Jihyo glanced at Jongkook, appalled at his audacity to sing for Somin. Granted, they were working, but she couldn’t help but get annoyed that, on the show, she’s not anymore the only woman who’s become the object of Jongkook’s song.

She reached into her bag, pulling out a badge, and she called out to Jongkook to give it to him. She reasoned out that it had been wrong for him to sing to two women, and everybody looked at her like she had grown horns. 

By this time, the members and the crew already knew that Jihyo and Jongkook had been dating. They talked to Bopil, Seokjin, and Jaesuk separately, inviting the three to dinner, so they could reassure them all that their relationship, no matter the outcome, would not affect their work.

As for the rest of the members and crew, Jihyo and Jongkook had announced it over one lunch break during the filming of an episode where there were no guests. Sechan immediately went up to Jongkook, confirming that the suspicious dishes had been, in fact, the byproduct of the couple’s dates at his home. Somin hugged her unnie, and gushed about how well-suited Jongkook and Jihyo were, before voicing out her jealousy that Jihyo finally found someone while she was still single. On the side, Jaesuk, Seokjin, and Haha bickered about who among them should receive credit for this, eventually bringing in Kwangsoo to decide once and for all. It was a command Kwangsoo merely disregarded while laughing. 

So when Jihyo handed over the badge, the members felt they shouldn’t be surprised, except she had always been level-headed unless she transformed into Bad Jihyo for the show. Somin looked warily at Jihyo, and masked her curiosity by putting on a smile. 

Jongkook just laughed, which annoyed her even further. He felt quite proud that he could elicit such feelings from Jihyo, but he was quickly taken out of his thoughts when Jaesuk brought up Eunhye. He knew it was Jaesuk’s petty attempt to ride on Jihyo’s apparent jealousy and get her to give Jongkook another badge. Thankfully, Jihyo just laughed, and they moved on to discussing her entrance. 

He wanted to get back at her, and throw her off her game. So when Jihyo’s entrance was announced, Jongkook immediately walked up to her and carried her in his arms. Jihyo’s smile in that moment was so genuine, that the other members couldn’t help but smile at the sight. They were rendered speechless for a moment at the openness of the couple’s regard for one another, but thankfully, given the theme of the episode, they can all attribute it to acting.

There was a beat of silence, after Jongkook had put Jihyo down on her seat. Seokjin felt the need to say something, and the best he could come up with was a comparison between Jihyo’s face and an acorn. 

That successfully pulled everyone out of their temporary daze, and earned Seokjin another badge from Jihyo. 

Since their relationship had been revealed to the cast and crew of Runningman, Jihyo and Jongkook left the set together. Jongkook would then drop off Jihyo at her place, or they would first go out for dinner or simply hang out. That day had not been any different.

As Jongkook skillfully weaved their way out of Gyeonggi-do into Seoul, Jihyo fell asleep. It had been a tiring episode for her, specially because she and Somin had been the focus of the show. They had to prepare the questions for the second mission, and scour the building to find the whistles in the final mission. It all worked out in the end, as Jihyo spared herself from getting the penalty next week, and she had a new turntable and bouquet of flowers sitting at the back of Jongkook’s car. Jongkook smiled at the memory of winning today’s race, and having the privilege of handing Jihyo the bouquet of flowers.

Soon enough, they reached Mapo-gu, and Jongkook drove to the parking lot of Jihyo’s apartment. Jihyo was still asleep, but a faint snore could be heard from her. Jongkook laughed, and went down the car to open Jihyo’s door. That still didn’t do the trick; Jihyo was still dozed off in dreamland.
