There is a new part-timer in our Ramyeon shop. My dad tells me the news one Monday morning while I am opening the door, about to get out. I'm running late for school. I bite down on my toast and pull it out of my mouth, questioning him. "Why didn't you tell me about this beforehand? I told you I can help—"

"Go to school." He says coldly, dismissing me with a waving hand that meant 'no, no more arguments so leave'.

Like the bratty student that I am, I stomped my feet on the floor and slammed the door shut. Now that I am fuming in anger, I couldn't care less about class. Stuffing the toast back to my mouth, I walk anyway, shouting at my dad in my imagination because that old man never listens to me. Even my mother.

It's true that I'm clumsy. That I've broken more bowls than I have served. Our business is booming, I could tell that based on the long line of customers waiting to get inside our shop, mostly at lunch and dinner time. Of course, we're all thankful. This business means everything to us. However, my brother couldn't help them anymore since he recently transferred to Seoul to attend a university there. Hence, my parents obviously gained the overload of work. I have heard them talking about hiring a part-timer but I differed in opinion and told them that there can be a lot of issues like a lazy worker or someone who may steal from our shop.

Confidently, I told them I can help but they didn't agree with that suggestion. It seems like they don't want me to break more bowls.

I chew on the toast until I finish it, a frown etched on my face. I rode the bus to school in a total bad mood.

"Hey!" My friend Eunsoo calls for my attention, nudging me by the elbow. "Hey!"

I continue to ignore her, my eyes focused on the book I am reading. To my utter dismay, she grabs my precious book and hides it behind her back.

Just when I'm in the thrilling part...

"What's your problem? It's lunch time. Let me read in peace."

"Exactly!" She exclaims dramatically, her brows furrowed at me. "We should be discussing important matters right now."

Usually, I am used to her annoying stints but, one— I'm dispirited because my parents hired a part-timer (a freaking move I have rejected countless times), two— the nosy Eunsoo revealed to our friends the identity of the guy I've been crushing on. I'm still mad at her for doing so and three— I'm reading a good romance book. Greg is about to kiss LJ and then—

Interrupting me from my thoughts, Eunsoo puts the book on my desk and cups my cheeks tightly so that it makes my face look like a duck. Right away, I buck away from her hold and slap her hand as a form of revenge.

"What the hell do you want?!" I half yell.

She narrows her eyes on me. "You're not listening, obviously." Eunso bites her lower lip before she starts to speak again. "I'm sorry."

"If it's about the fact that you told Jiyeon and Soyul about—"

Joining her hands in a form of apology, she confesses. "It seems like Jiyeon said it to Jongin by accident. You know, like a really really bad slip up." Eunsoo stares at my hand into a tight ball as she continues with her words. "Then Soyul tried to hide it by saying Jiyeon was just joking. But you know, everyone knows that Jiyeon is—"

"This is why I said not to tell them!" I stand up, my veins pulsing in madness.

I officially hate this day. I hate Monday. I hate the fact that no one listens to my opinions and decisions, may it be a small thing or a big one.
