As much as Shin Hye wanted to pretend that she does not recognised Jin Woo as long as she possibly could, she was well aware that the chance of it happening was practically zero. It did not help her situation one bit when the English teacher of their class commended Shin Hye’s work that morning because she wrote a good piece of essay based on the recommended literature, that the teacher had assigned during their previous lesson. The compliment for Shin Hye caused Jin Woo to smile upon hearing it, contrary to what she was feeling in regards to accomplishing yet another achievement ever since starting school here in South Korea.

The bell finally rang for lunchtime and just as Min Ho was about to walk over to Shin Hye’s desk, Jin Woo was already seated on the now empty chair in front of her.

“Excuse me, miss? Are you going to pretend to not know me?” asked Jin Woo with a gleeful smile on his face.

Shin Hye was still in a dilemma whilst looking at him straight in the eyes, unsure of how to answer him. Even though she wanted to have a fresh start by trying her hands at living a new life, denying his presence will only make matters worse knowing just how Jin Woo, the free-spirited, straightforward talking teen would react to her denial. During the time that this was happening, Min Ho was observing their interaction from his desk, anticipating Shin Hye’s answer, when she finally uttered,

“What are you doing here, Jin Woo?”

Only confirming to Min Ho that she had indeed knew their new classmate.

“Isn’t it obvious, Shin Hye?”

“Mm? What is?”

“I followed you her. What else?”

Shin Hye glared at him as she uttered, "You're crazy..." before she stood up from her desk and walked away, taking her book along with her. Min Ho immediately sprung from his seat and chased after her.

“Ssinz! Wait up!” but she continued to hasten her steps towards the stairs, causing Min Ho to hurry as well and barely managed to grab a hold of her wrist, making Shin Hye stopped in her tracks.

“Ssinz, are you alright?”

“I’m sorry, Min Ho… But I need some time alone…” as she uttered in an almost trembling voice. Stopping herself short from bursting into tears, still looking towards the front and preventing anyone to see her face.

The change in her tone of voice only caused Min Ho to hold her shoulder and turned her around despite the resistance that Shin Hye was putting against him. It was a first for him to see her that emotional, prompting him to ask her further,

“Are you acting this way because of the new kid?”

“No,” was all she could say before she insisted yet again that she wanted to be left alone.

Jin Woo witnessed the whole encounter from afar, as he watched
