# 1 (The Man)
Innkeeper
Donghae tries to remember. He thinks... it's always been there. He just never looked.
He first properly looked last week.
It was night. Late. The sky was dark. Snow was falling. The streets were empty. Dusted. With snow. Descending snowflakes sparkled. Under the street lights.
Donghae had stopped. To admire it all.
Suddenly... another white caught his eye. Across the street. A man. In a white sweater. Jeans. A scarf. His chin was tucked into it. He was moving quickly. Hunched slightly. From the cold. His sneakered feet hurried. Donghae had a brief thought: he might slip--
The man did. Donghae heard his yelp. But then the man regained balance. Continued.
Donghae blinked.
The man was on the steps. In front of a black door. Then he'd opened it. Entered. Closed it.
-----
Donghae has walked by it. He lives nearby. Works nearby. He's been to restaurants. Just across the street. Down the block. He's gone past this place. Hundreds of times.
He never looked at it. At the door. At how... strange it is.
Is it an apartment? A store? A house? An office? There are no windows. No signs. Immediately to the right is a hair salon. To the left is an old shoe store. One could think... it's part of either.
But it's not. It's separate.
"Do you know what that is?" Donghae asks.
His friend's walking with him. They're on a break. To get a cup of coffee. Jinoo leans closer. Donghae repeats himself. Points so it's understandable. His voice comes out weaker. Jinoo glances back. His eyes wander. He frowns. Donghae smiles. Shakes his head. Jinoo didn't see it.
"Never mind..."
----
His voice's better. Hours later. Jinoo reminds him. Donghae laughs. Tells him.
Jinoo doesn't know. He says: maybe it's some lawyer's office.
Donghae thinks about the man. He seemed to have forgotten a jacket. He wasn't dressed like a lawyer. But... it was almost ten at night.
Who cares, anyway?
----
A Wizard's Welcome.
What does that mean? Donghae can't get any idea. Of what it may be referring to.
Does he... knock?
