“There, safe and sound. Happy?” Jay came and smiled...gently at me.

“uh, yea...” I replied dumbfounded like the idiot I always was.

“Alright then I should get going, I’ll call you, once you have rested” Jay smirked grazing his icy fingers across my cheeks.

                I just stared at him, knowing he wouldn’t be able to call me, he never asked for my number. Hopefully his magic won’t help him with this one too. I watched him walk towards the front door slowly and surely, as if he was no stranger. Which gave me the chill, how many times has he been here, has he done anything to me while I was asleep, while mom was asleep? So many questions came rushing into my head, making it difficult for me to focus for a few seconds. Right when he closed the door behind him, I my heels and ran into mom’s room, and there she was safe and sound just like he said not a trace of scratches. She’s probably exhausted so I left her asleep.

                Like Jay said, as much as I hated it, I am exhausted. Unwillingly I walked towards my room. Touching the familiar feel of the door knob I opened the door to see Jolin sitting weakly against the bed post.

“Oh my God, are you alright?” I gasped barely above a whisper.

“Yes.....” Jolin answered with her eyes still tightly shut

“Can I do anything?”

“I...told you......to....stay away......from......him,” Jolin whispered in weak gasps of air.

“I....had no choice, I had to save my mother, and I couldn’t let him do anything to her because of me!” I answered in a rush nervous that she would punish me or something.

“What....did he....make....you...promise.....him?” Jolin asked in her now raspy voice still gasping for air.

“He said.....He’d let my mother go and leave her alone for good if I become his girlfriend.....” I answered shyly unable to look Jolin in the eye anymore. Knowing she probably hates me to my guts now.

“That’s....not....good.....did.....he....kiss....you?”

“....Yes....” I answered awkwardly thinking back to his cold lips.

“You can’t...hide....from him.....now.....I..I...am...n...no....longer...able....to protect...you”

“WHAT!? WHY?!” I yelled in a panic, then putting my hands over my mouth remember mother was still sleeping downstairs.

“That kiss....sealed.....you....to him.....you are now.....bonded.....to him”

“What do I do now? Am I going to die? How do I break it? Please tell me,” I pleaded.

“I....can’t....help....t...to....weak......you must....find....the....way.....yourself.....or....die....in hid....h...h....hand” and just like that Jolin dissolved into a thin mist.

                Now that I was in my room I couldn’t help but cry. I cried slowly and quietly not wanting to wake mom up. Scared for my life now, how am I ever going to figure out how to break the bond? Am I really just going to die like this? In his hands?

“Hey....are you ok?”

“OH GOD?! You scared the hell out of me!” I exclaimed.

“Sorry, I didn’t want to disturb you” Jay smiled again gently...

“How did you get in, how long have you been standing here?”

“Your window wasn’t locked, right when you Jolin vanished,”

“Oh...” Scared now and making a mental note to keep all windows and doors locked at all times.

“Is....is it really that bad to be with me?” Jay asked in a hesitant voice, something I never knew he could do.

“YES, you’re only going to kill me once you’re done torturing me! Like you killed my dad!” I said standing my ground making sure I didn’t look afraid.

“Oh... I guess I can’t change the past, but Gui Gui please, give me a chance I’ll prove to you, I love you..”

“NO, you don’t, you love women, you play them like disposable toys that are worth nothing! I hate you, this is all just part of your scheme to make me fall in love with you so you can destroy me when you’re done with me!”

“Gui, please I would never do that to you....” Jay looked down now.

“Just leave me alone, I never wanted to go out with you in the first place, and now you placed this stupid bond on me that I can’t get rid of,”

“It’s my first time....bonding.....with anyone” Jay said barely above a whisper, like he didn’t want me to hear but did at the same time,

“What?” I asked wanting to make sure what I heard was right.

“I love you...I really do....you are the first girl I have ever bonded with!”

“What do you mean first girl, isn’t it as simple as a kiss?”

“No....it’s not that simple, it requires me to sacrifice parts of my power, I have already started to grow weak since that kiss, and the other half of that power was transferred to you.”

“WHAT!? Then what’s going to happen to me now? Am I going to turn into a monster like you?”

“No, don’t worry it’s nothing like that, you’ll still be able to live your normal life, just, you can use what you can call magic, but only small tricks.”

“Oh...”

“Yea...you should go rest up, ok?”

“Oh” I didn’t know what else I could do so I obeyed and walked towards my bed blanking out next min not completely sure what I was supposed to do again. Still in complete shock of what I have just learned.

“Here, let me help you to bed” Jay gently touched my shoulders and guided me into my bed pulling my blankets over me.

“Uh....thanks” I said awkwardly feeling like a 5 year old.

“Good night love” Jay whispered gently pecking my cheek before jumping out the window and shutting it tight.
