Chapter EIGHT: Friends
FanmadeChaeyoung shifts in her sleep. She is now face up, her long legs extend and reach her unnie that is vigorously playing games on her phone. Her mind was rambling and dreaming of that very good kimchi stew that she just tried a few hours ago. “That was really good” she spoke to herself, slowly regaining consciousness. Suddenly, a few drops of water start falling down her cheeks. She positioned her right forearm above her eyes, trying to hide her tears. This was something that strangely never happened to her: yes, she was a crybaby. Yes, she loved food with all her life. Yes, she was usually on the verge of crying when she ate something good; however, she rarely actually cried. The thoughts in her head stopped her efforts to continue sleeping so she resolved it was time to wake up.
The new sound in the room was noticed by Jisoo. The unnie turned to her left and found Chaeyoung opening her eyes and sitting upright, her cheeks slightly wet from her tears. Jisoo’s eyes transformed to ones full of concern and quickly reduced the distance from her to ask her, “Chae, is everything okay?”. Chaeyoung’s head rotated to face her unnie, a huge smile creating an interesting contrast her tears. Jisoo was perplexed by Chaeyoung’s face. “Everything is okay, unnie. I’m just really touched by how good the food and the company were” Chaeyoung talked in a low voice purposely not wanting to wake up Jungkook who was sleeping on the floor next to them, her smile softening when her chocolate brown eyes laid view of the golden maknae. Jisoo noticed the change in her eyes. “He must be cold” Chaeyoung added, more to herself than to her conversation with her unnie. “What?” Jisoo retorted, confusion infused in her tonality. “Jungkook” Chaeyoung indicated with a small motion to the star mentioned before, the star who was now laying on the carpet with no blanket nor sweater to keep him warm in the late winter evening. She didn’t wait for her unnie’s response and took off her sweater and placed it on top of the K-pop star in deep sleep. Jisoo gazed sternly at Chaeyoung, the younger blackpink member saw and replied confidently, no hesitance in sight: “What?”, her shoulders shrugged and stared at her unnie with amusement. Jisoo, about to reply with judgement, stopped her scrutiny momentarily because her phone started to ring. Jisoo, before answering the call, said: “We’ll talk about this later” with that she took the phone and started talking. Chaeyoung was just amused by Jungkook’s sleepy face: he was visibly drooling, and his mouth was half-opened, a small giggle escaped hers. She thought of taking a picture, but she preferred no to do it, “I don’t want to invade his privacy” she considered. She felt movement next to her and saw her unnie getting up and Jisoo told her: “Our ride is here”. Chaeyoung followed her to exit the living room, her face e more time to see Jungkook peacefully sleeping and clutching her sweater for warmth. Another smile was drawn in her expression. This was a good night, indeed.
The blackpink members, Chaeyoung fully composed, reached the kitchen table. Jimin was uninterestedly scrolling through his phone whereas Yugyeom was drunk sleeping in between three more soju bottles. Jimin adverted their presence, lifting his head up he asked: “Your manager is here?” Jisoo and Chaeyoung shook their heads in unison. “Then… who is coming?” he continued intrigued, his suspicion of who that person might be increasing. “Jennie”
