At a very not so peaceful day, inside a very suffocating house— Winter finds herself once again, putting a pillow on top of her face at least to lessen the sound she hears.

Ano bang tunog? No other than her parents’ catfight.

“You’re always like this, Helena!” Her dad exclaimed, before hearing a vase being shattered. 

"That's right, Winter. Here we go again." She thought to herself, as she hears nonstop cursing, and yelling. It was so bad that it became a habit, that she got used to it. She quickly got up her bed, before rushing towards the bathroom to wash her face, at least. Dahil ngayong araw na ito, walang bago pero mayroon siyang plano; at ‘yon ay ang umalis siya sa bahay na walang dulot sa kaniya—

kundi pagod.

She wiped her face softly with her facial towel, before staring at her bruises in front of the mirror. Bruises by who? By a woman she doesn’t even know she picked a fight with inside the bar. Ni hindi niya rin masisi ang sarili dahil nanguna siya sa gulo, and her excuse… 

ay dahil naghahanap siya ng mapaglalabasan niya ng galit. 

She wore her basic croptop, shorts, and not even a lip tint nor a lip balm to hide her paleness. She's too drained for that. For once, she wants to be herself. She looked at her phone before opening her door, and it said 3:49 PM. Yes, she wakes up this late ever since she graduated from College. Her father, who’s a basagulero, yet who provides everything for his family— never allows her to work so. The only thing that's giving her light somehow, are those friends who save her every single time. 

But that torch even would die soon too, dahil ang mas mabigat pa para sa kanya, 

is that her friends do have their own lives now. 

She shook her head bago pa tumulo ang mga luha niya, and rushed downstairs to get her car keys and sneak out her ATM. As soon as she stepped downstairs, a bunch of broken glass, plates, and any other things that her deadly father can break was what greeted her. Like what she'd always say, paulit-ulit na lang.
