us and Key consciously bent down and whispered something into the PD’s ear.
The PD whispered something back to him. Key got up and approached me.
“Filming just got cancelled.”
“Eh?”
“Let’s go.” Key took my wrist and dragged me out of the café.
I rapidly bowed to the staff members behind me as Key just continued dragging me to the carpark. Spotting SHINee’s van, we hurriedly got into it.
“What just happened?” I dared to ask.
“Don’t you want to go home? I just told the staff what happened and they let us go home first. They’ll come over again later.”
“About just now…”
“Let’s talk about it at home, okay?”
3rd Person’s POV
The two of them quietly entered the house. For once, cameras weren’t following them, and the cameras in the house were turned off since they were supposed to be out filming.
Yuki didn’t know what to do so she just sat down on the couch. Key sat down next to her and whipped his phone out.
“Smile.” Yuki looked up at his phone, surprised.
Click. The camera flash almost blinded her. Yuki playfully hit Key as he laughed.
“Give it to me!” Yuki whined as Key placed his phone in his other hand, stretching it away from her as he continued laughing at her. He looked at the picture while Yuki was trying to reach his phone without actually touching him.
As Key finally got to properly see the photo, he burst out laughing even more.
“Our faces are epic!” He finally sat up straight and Yuki grabbed his phone from him. The photo on Key’s phone revealed Key making a funny face with Yuki’s widened eyes.
“…Can’t we take a proper one?” Yuki asked as she started hitting Key’s thigh.
“Ow ow ow okay we will take a proper one!” Key exclaimed in pain. Yuki giggled as she raised Key’s phone up.
“Say cheese!”
Yuki smiled, feeling satisfied by the photo she had just taken with Key. She handed his phone back to him, and silence enveloped them for a few minutes.
“So…are you ready to talk about the three boys?” Key cautiously asked.
Yuki bit her lip as she looked down, playing with her fingers. She looked up at Key, and seeing him look back at her made her quickly look away again.
“Um…”
“They bully you in school too, don’t they?” Key made a quick assumption.
“It isn’t only them.” Yuki then went on to tell Key about everything, from the three boys to Minji, and then to Luhan. Her tears were quickly falling but she tried her best to stop them.
Key didn’t know how to react. He was never good with girls, especially when they were crying. When other SHINee members cried, he would try to comfort them, but inside he would feel awkward too, because he was never good in comforting people in the first place.
However, this time, it was different. Seeing Yuki cry somehow made him want to cry too. He remembered the promise he made Yuki.

“I can’t promise you that they won’t, but I’ll try my best to protect you from all their criticism and snide remarks. I know how harsh my fans can get sometimes.”
-------------------------- End of flashback -------------------------
Well then, what was he doing there, staring at her as cried? Key seemed to be frozen in his place. Yuki sniffed, and she looked away from Key, busy trying to wipe her tears.
“Don’t cry…” Key inched towards Yuki, and his arms slowly but surely started making their way around Yuki. She jumped a little from the shock, but as Key started to pull her to him, she felt herself loosening up.
Key was hugging her.
She looked up and saw Key looking right back at her, his eyes red as well. She quickly pulled herself away from him.
“Why are you crying?”
Key continued staring at her as he shook his head.
“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice trembling a little.
Yuki was taken aback, and now she was the one who didn’t know what to do. Her tears instantly stopped as she panicked, thinking of what she should do.
“Don- don’t cry!” She said, still shocked that Key was crying.
Key sniffed as he smiled a little.
“Who said I was crying?” He asked as he wiped his eyes.
“No one said that you were crying. I saw you crying.”
“I wasn’t crying!” Key continued to protest.
“If you say so.”
Key sighed, and the two of them were enveloped by awkward silence once again.
“Sorry-“ the two of them said at the same time. Key looked at Yuki, waiting for her to continue.
“I’m sorry I’m so weak,” she said. Key placed his hand under her chin and tilted her head up, making eye contact with her.
“No, I’m sorry I broke my promise. I’m sorry I couldn’t stop them. I’m sorry for causing you to be hurt instead of me.”
“It wasn’t your fault. You couldn’t be at my school anyway…” Yuki saw Key’s expression stiffened as he glared at her. He was probably doing that because he wanted her to blame him.
“There’s Luhan, anyway,” Yuki shrugged, “he can replace you when I’m in school.”
“Who can replace Almighty Key?” He pretended to be angry, and Yuki played along, pretending to be frightened of him.
“No- nobody,” she stammered, before bursting into laughter. “Nobody can replace SHINee’s Key.”
Key nodded approvingly, his lips parting to form a small smile.
“Then you have to control your fans too! I didn’t know my fandom could be so fierce.” Yuki pouted a little. She bent forward, her elbows resting on her knees.
“Hmm, okay,” Key agreed. “On one condition.”
Yuki sat up straight again, looking at Key curiously. Key folded his arms with a smug look on his face.
“Don’t mention Luhan in front of me again.”
Key’s POV
“Why, do you have something against him? Do you hate him or something?” Yuki questioned me. “Or… are you by any chance, jealous?”
“No!” I immediately shot back.
Damn Kibum, why couldn’t you just admit it? Just admit that you were a teeny weeny bit jealous.
“Why not then?”
“… Just don’t.”
“LUHAN LUHAN LUHAN LUHAN Oppa do you know Luhan OPPA is so cute-“ she started. I couldn’t help myself as I started to smile. Leaning towards her, I started tickling her.
“Key! Stop it!” She said, in between her fits of giggles while she squirmed in reaction to my tickles.
“Then don’t mention him anymore,” I said with a straight face.
“O- okay!” I stopped tickling her and she got up, straightening her clothes.
“You are so weird, Kim Kibum.”
“Well aren’t you too, Park Yuki?” Yuki glared at me.
“… LUHAN.” I flared my nostrils and pressed my lips together, reaching out to tickle her again. Breaking into fits of giggles once again, she jumped up and started running away from me. I stood up and started chasing her as she started up the stairs.
“Park Yuki, come back here!”
And that was how another afternoon of ours was spent.
