LOOKING FOR LITERATE AU ROLEPLAY PARTNERS!

Description

literate au writers: are you out there?

hi, thanks for clicking!

i've been out of the 1x1 writing scene for a while now as i've been focusing solely on my WIP, but i really miss being to bounce ideas off & craft a plot from scratch with someone else.

i'll be honest in saying that i'm pretty picky with who i'm looking for, which is why i've chosen to make my own post instead of finding someone through their post instead. i have all summer to find someone and if i don't it's no biggie as i have my own projects to work on anyway. you're allowed to be picky, too, so have a look through the things i'm asking for and if i don't seem like the right type of person for you, that's okay!

a few things about me. please read everything before sending me a message.

  • i'm 20 years old, use any pronouns and my timezone is gmt+1. as i'm not keen on writing explicit in my plots (more on that later) i'm okay with accepting partners from around the age of 16. if you are under the age of 18 there will be no whatsoever; that's to look out for both of us, but if you're under 18 i'm sure you're used to hearing that already! i don't have any upper age limit.

  • as mentioned above, i'm not into and i won't write scenes or plots where it's the main focus. if this is a dealbreaker for you, there are more accommodating people under the tags! i don't mind implying or sprinkling light into our plot, but i'd appreciate it if you respected my wish to keep it to a minimum. in return i'll be more than happy to consider & respect your requests, too.

  • i don't have any triggers in regards to themes. please tell me if you do so we can keep the writing experience enjoyable for both of us; the last thing i want to do is make anyone uncomfortable.

  • as implied earlier i'm on my summer break so i'm not currently studying, however i've upped the hours on my part time job so naturally i won't be as free as i usually am. aside from this, i feel it's probably necessary to mention that i treat writing and roleplaying strictly as hobbies, not as commitments. and at the risk of sounding rude, i'll be blunt: i do not want to roleplay with someone who pressures me into matching their pace. i have seen posts where people ask for a reply a day. i will probably not be able to give you that. i will try to give you a reply once or twice a week, but i can't guarantee it—in return i promise high-quality, thought-out, long, literate replies.

  • similarly, you will not find me pressuring you for replies; it's not my style. if you want to move on from our roleplaying or feel i'm not the right partner for you/the plot isn't working etc, i'd appreciate you letting me know, but i'm honestly not that bothered if you ghost. (i think i've made my more casual approach to this all pretty clear by now, so i'll move on.)

  • my platforms are whatever i can access the easiest from my laptop, as i do all of my writing on there. line and discord are okay, and i'd also be down for writing on mewe, too. kakaotalk doesn't accept my phone number so i'm afraid that's non negotiable. if you have any other platforms you'd like to suggest, i'm open to hearing them, but please make sure i can access them on my laptop!

regarding my roleplay style, here's a few things i thought you'd like to know:

  • i'm a novella writer through and through. one liners and, truthfully, anything less than 3-4 paragraphs per reply just doesn't interest me.

  • i'm negotiable regarding povs; i enjoy experimenting with second pov just as much as i enjoy first or third pov. just let me know!

  • pairings wise i'm happy to go for bxb (as a preference) or straight. i'd normally be up for gxg but i haven't got any female muses atm. maybe when i get back into roleplaying a little more.

  • i haven't thought too seriously about faceclaims but the last faceclaims i used before i took a hiatus were bts's v, j-hope and jungkook. i might be open to negotiation on this; as i said i haven't thought much about it.

  • you can be absolutely whichever unproblematic k-pop idol you'd like so long as the between my character and yours isn't too severe. not too keen on k-actors or models etc. 18-28ish at the most, please! i have a couple of people i love to facechase (feel free to ask if you want any ideas) but i'll be cool with whoever you go for as long as they follow the criteria above, i promise!

i'm not too sure how to structure the next part but in descending order of current inspiration, here are the aus and more specific ideas i'm most interested in trying out.

  • medieval fantasy au, although if fantasy isn't your thing i'm happy to do a medieval realist plot instead. my absolute favourite trope ever in writing is exploring economic and social disparities between classes, and medieval aus are such an exciting sandbox to play around with those ideas in. i would also be open for exploring other class-dominant periods of history, such as victorian england.

  • modern (or perhaps futuristic) cityscape au with supernatural worldbuilding. maybe the supernatural element could be more traditional, like vampires, or perhaps a little more sci-fi like the androids from detroit become human or the replicants from the blade runner series.

  • western or neo western au. a specific idea i've had revolves around itinerant travellers who explore the world as they fancy, with no limits or time constraints. perhaps they live off the land and rely very little on people, or perhaps they exploit the people they come across (à-la the van der linde gang from the red dead redemption series).

  • i've been rewatching the hunger games recently, and i'd be down for exploring this universe in a roleplay setting.

  • apocalypse au. i'm rather shamelessly thinking entirely along the lines of the last of us

  • scp au. i'm not super into the lore (i know there's a lot to get into) but i'd be keen on butchering it just a little in the name of creative liberty.

  • something revolving around a religious cult. i have never ventured much into religious themes in my writing, but it might be interesting to try. perhaps a story revolving around a cult that worships a cosmic horror deity, like the cult of cthulhu from the cthulhu mythos?

  • mafia aus are fun, but a little old at this stage. i'm open to giving them a go, as they used to be one of my favourites, if we can give them a more original spin.

if you've managed to read through all of this and still think you'd like to reach out, i'd love to hear from you! please send me a private message on aff telling me about yourself, as i've done above (it doesn't need to be nearly as long as what i've written.) just make sure to include your chosen platform id, chosen faceclaim, which faceclaim you'd prefer i use and any aus i've listed that you find interesting enough to discuss.

thank you for reading!
