Sometime in November.

It was late in the evening, Irene is comfortably sitting on their bed holding her laptop on her lap checking her mails for one last time before she calls it a day. She heard the bathroom door click telling her that her girlfriend had just finished taking her night shower.

The sound of footsteps making their way near her never went unnoticed, still her eyes locked onto the screen of her device.

“So, what do you think of coming to Canada for the holidays?”

Irene, who has her whole attention on her laptop in front of her quickly spun her head to her girlfriend’s question – staring at the blonde with complete surprise written all over her feature, “Canada? For Christmas?”

“Until the New Year too.”

Irene tore her gaze away from her blonde girlfriend and stared mindlessly at the screen of her laptop – over the course of their two year relationship this is the first time Wendy offered her to meet her family, it’s not because Wendy doesn’t want to, it’s just they live thousands of miles away from them and they pretty much have busy schedules. She has met Wendy’s parents years before, when they were trainees, and this is the first time that she’s going to meet Wendy’s family not as her bandmate but as her girlfriend. If she says yes to this trip, she’s going to meet her lover’s family and she’s going to have the chance to see where her girlfriend grew up for the first time.

“Are you sure?” Of course, there are hesitations there a few things that she could list down as of this moment: one, the fact that this is literally the first time she’s going to meet Wendy’s family, two, Canada is really not near South Korea – so if things go south she has nowhere to go, and lastly, going to Canada would mean that she’d not be spending Christmas and New Year with her family in Daegu.

“Yes, my parents practically begged me to let you come and I thought that it’s plausible since we celebrated Christmas and New Year at your home last year.” Wendy gave her a smile masked with confidence but with every second that Irene became silent Wendy’s poised smile became a small frown. “Hey, it’s okay to say no, I’ll tell them that you–”

“No, no. It’s not that, I’m just thinking.” Irene cut off with a frantic shake of her head, in hopes to tell that whatever Wendy’s thinking is not what she thinks. She has now her laptop closed setting it aside, her full attention to her girlfriend and their ongoing conversation, “So, they begged you to make me come to Canada?”

“Kind of, they really want to see you. Oh, and you don’t have to worry about telling your parents on not spending the holidays with them, I already asked for their permission and they said yes.”

Irene let out a light chuckle, “Of course they would. They like you – no, scratch that they love you. Too much, to the point they were hogging you the while we’re there.”

She heard Wendy laugh, shrugging her shoulders after, “Well, can’t help it. It’s part of my charms.”

Irene rolled her eyes at the blatant confidence that her girlfriend is sporting, shoving her lightly by the shoulders earning a soft chortle from the latter. She watched as Wendy leaned herself forward while staring at her with a wide smile plastered on her face, she reciprocated the same wide smile and cupped Wendy’s face with both of her hands, leaning in as she gave her lover a chaste kiss on her lips.

“You’re so full of yourself.” Irene whispered as she pulled back a bit, her breath warm as it hit Wendy’s lips.

Wendy’s eyes traveled from Irene’s lips to the brunette’s pools of brown, “So, is that a yes? You’re going to Canada with me for the holidays?”

Irene grinned with how cute Wendy’s eyes were glistening with eagerness as she fired her questions, “I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

“Thank you, I promise to make this the best trip for you.” Wendy beamed the moment she heard Irene’s approval, giving her butterfly kisses letting her lover know how happy she is for their upcoming trip.

“I’m sure it’ll be. Now, how about we get some fun for tonight?”

Irene finds it amusing how quickly she was straddled by Wendy the moment she let out the last word, even more so when the cute expression that her lover had earlier was now replaced with a wide and suggestive smile. She can think about the trip later but for now her only goal is to switch their positions.
