Flashback (K's POV)

I'm in 4th grade and I hate school, why? Oh, because of the stupid family tree that was assigned to us yesterday

"Nanay, can i ask you something?" I asked our cook

"Sige hija, ano ba yun?"

"Nasan po si mommy?" I asked and pinakita ko ang paper na draft ng family tree ko but then she suddenly looked pale and walk away

"You really wanna know?" A very manly voice asked

"Because of you nawala ang mommy mo, kung hindi dahil sayo, dapat kasama ko pa ang asawa ko!" His grip on my arm got tighter and tighter

"D-dad nasasaktan po ako, please let me go!" I cried

 

 

*Slap*

 

 

"Don't call me that! Hindi kita anak! At sana ikaw na lang ang kinuha hindi ang asawa ko!" He shouted and pulled me dahilan ng pagkadapa ko sa floor

I saw ate irene peeking at us from her room but when she noticed that i was looking at her, dali dali siyang pumasok at sinarado ang pinto

 

 

- the next day -

 

 

"Hey trash!" One of my classmate shout— or should i say called for me?

"Kawawa ka naman wala kang mommy!" Pang aasar ng friend niya. I hate everyone around me

I saw Nite. I immediately smiled, she's looking at them while shaking her head.

"What a freak! Nakikita na naman niya yung imaginary friend niya!" Pang aasar sakin ni charles and all of the student looking at us laughed

I saw Nite pointing at charles and i look back at him, he was pissing himself!

"Yuck charles, you're a big boy na you should go to boy's room when you want to pee!" I exclaimed pointing at his pants

Nite was laughing beside the lockers while charles ran because of embarassment

Students who were gathering around us ay nag kayna kanya nang alis, i put all of my books sa locker

"Ms. Yu?" I heard someone called me

I close my locker to see the guidance couselor

"That witch just cursed me ma'am!" Charles said while pointing at me

 

 

Good lord why does kids at my age like this? How stupid can they be? I thought to myself

 

 

"What kind of curse exactly Mr. Palmero?" The guidance counselor asked

"S-she made me pee on my pants just by looking at me!"

"WELL IT'S NOT MY FAULT THAT YOU'RE STUPID AND YOU CAN'T PROPERLY PEE ON ONE OF THE CUBICLES AT BOY'S RESTROOM!" I burst

"She called me stupid!" He dramatically said

"Well, i didn't complain when you and your friends called me names earlier."

"Ms. Yoo that's enough" the counselor warned me

"That was badass" Nite said habang nag lalakad kami pabalik sa room ko

"Badass? What's that?" I asked her

"Badass! Like hmm.... Pinagsamang cool, awesome and..... Astig? Yun!" She explained

 

 

 

  - 10th grade (graduation) -

 

 

Elementary, High school and I graduated with high honors. No one came. No one from my family came para mag sabit ng medal sa akin. There's no shadow of my dad, my sister. None, nada, wala.

 

But, there she is! Nite. My unofficial guardian angel.

 

"Halika, sumama ka sakin" she said

"Where are we going? Kikitain ba natin si mom?" Silly question

"Basta! Sumama ka na lang hehe."

I just followed her, we walk to the school's field. It's just really big field and uh... Forest? Kinda.

"Hep! Wait muna, pikit ka!" Excited na sabi niya

"Pag yan kalokohan ha" i glared at her and closed my eyes

 

 

I felt her hand holding mine, as she pulls me, everything's quiet except for Nite's giggles

 

 

"Okay! Stop ka jan, and open mo na mata mo"

 

 

Wow.

 

 

"I— w-woah, I didn't know we have a field of daisies here" I said in awe

I looked at Nite, she was just staring at me with a big smile.

 

 

"Anak?" I heard a soft lovely voice

 

 

I turned around, to my surprise, it was a woman with the same height as me, wearing a long white dress

 

 

 

She looks so familiar

 

Wait–

 

 

She?

 

 

she looks exactly like me....

 

 

"M-mom?" I asked and she nodded her head

I ran to her and she enveloped me with a tight hug. Very comforting hug.

"Shh, my baby krystal. Ang laki mo na anak" she said as she keeps on kissing my head

"Mom" i called for her again and i keep crying on her shoulder

"I'm proud of you anak"

Her words keeps on repeating inside my head

"No! They don't love me, mom! If th—

"Shh– krystal, Anak, trust me they do. They do love you"

 

I pulled out of her hug and look behind me, huh?

 

 

Nasan si Nite?

 

 

 

I looked back again at mom— what? Nasan si mom?

I look around just to see nothing. No daisy field, no nite, no mom.

 

 

"Stal?!"

"KRYSTAL! OH MY GOD!"

"Why are you here? We're so worried bigla ka na lang nawala!"

"A-aeri, si mom. She was just right here!  With nite!"

I looked at her, I can't hear what she was saying.

There's a loud frequency that I keep on hearing

"Krystal!"

"Stal!!"
 

 

 

Present (still Krystal's POV)

"Stal!! Huy!" I heard aeri waking me up

"Go away, aeri!"

"Bahala ka jan, uubusin na namin yung niluto ni dan ha"

Oh ! I just remembered what i said to her!

"Tabi!" Sigaw ko as I ran and accidentally pushed aeri aside

"H-hoy!" I shouted as soon as I reached the dinning area

Wait. I heard her thoughts? I can hear it again!
