CHAPTER 17

 

 

( winter's pov from chapter 11 the day before the outing) 

 

 

Winter's Pov

 

 

The lights are flashing, hitting every corner of the bar, loud music can be heard, sweaty bodies, drunk people. 

 

I gulped my last shot for tonight. I hissed at the burning sensation. 

 

Naka upo lang kami dito ni Sunoo sa table na pina reserve namin kahapon.

 

"Teh uwi na tayo, kanina pa umuwi sila zuha." Sabay tapik ni sunoo sakin. I just shrugged him off. Di pa naman ako masyadong lasing. 

 

As I roam my sight, my gaze landed on two girls they were dancing to the music.

I squint my eyes to get a better view of them. They seem familiar. Whatever, kakalikutin ko nalang muna yung cp ko. 

 

"Omg Win! Yieeee ang sweet tignan moooo" Aray putcha ang sakit naman manghampas ng braso neto. 

 

(🎶Nalilito nalilito ang 'yong utak
 Kung tunay bang pag ibig 'to (tunay bang pag ibig 'to)🎶) 

 

Napatingin naman ako sa tinuturo ni bakla. 

 

(🎶Ano ba ang problema mo
Sabihin na ang totoo🎶) 

 

Sila nalang ang tao na nasa dance floor. Ang iba ay nasa gilid na tila may inaabangang k-drama. Naaaninag ko na ng mabuti ang mukha ng dalawang babae. 

Isa sa mga student ko ang isa. 

 

Si Yeji Chua

 

Di ko naman kilala ang isang babae na ngayon ay nakaluhod.

At nararamdaman nito🎶) 

 

May hawak itong bulaklak at nakaluhod lang na tila sinasamba ang babaeng nakatayo sa kanyang harapan. 

 

"Yeji? Will you let me break our girl code and let me date my best friend? Give me a chance to get to know you even more. Can you handle all this craziness that comes with me and be my girl?"

 

"Will you be girlfriend?"

 

(🎶Kung 'di pa aminin ang gusto
Baka kasi mawala na ako🎶) 

 

Everyone is silent. Waiting for the answer. 

 

Yeji kneeled down and embraced the shorter girl. 

 

"Yes"

 

"My answer is yes you stupid girl, Lets be crazy together."

 

She let go of the girl and touched her cheek that is glazing with tears. 

"Crazy inlove with each other"

 

 

And the crowd celebrates with them. The music was drowned by claps and cheers for the new couple. 

 

How heartwarming. People are accepting of the LGBTQIA+ community. 

 

*sniff*

 

Napalingon naman ako sa katabi kong umiiyak na pala. 

 

"Ang cute nila winty huhuhu, kailan kaya ako makakahanap ng ganyan? " Hay ewan ko sunoo di ako si tadhana para malaman kung kelan ang schedule mong mameet ang other half mo. 

 

Pagkatapos kong patahanin si Sunoo ay umuwi na kami.

(December 24) 

 

*Ting*

 

I heard a notification from my phone. 

 

Miss Yu: Merry Christmas din po Ma'am. 

 

Oh. Right. I replied on her story awhile ago. 

We've been talking since the outing. 
Surprisingly we have a lot in common and we can talk about different topics without getting bored. I guess I found myself a new friend. 

 

She's nice and funny. 

 

"Let's eat! Mamaya na kayo gumamit ng cellphone niyo." It's my mom. 

Other relatives started to gather at the dining table. 

It's Christmas eve, supposedly it's a time for celebration, joy, family and love. But in this house you can never feel that. 

 

They all started to talk about things that are happening in each of their families and lives and I couldn't care less. 

 

"Winter iha may boyfriend ka na ba? " suddenly the spotlight is on me. Jeez thanks Tito. 

 

"Tatandang dalaga po yang si ate. Napapagkamalan ngang Tomb--" bago pa matapos ang sinasavi ng kapatid kong si beomgyu ay nilagyan ko ng lechon ang bibig. 

 

I gave him a death glare. 

 

"I wanna focus on myself and career first" I replied to Tito. 

 

Aksidente namang nagkasalubong ang mga mata namin ni mom. As always lagi siyang nakabantay sa bawat galaw at sasabihin ko. 

 

I can never escape her. 

 

"That's good, very good." Nginitian ako ni tito 

 

"Alam niyo ba yung anak ni Mareng Ophelia na si Chantel Lesbian?" Pag uumpisa ni Tita sa bagong topic. 

 

"Oh? Yung Bff natin na nag abroad? Tsk yan kasi di umuuwi ng pinas yan tuloy di nabantayan ang anak niya. Sayang naman at Maganda si Chantel" My mom is always judging other people's business. 

 

"Oo jusko, Kung anak ko yan Nako papalayasin ko talaga. Nakakadiri" I gripped the fork I was holding after hearing what Tita said. 

 

"Si Win nga rin pinapalayo ko sa mga barkada niyang mga bakla. Ang tigas ng ulo baka mahawa siya sakanila" 

 

Wala na ba silang ibang topic at puro panghuhusga lang ang alam nila? 

 

That's it I've had enough. 

 

"Please don't talk about my friends like that. They're comfortable of what they are. It's their life" They can talk about me idc but they can't talk about my friends like that especially in front of me. 

 

My mom returned my death glare. 

"Who told you to speak like that to elders? Yan ba napapala mo kakasama mo sa mga kaibigan mo Winter?"

 

"I have every right to talk about what I wanna say, My friends doesn't deserve to be talked behind their backs like that. You don't know these people like I do. I won't let you talk about them. They are more like my family than this one."

 

And with that I stood up, grabbed my keys and left.

Why can't my life like this? 

I was born to live with chaos.

I know its kinda late but i need to go far away from that place. My anger and sadness brought me here. 

The beach. 

I'm glad that there was a hotel/resort nearby. 
Akala ko close lahat kasi holiday ngayon. 

*Ting*

 

My phone lit up and I saw the notification. 

 

Miss Yu: Hey! 

Miss Yu: Are you awake? 

It's Miss Yu we've been talking since the outing. Di naman bago sakin makipag kaibigan sa mga students basta hiwalay ang pagiging teacher ko at pagiging friend. 

Winter: Sure

Winter: Take a look at this

Winter: (sent a video) 

Miss Yu: Wow. Ganda ng buwan 

Miss Yu: Nasa beach kayo ma'am? Naririnig ko kasi yung alon. 

Winter: Yes

Miss Yu: Ma'am anong oras na. Baka mapano kayo jan. Baka may aswang jan ma'am uy. 

Miss Yu:  Where are you ma'am? I can go there. 

Winter: Im fine, You don't have to go here. 

Miss Yu: Nasa car na po ako Ma'am. 

Tsk she's so hard headed. 
I guess a companion won't hurt.

Muntik ng lumabas kaluluwa ko tas tatawanan lang ako ng lokong batang to?

"Sorry po ma'am" she bit her lip to stop herself from laughing.
