minjeong whined for the nth time as she held on the box of chocolate flavored cupcakes that her best friend, aeri, has given her. the japanese girl woke up earlier than usual and decided to ruin the blonde's deep slumber by ringing their doorbell nonstop, asking her if she could use their kitchen to bake.

“aeri, if you like her, why don't you just tell her personally? do you really have to use me as a messenger?” minjeong asked, sighing while staring at the white door of the student council room.

“i don't have the guts to tell her that. just give her the box of cupcakes and tell her it's from an admirer. come on, help a friend out,” aeri suggested before knocking on the door three times and running away from the petite blonde.

the doorknob twisted, revealing a smaller girl with an enthusiastic smile plastered on her face.

“hello, do you need anything?”

minjeong spaced out.

if anything, she really disliked having to talk to strangers. the girl only does it when it's necessary.

“uhm, hello?”

oh, damn. right, the cupcakes.

“oh– uh, is president yoo inside?” minjeong asked politely, her fingers fiddling with the box of cupcakes. the other girl stared at the flushed face of the blonde, then to the box, then to the blonde again.

a sheepish smile curved up on her lips.

“jimin unnie! i think you have a new admirer. i haven't seen this face before,” the girl yelled, making minjeong panic.

“n–no! you got the wrong idea. i'm not an admirer. someone just asked me to–”

minjeong was cut off when the girl grabbed her  hand and pulled her inside the student council room. different pairs of eyes darted to minjeong's direction and it just made her stomach churn.

so these people are the members of the student council.

they look so scary.

are they going to eat me?

why are they staring at me like that?!

god, if you're hearing me, please help me.

“yizhuo, i told you to keep your voice down whenever you're– oh, minjeong? what brings you here?” jimin walked closer to the blonde with a questioning look. she'd be lying if she said she didn't miss the younger girl's presence. minjeong already gave the raven-haired girl her number, but she didn't have the confidence to send her a text.

“oh my god, the both of you know each other? so that explains why,” yizhuo said, grinning.

jimin tilted her head in confusion.

“explains what?”

before yizhuo could speak, minjeong immediately gave the box of cupcakes to jimin who was obviously clueless with whatever was happening. she unconsciously held on the box, still giving the blonde a questioning look.

“i just came here to give that to you. it's from an admirer of yours. they baked them for you this morning. d–don't get me wrong! i don't admire you at all.. wait, i mean i do– but not in the way.. ugh, never mind.”

minjeong collected all the strength that she has left and rushed towards the slightly opened door of the student council room. in just a few seconds, the blonde disappeared from the council members' sight and they couldn't help but to laugh.

“she's defensive,” yeji commented.

“totally. she probably baked those for jimin and was planning to lie about a friend admiring this beauty over here when it's actually her that likes the president,” ryujin followed.

“what surprises me is they actually know each other. care to explain, unnie?” yizhuo asked, wiggling her eyebrows to tease the older girl. jimin just rolled her eyes in response before returning back to her desk. it's a good thing that each of the council members' desks have some sort of tinted glass around them to help them focus with their work.

the raven-haired girl stared at the box of cupcakes with a small smile curving up on her lips. the image of minjeong blushing like crazy as she tried to deny yizhuo's accusations appeared in her head and she couldn't help but to giggle.

ah, kim minjeong. what are you doing to me?

jimin then opened the box and was surprised to see the inside of it. there were six beautifully made cupcakes, even the icing looked grandiose and jimin couldn't help but to wonder if those were really homemade or made to order.

the raven-haired girl just shrugged her thoughts and decided to enjoy the simple gift. usually, jimin never accepts presents from her admirers no matter how expensive or beautifully made they are. there was this one time where she rejected a classy yves saint laurent bag that was given by an admirer of hers back in high school. she just didn't like receiving gifts even if it was from people that she's close with. thankfully, her only friends understood that and have never given her any.

it's not like she didn't appreciate the effort at all. jimin just didn't like random people to buy or make stuff for her because she feels like there are other ones who deserve it more. as for her friends, she just constantly tells them that quality time is better than materialistic things.

“these are really good,” jimin whispered softly as she took a bite on the cupcake. it somehow energized her to finish all the paperworks that were given by the head office.

after almost an hour, jimin didn't realize that she emptied the whole box. she sighed before throwing it on the small trash can under her desk.

“i have finished all the remaining paperworks. my next class will be starting soon so i guess i will be seeing you guys later,” jimin said as she held onto the doorknob.

“sure, go ahead. take care jimin!” lia dismissed with a soft smile.

jimin walked towards her locker and typed her password. as soon as it opened, she grabbed the things that she needed for her class in biology. jimin was about to leave when she heard incoherent whispers beside the last locker. to feed her curiosity, she walked closer to eavesdrop.

“did you give the cupcakes to president yoo?”

“of course i did. now don't push me to do stuff like those anymore. i told you already that you should confess to her personally if you really like her. the student council members are scary!”

jimin bit her lower lip, feeling her heart beat faster than its normal rate. she took a small peak, making sure that she won't be seen.

what the.. aeri? minjeong?

“you're the best, minjeongie! i sure hope president yoo loved them. i poured my heart and soul just to be able to bake those cupcakes,” aeri said before hugging her best friend.
jimin rested her back on the last locker, surprised by what she has witnessed.

those weren't from minjeong?

aeri.. likes me?

the raven-haired girl didn't know wh
