Why notThe sun peeked through the close curtains and directed its light upon Jongkook’s face, enough to take him away from his slumber. As he slowly opened his eyes, he realized how beautiful it was to wake up by Jihyo’s side.
The night before had been quite long. After they reconciled, they opted to stay by the poolside for a few more minutes before Jongkook walked Jihyo to the door of her room. He kissed her cheek and bid her good night, but, when he was about to leave, Jihyo asked for a few minutes to get something for him. She came back out in her pajamas, key card and toiletry bag in hand.
Jongkook looked at her with questioning eyes, but Jihyo only grabbed his hand, and insisted that she didn’t want to part with him for the night. “We fought, Oppa. That felt so lonely. I always run to Kwangsoo when I get into trouble, but that’s also how I know that I’m desperate for companionship,” she said flatly.
Jongkook felt guilty and apologized, but Jihyo just looked at him with her big brown eyes, “If you feel bad, Oppa, then you wouldn’t let me sleep alone tonight.” How was he supposed to turn down such a request? He led her down the hallway back to his room, basking in the thought that he would get a good night’s rest by her side.
When Jongkook woke up, his girlfriend was still sleeping, her head perched on top of his chest, her hands holding on to his waist in quite a possessive hold. Jongkook could hear her slight snoring, as she was facing him in her sleep, opened a bit. He chuckled at the adorable sight.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. The person on the other end knocked urgently. Jongkook feared that it could be the crew, until he realized that they were still on vacation, and they were continuing their filming the following week.
Jihyo stirred up from her sleep, waking up from the noise. She looked up at Jongkook with questioning eyes, but he didn’t have answers for her either.
“Oppa…” she whispered, her eyes clearly alarmed as the knocking continued.
Jongkook stood up, and walked towards the door. He peeked to see who dared disturb their slumber, but whoever it was hid away from the door’s line of sight.
So, he slightly opened the door, unknowing that Donghoon, Kwangsoo, Somin, and Sechan were stowed away on the side. Donghoon and Sechan took advantage of the door being held weakly ajar, and shoved their way into Jongkook’s hotel room. Kwangsoo and Somin quickly followed them inside, as Jongkook was backed into the wall behind the door.
“Aha!” Donghoon pointed at Jihyo accusingly, as she tried to hide herself under the blankets.
Jongkook jogged back into the area, smacking the back of Donghoon’s head and crossing his arms as he stared at their annoying friends. “What the hell are you doing here?” Jongkook asked them.
“Well, if you didn’t notice, it’s already almost lunchtime, and this is the first time that none of you took advantage of the breakfast buffet,” Donghoon explained, rubbing the back of his head as it throbbed from Jongkook’s exertions.
That prompted Jihyo to check the time, and sure enough it was a good half-hour before lunch. Somin sat beside Jihyo, enveloping her in a hug as a form of greeting, but opted to keep her silence as she watched her oppas continue the interrogation.
“Now that I answered your question, it’s my turn to ask,” Donghoon continued. Jongkook visibly flinched, knowing his best friend would definitely take every opportunity to ; Kwangsoo and Sechan were already sniggering in the corner. “What’s she doing here?” Donghoon finally dropped the question, as he pointed at Jihyo.
Jongkook blushed and was rendered speechless, keeping his arms crossed as the silence stretched on. Jihyo interrupted, “Yah Donghoon-oppa, why are you talking about me as if I’m not here?”
Donghoon turned his attention to her, “Geurae. So you answer me then. What are you doing here?” All the maknaes were looking at her now.
“Well obviously, I slept here,” she nonchalantly said, as Jongkook turned three shades redder. Somin’s jaw dropped and Kwangsoo and Sechan gave each other a high-five as they continued to laugh.
Donghoon’s face almost gave way to a smile but he wanted to continue the useless skit, and directed his attention to Jongkook. He playfully grabbed Jongkook by the neckline of his shirt, “Yah!! What the hell did you do with my Mapo-gu sister?!”
Jongkook kept his silence, but pushed Donghoon away easily. He wanted to laugh at the ridiculousness of it all; both he and Jihyo were already adults, for crying out loud. But, at the same time, he felt stupid for having been caught in bed with his girlfriend at this hour of the day. He’d had relationships before, but he had never been this careless to be caught by his friends.
Jihyo stood up, and put herself in between Donghoon and Jongkook. “Oppa,” she said to Donghoon. “Just quit it! Arasseo. You caught us. Stop teasing Jongkook-oppa, will you? What are you really here for?”
Somin jumped in, “Ah Unnie, we were going to invite you and Jongkook-oppa to go biking today.” She handed her phone to Jihyo to show the place they were planning to visit, as she rambled on, “Well a
