Lee Soobin is in utter disbelief as the oracle announces that she’s the mate of no other than Kim Jongin. The annoying next Alpha in line who makes her blood boil in annoyance. Her rival and the man she swore she would never like in any lifetime.

Before anyone can ask her about the unbelievable news, she walks out of the hall. She gestures for the taxi just parked right outside of the council building.

Entering the uni with fast steps, she sees her best friend Yumi in the busy hallway. “What’s with the foul mood, dude?” She asks.

Soobin scowls and proceeds to the stairs. Their room is located in the second floor. “You didn’t attend the ceremony earlier so you don’t have any idea. They freaking announced the identity of Jongin’s mate.”

“So, is it you?” Yumi doesn’t have any idea that her joke is on point. Annoyed, Soobin elbows her best friend’s rib earning a cry from her.

“I want to hide for a while. Maybe it’ll change the prophecy?”

“For real?!” Yumi squeals, holding on to her aching rib.

Soobin nods. “The guy I hate is my ing mate. That's what the oracle said.”

“Is there any possibility for you to see him in a new light? Don't you feel that there are some changes in your heart after learning that he's your mate?”

They reach the second floor and turn to the right to enter the room.

“Change? Do you expect me to fall in love with Kim Jongin? That's so ridiculous!” She shakes her head. “Over my dead body.” Just in time, she bumps her face in someone’s sturdy chest. Soobin looks up and finds Jongin's eyes looking back at her. She blinks at first then she pushes him away, not intending to feel the muscles beneath his sweater.

“You are everywhere, Jongin. Aren’t you in the ceremony? Why the hell are you so early in class?!” She shouts at him. All of the students’ attention are on them but they both don’t seem to care.

“Took you a long time to arrive. I was waiting for you. I have to say something.”

“I don't.” Soobin says with a mocking smile. “So, go ahead and disappear. Get out of my sight.”

Somehow, the usual sharp expression on his face is not present. Instead, an unreadable emotion flashes in his eyes. Before she can further analyze, Jongin grabs her wrist and pulls her with him.
