[Lee Residence]
After parking the car, Mia urged Sophie to get out of the car “My parents are going to love you, Sophie”
“I’ve met them, you know. They call you every week, I’ve said hello to them before and I know their names” Sophie then pointed out
“Yeah but you haven’t met them virtually and this is the first time you’ll be spending time with them” Mia said, taking her hand and leading her to the door
“We’re here!” Mia announced.
“How was the trip, pumpkin?” her dad asked
“It was okay. We had to stop a couple of times and switch but we got here in one piece” Mia replied
“Sophie?” her dad asked
“Yes, Hello Mr. Lee”
“Please, you can call me Steve or Uncle Steve” he said, patting Sophie on the shoulder Mia’s mom then emerged from the stairs
“Sophie! It’s nice to finally see you” she said, welcoming Sophie with a hug
“Hi, Mrs. Lee”
“Oh, you stop it! You can call me Auntie Val or Valerie. It’s so nice to finally see you in person.” Valerie said
“Hey mom. Do you have anything to eat? We’re starving”
“Dinner will be ready by 8. I have cornbread in the kitchen, you and Sophie and have a slice before you freshen up for dinner.” Valerie said
“Right, why don’t you two head on to the kitchen and I’ll unload your bags” Steve said and got Mia’s car keys. The two then head to the kitchen, get 2 slices of cornbread and head up to Mia’s room. “I told my mom that we can share the room but she insisted on preparing the guest room for you but of course you’re welcome to crash anytime you want.” Mia said, giving Sophie a peek of her room. They then went to the other end of the hall “This is where you’ll be staying. My room is just 2 doors down, the room beside you is Eunhyuk’s room. Bathroom is beside the stairs but don’t worry, you have a bathroom of your own. Oppa uses that bathroom since his lazy doesn’t like to walk so don’t forget to lock your door once he’s here but for now, just chill.” Mia said with a smile.
“I’ll call you for dinner, ‘kay?” she added.

The dinner was fun and the food was great, Valerie and Steve prepared barbecue. They're trying out the recipes they wanted to serve for Mia’s coming home / 4th of July party. They were all asking Sophie about her job and where she and Mia met. They told her about university and Sophie’s house.
“The house actually belongs to my great aunt, and I lived there for a few months before moving to college. My grandma left me some money before she passed so I used that to pay some of the amount when my great aunt told me she’s selling the property. I’ve been paying her every month since then.”
“Oh my god, Sophie. How are you paying for all that?”
“My sister owns a cafe. She’s helping me pay off the house too” Sophie said
“You didn’t tell me you have a sister?”
“You never asked”
“Does oppa know?”
“He didn’t ask me either” Sophie said, taking a spoonful of chili
“This is the best chili I’ve ever tasted” she said to Valerie
“Thank you Sophie,” Valerie replied.

The week went by so fast, Mia toured Sophie around town, and she brought her to her favourite ice cream shops, restaurants and places that she used to go to when she was a kid. They even went to Mia's High School and even met some of Mia's friends and teachers. The week went by so quick and Sophie's having the best time. Steve and Valerie has been treating her so well, they even asked her for some of her favourite dishes and Valerie made a few of them for her.

They were having meat loaf for dinner, Mia was telling them about the meat loaf that Sophie makes for her back home. “It was the best meatloaf I've ever had… besides yours of course” Mia told her mom
“It was my mom's recipe. I make it every year for her birthday” Sophie shyly said
“You haven't told us about your family, Sophie?” Steve asked Mia told them it’s a topic Sophie’s not a fan of discussing but Sophie said “its fine…”
“My family and I moved here when I was 12. My dad is an engineer and my mom had a small business. I told you about my sister, she's in Italy now and we talk once in a while but she’s busy with her business. She moved there when our mom passed away 8 years ago. My dad remarried a few years after my mom passed and I think he and his wife have 2 boys now, we haven’t been in touch also… we’re not on the best terms with his new wife but my dad sends me pictures of my brothers from time to time.” Sophie said, letting out a laugh, her lips forming a smile. She then looked at Valerie, Steve and Mia. Their faces were blank and Valerie was about to cry “Oh my god, I’m sorry I didn't mean to spoil the fun…” she stood up, “I'm sorry… please continue, I’m going to use the restroom” she excused herself and went to the bathroom in her room. She then took out her phone and opened her messaging app, she saw a new message from 2 months ago, her sister greeting her a happy birthday. She said thanks with a heart emoji.
