“Nakatulala ka na naman,” my best friend, Giselle, said as she nudged my side.

Pareho kaming nakaupo lang sa may open garden ng SM University. Tapos na rin naman na ang classes niya for the afternoon, and around 6:10 PM pa 'yung next nung akin so nag decide nalang kami na tumambay muna dito.

“Can you blame me?” I asked Gi incredulously and gestured for her to follow where I was supposed to be looking. “Just look at her! She's so… cool.”

Finally, sinundan niya rin ang tingin ko.

Batchmate namin ni Giselle.

She just got out of her car, with her bag carelessly slinging on her shoulder, and her gaze was simply focused on absolutely nothing. Her expression was just stoic and cold, and god, I thought she was so pretty.

“Cool nga, hindi ka naman pinapansin.” hagikgik ni Giselle sa tabi ko.

“Hey! We talk sometimes,” I clarified.

It's true. 

Winter might seem quiet and mean to other people, but no, she was far from that. 

She's just… reserved.

I've never seen her interact with someone else before, and tuwing break, never ko siyang nakita sa cafeteria. I figured na lumalabas siya ng campus.

“Isang tanong isang sagot lang naman lagi ang ganap sa inyo,” Giselle laughed even more.

“Oh, I'm glad you find this amusing.” I rolled my eyes.

When Giselle finally sobered up, she suddenly nudged my shoulder. “Kasi naman, Rina! Just ask her out already!” 

“I can't!”

“Why not?”

“I'm…” I paused when something else grabbed my attention. 

Winter was walking towards the building behind the tree where Gi and I were sitting. 

I just stared at her while she walked, and when her gaze landed on me, my cheeks immediately felt hot when she just gave me a quick nod and a timid smile.

OH MY GOD.

“...shy.” I trailed off dreamily.

WINTER KIM JUST SMILED AT ME!

“You are a useless biual.” kinurot ni Giselle ang bewang ko, making me flinch out of my trance.

“Ouch!”

“Just ask her out!”

“She's just so cool, Gi…” I sighed helplessly.

They look at me

“What? Why, what's up?” someone, most probably, Yeji, asked.

I have no idea where they were, nor do I even care. I was too busy looking at my crush.

“Just look. It's happening right now.”

“What is?”

“Look at Rina!”

“What– oh, I see.”

Bahala kayo diyan.

As usual, Winter was doing absolutely nothing. Nakaupo lang siya sa seat sa harap ko, but from a different row. She was staring blankly at the board while nonchalantly spinning her pen in between her fingers.

So cool… and pretty.

Suddenly, it's like Winter felt my gaze on her back. She glanced at me and raised a brow in amusement, making me blush
