It's Not a Dream

Who Do I Love?

Flowers.

Every single space of her chamber was covered with flowers of different varieties; Roses, Tulips, Peonies and what not. It wouldn’t be a lie if someone says it resembled a Florist shop. It was impossible to even step inside but the crowd outside prompted Ahyeong to just close the door, adjusting her feet wherever she can without stepping on the flowers she made her way towards her desk.

A part of her felt that it must be Baekhyun but a part of her dreaded that it might be someone she don’t want to think about at the moment. She looked around for some kind of trace that could give any hint about the sender. Finally her eyes landed on a pink envelope with peonies drawn all over it, placed in her chair, the only empty space spared from any flower bouquet.

Ahyeong reached for the envelope and stated inspecting it, there was a slight hesitation when she was about to open it. What if she was expecting too much from him and someone mistakenly put flowers in chamber.

Taking a deep breath she finally opened the envelope and took out the card. A smile bloomed on her lips while she was internally squealing, “Why is he so extra?” She mumbled shyly.

Dear Ahyeong nim,

“They say every flower has a special meaning behind them. Some stands for love, some for beauty and so on. I looked for the flower that meant you and ended up getting each of them because you meant much more than a single one but then I realized that you are most beautiful out of them. It’s not just a flower but a promise that I will do my best in taking care of you like a flower and let you spread your fragrance in my life.”

Yours,
Baekhyunie
J

Ahyeong plopped in her seat and reread the card for multiple times and every single time it fluttered her heart. She pinched her arm to confirm, it wasn’t a dream. Byun Baekhyun is real who is going to become her future husband. She can’t comprehend why she was so whipped for him, is it her dream that is feeding her such expectations or he is just too irresistible for her to think rationally.

It’s still new for Ahyeong that someone is trying to pursue her, court her and make her feel special. It’s not like she has doubts about his advances or he was bad to her in any way but this whole thing is overwhelming her. What if he turns out to be different from her dreams? What if she is still in her dreamy hangover?

Flashback:

The duo didn’t realized when their short walk elongated into a marathon walk but the deafening silence between them wasn’t as uncomfortable as Ahyeong predicted. In fact, it gave her time to clear her thoughts before preparing herself to ask all the things that were bugging her. As much as she is happy about this whole arrangement, the pessimist part of her was making her doubt everything. Taking a deep breath, she faced Baekhyun.

“When was the last time you were in a relationship?” She asked softly, internally scared of offending him with her bluntness.

The man in question rather than looking at her looked at the ground, shaking his head before gazing back at Ahyeong.

“I-I didn’t.” He answered in low voice before looking away and continued to walk but before Ahyeong can dig any further he proceeded.

“I never had the time to date anyone. During high school, I was consumed by studies and in college I was either studying or handling the business.” He looked up at the sky while a bitter smile plastered on his lips. “I barely had any time for myself and dating felt like the luxury I couldn’t afford.” This time he darted his eyes towards Ahyeong who was already empathizing with him. The life of rich kids wasn’t as easy as people perceived. It was all show but deep down they were living a difficult life without getting caught in any temptation.

“What about now? You can still get women, who will willingly throw themselves at you if you use one of your charms.” Ahyeong tried to laugh at the proposition but deep inside something akin to jealousy wrapped around her heart. The images of him going on dates with other women who were not her and being in close proximity with them was triggering her anger that she didn’t want to unleash yet.

“But you are the one I want to marry.” He replied with his sweet smile which attacked Ahyeong’s unguarded self with thousand of butterflies. “I know it sounds cliché and all but when I saw your picture for the first time, something in me screamed that you are the only one for me.” In between his sweet words the word ‘picture’ caught her attention.

“My picture?” Ahyeong asked uncertainly and Baekhyun opened his mouth in realization that he definitely slipped a detail he was never supposed to share.

“Oh, oh I-I saw your picture in the hospital’s yearly magazine, the one where you were the cover girl.” He spluttered while flapping his hands in embarrassment and his red face was tempting Ahyeong cup them in her hands.

“Oh, that one.” She nodded a part of her strangely wanting him to reveal that he saw her in his dreams. She looked back at Baekhyun, who was looking ahead unknowingly biting his lips and Ahyeong internally wished she could bite them that too. After the revelation it became too awkward for both of them to even initiate a proper conversation.

Ahyeong kept swirling in her chair. Thinking about thousand ways on how to text him? What to text him? The flowers that once occupied her chamber, is already on its way to her home. As much as she loved the idea of Baekhyun sending her tons of flowers, it was a hectic job displacing them from the hospital to her apartment. Thankfully Chunghee’s girlfriend and Hyoson assisted her in clearing and transporting it otherwise she might have spent the whole day to get them out without feeling guilty for messing with the arrangement but the constant teasing from her friends made her think otherwise.

Thanks for the lovely flowers. She typed but for some reasons it sounded weird for some reason. It was too short for a showing her gratefulness.

Deleting the sentence for the nth time she finally typed a not so improvised one and pressed on the send option.

Thank you for the lovely flowers.

Baekhyun’s reply came in less than a minute.

It’s a pleasure of mine. ;)

Are you free in the evening?

His second text left Ahyeong thoughts in a jumbled mess. Is he going to ask on another date?

I will be free after 5. Why did you ask?

She winced at her words; she really need some lesson to learn some texting skills. It was so plain and boring as if someone forced her to reply him.

Just wondering if you are up for another date?

Biting her lip to prevent a squeal from escaping, she replied.

If you say so then I am in.

You don’t sound that convincing.
He teased.

It’s not that, you must be busy.

I am willing to take you on more than thousand dates.

A part of Ahyeong doubted that he was not that inexperienced in dating as he claimed to be but the sincerity in his eyes spoke against her assumptions.

You are flattering me.

Am I? I was just stating the truth.
Anyways got to go before someone catch me laxing.
Bye.
See you in the evening.
Have a good day.

Bye and you too have a good day.

She couldn’t stop smiling throughout the whole day. There was a major shift in her mood and she couldn’t help but radiate her happiness to others.

**************

“Wow, you look like you are going to K.O. him tonight. I will pray for him to survive your killer looks.” Hyoson commented while she stood behind Ahyeong to look for anything that she missed. Ahyeong blushed at comment not before glaring at her friend who was suppressing her laughter.

Even though she wasn’t wearing any expensive dress like the last time but the forest green satin gown would put her last dress to shame in terms of beauty. Her hair was tied in a low bun while she had a light makeup on.

She wanted to retort at her friend that she didn’t look extremely beautiful like Hyoson claimed but stopped herself not to discredit her efforts on her. If not for her she wouldn’t even know what to wear tonight.

“If not for you, I might have looked like a pauper.” She chuckled before turning towards Hyoson.

“Do you want to meet him?” She shyly asked.

“I thought you would never ask.” Hyoson teased. “How is he like? Is he same as how he was in the dream or is he different?” She asked after a pause.

“He was quiet initially and it kind of made me feel that he didn’t like my presence at all but with time he warmed up. I still don’t know how much of him resembled the dream him but he still has those boyish charms from the dreams. You know what; he actually revealed that he saw my picture in last month magazine for the first time and thought that I was the one for him.” Ahyeong who has her head down all this while peaked through her lashes after getting no response from her friend who had open and on the verge of bursting into laughter. “I know it sounds unbelievable but the way his eyes twinkled at the revelation, I can’t help but believe him.”

Hyoson shook her head while grabbing Ahyeong’s hand. “It’s not that but he is- I don’t know he speaks as if he is quoting from some cliché romantic movie. Actually don’t mind whatever I say. Are you sure he is real and this is not some kind of prank? I am really curious about him now.”

“I have changed my mind. I am not introducing him to you.” Ahyeong poked her tongue out.

“You are seriously choosing your love spanning two only days over our friendship of 8 years.” Hyoson tried to sound offended.

“Yes.” Ahyeong teased again but gave up when she saw shock written on Hyoson’s face. She back hugged her friend while chuckling.

“I love you too.” She cooed

“I think he dreamed about you too.” Hyoson spoke after a brief silence. Ahyeong raised an eyebrow at her friend’s assumption. It wasn’t like she didn’t think about the possibility but she won’t know until the male tells himself. Even with Kyungsoo, she have felt that multiple times.

“Why do you think so?” Ahyeong asked.

“I and Chunghee kind of researched about him.” Hyoson spoke with hesitation deliberately avoiding eye contact with Ahyeong.

“And what you found?” This time Ahyeong voice sounded serious.

“He seems to be rational businessman and considered as a genius in the Business world. Even though there is not much information about his personal life but given his reputation he might have girls lining up for him. He is one of the most eligible bachelor out there so what are the chances that he would choose his potential life partner on the basis of just a picture whom he haven’t even met once? Rather than approaching you why he approached your parents when you work in his own hospital. I mean to say that he won’t go to that extent if he didn’t know about the dream. If he dreamt about you then he would probably want it to come true. You two were so in love those dreams and maybe he wants it to come true.” Hyoson answered.

“Even with Kyungsoo Oppa, I feel like he knows you. Do you remember the incident from the cafeteria?”

Flashback:

“I was craving for Bulgogi today you know but look what I am getting, nothing. At least you should have saved some for me.” Chunghee sulked.

“You know they are still serving it there but no, the great Chunghee won’t eat anything unless it was brought by his slaves.” Ahyeong retorted while Hyoson high-fived with her.

“Hyung save me from this two ungrateful friends who can’t even help a friend in need.” Chunghee suddenly shouted making the two girls look behind to find Kyungsoo making his way towards them. Even if was a doctor just like them but he looked like a model donning blue scrubs and his ruffled hair was adding iness to his looks. The food tray looked like a prop meant for more appeal.

“You are drooling.” Hyoson prompted making Ahyeong to look forward but it didn’t help much as Kyungsoo chose to sit opposite her.

“Good evening everyone.” He smiled at them before fixing his eyes on Ahyeong’s plate.

“Here, you like it, right.” He put a piece of Pollock pancake in her plate while the three of them looked at him in shock.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Kyungsoo questioned noticing the sudden silence as he took a bite of his own food.

“Hyung, how do you know that our Ahyeong likes Pollock pancake?” Chunghee interrogated making Kyungsoo choke on his food. Ahyeong offered him her glass of water as the man coughed vigorously.

“Half of the Korean population loves it so I assumed she liked it too.” He answered after calming down. He was right though that most of the Korean loves it but the three friends weren’t convinced especially after the way he reacted. It added more fuel to their doubt when he avoided any kind of eye contact with Ahyeong after that.

“I remember, it became so awkward that time but thankfully it didn’t last long.” Ahyeong mused.

“We won’t know until you confront them but it’s not going to be easy since you barely know about them.” Hyoson patted Ahyeong shoulder with both hands before making her sit on the bed.

“Why do I feel like I have ruined your perfect mood?” Hyoson asked as guilt laced her voice.

“No, you didn’t, actually it was bugging me for a while but I wasn’t sure about it.” Ahyeong replied.

“I-”, before Hyoson could say something Ahyeong’s phone buzzed.

“He’s here. Come I’ll introduce you two before I change my mind.” Ahyeong chuckled.

“Yes, your highness.” Hyoson bowed before following Ahyeong out.

If not for his radiating beauty, Ahyeong wouldn’t have recognized Baekhyun. Unlike the other times they met, today he was in less formal clothes, a printed white satin shirt paired with a crimson red trench coat and black pants. Maybe she was being shallow but his beauty has succeeded in blinding her and she can’t help but drool at the sight. How can be someone so handsome that it feels so unreal?

Feeling their presence he looked towards their direction. It took few seconds for his neutral face to turn into an awed one while his eyes shamelessly checked her out.

“I think you were right, he do look like a puppy, a y puppy, very much capable of seducing a nun.” Hyoson whispered beside her. “My eyes are hurting with his brightness. I accept him as your future husband.”

Ahyeong bit her lips to suppress her chuckle at her friend’s antics while quickening her steps towards the man, who was still in his daze.

“Hi.” He greeted.

“Hi. Were you waiting for long?” Ahyeong smiled sheepishly. Baekhyun shook his head in response before answering. “No, I just reached here.” He bit his lower lip. Ahyeong couldn’t help but look at his jelly lips that were nibbled between his teeth and with a lot of force she looked back at him only to find that he has caught her red handed. His smug smile wasn’t helping either.

Ahyeong looked towards her friend who was giving the third wheel vibes. “Uh this is my friend, Jeong Hyoson; we are best friends and colleagues.” Hyoson bowed her head shyly while Baekhyun smiled at her as they both exchange their greetings.

“It’s getting late I should leave now. You two enjoy your date. Good Night.” Babbling whatever came to Hyoson ran away making the couple laugh silently.

“You both are same in terms of shyness.” Baekhyun spoke while opening the passenger seat for her. Ahyeong suppressed the urge to glare at him. She didn’t want to turn him off with her rebellious side. She will just bear with his teasing till they reach the comfortable level in their relationship.

“You are not going to ask where I am taking you today.” Baekhyun asked cheerfully while starting his engine.

“Will you tell me if I asked?” The man only shook his head in response as chuckle left his mouth.

“But you can still guess.” He spoke after a brief pause. Ahyeong had the urge to pinch herself to confirm that the quiet Baekhyun from last time is talking nonstop and in the same way how he used to do in those dreams.

“What will I get if I answered correctly?” Ahyeong negotiated.

“Anything you want.” His reply came instantly.

“But what if I lose?” She came up with the other possibility.

“Then you lose.” This time he answered with a teasing smirk on his face.

“What if I abstain from guessing?” Ahyeong let out another possibility. This time he looked back at her briefly and she could read the shock in his face.

“Are you not even a single bit curious about it? What if I kidnap you?” He raised his left eyebrows while a smirk plastered on his face. Ahyeong gave him a look of disbelief before snorting.

“Baekhyun nim, where are we going?” Ahyeong asked cutely playing along.

“It’s a secret.” He cooed while scrunching his nose.

“At least give me a hint.” She gave him her puppy eyes.

“It’s a really cool place.” He replied after spending a minute or two in brainstorming for the hint.

“Arcade?”

“Ddaeng!”

“Karaoke?”

“Ddaeng!”

After taking a deep breath she answered. “Amusement park?” This time he paused for a moment. Ahyeong unknowingly held her breath hoping she has finally cracked the secret.

“Why are your answers so childish?” He teased. Ahyeong bit her tongue as anxiety rose inside her. Did she disappoint him? What if he finds her childish? What if he thinks she is dumb? Numerous possibilities of her being a disappointment to him swarmed her head.

“They are cool places though.” She answered timidly as her insecurities gripped her more and more with each passing second.

“Indeed they are cool places but there are other cool places such as-” he paused his explanation before narrowing his eyes at her. “Wow you are such a y brain who knows how to win a game. You deliberately answered them so you can make me slip the real answer.” He said amusedly with short glances thrown towards her.

Ahyeong looked away to hide her abashed look, trying to understand what just happened. Did he unknowingly read her mind and complimented her so that she won’t feel succumb to her insecurities? Was she too obvious or was he too good at reading people?

He chuckled drawing Ahyeong’s attention back to him.

“Want to try one more time?” He asked. He must be enjoying her walk of shame.

“I don’t know any more.” Because I have zero social life outside hospital, she reasoned inside her head.

“Okay, another hint, mostly adults go there.” He tried to persuade her to keep up with the guessing game. Ahyeong used her every single brain cell to come up with an appropriate answer.

“Pub. Bar. Club.” She spoke in one breath while Baekhyun beside sighed in defeat before turning off the ignition. He turned towards her smiling in disbelief while slipping off his seatbelt.

“I guess my hint was too vague to answer accurately. Too bad, we are already here which means you lost.” He said in amusement. Ahyeong blinked her eyes multiple times to process what he just said. Breaking the eye contact, she looked around her. They were in the basement.

Baekhyun reached for the seatbelt before unclasping it for her. He got out of the car while Ahyeong opened the door on her side before Baekhyun can reach her. He shook his head at her action before walking ahead with Ahyeong following him.

She had the urge to wrap her arms around her as the coldness started biting her skin, but she instantly dismissed it. It will be fine once they are inside. She observed the basement trying to figure out where they were exactly.

They walked for a while before entering what seemed like a tunnel. What if he was right about kidnapping her? She shook her head before looking at his broad back. She should trust him. He has been good to her all this while so it is impossible that he will hurt her.

Once they reached the end of the tunnel, all the air inside her lungs escaped. Baekhyun turned back as realization finally hit him when he looked at her clothes.

“I think I completely forgot about the dressing part.” He looked at her as guilt filled his eyes. Ahyeong wanted to cry at that moment. “I am sorry I should have been specific about that.” He bit his lip before looking at his wristwatch.

“It’s still early so we won’t have any trouble in finding a reservation.” He spoke all seriously before giving her a small smile.

“It’s fine. You must have put a lot of effort on this.” Ahyeong tried to smile as widely as she could to make him feel better; it’s his first time in dating world so she should at least cut him some slack.

Baekhyun opened his mouth to answer but Ahyeong giggled while looking around.

“I have never been to an ice rink before, it seems like fun and ‘cool’ place.” She started walking forward with Baekhyun on trail.

“I am sorry.” He apologized once again.

“Why are you apologizing? It’s not like you did it deliberately and it is my fault that I overdressed.” She tried to lessen his guilt.

“You are not overdressed for a date. It’s just that the place doesn’t fit well for a date.” He pouted. Ahyeong halted at his words before turning around to face him.

“We are already here so why don’t we enjoy it. Also, who knows when we will be able to come here again” She smiled at him who only nodded in response.

After the staff assisted them in wearing the shoes, they descended on the ice rink. She looked like she was some kind of cosplay for wearing a long dress in an ice rink.

“Miss, are you by any chance, Elsa?” Baekhyun smiled widely making Ahyeong abashed. She looked around to find the staff suppressing their laugh. She got away from him before he could say anything else but today luck was definitely not on her side. He started singing ‘let it go’ following behind her smoothly while she struggled to even walk on the rink. If not for the support from the railing, she might have already fallen.

“Ahyeong, let go of the rink and come to me.” Baekhyun spoke from behind. Hearing her name from his mouth froze her where she was standing. “Ahyeong?” He spoke once again snapping her out.

“Huh?” She looked behind.

“Hold my hand and come with me.” He spoke gently before extending both of his hands towards her.

“I am scared.” She expressed in her numb voice.

“Trust me I won’t let you fall.” He assured. It was enough for her to believe him so without further ado Ahyeong held his hands as he slowly brought her in middle of the rink to teach her.

“You are a fast learner.” Baekhyun complimented making Ahyeong duck her head shyly. It wasn’t as scary as she initially thought in fact she got a hang of it that she couldn’t stop herself from gliding around the rink.

True to his words he didn’t let her fall but she can’t help but keep falling for him. She internally started fangirling when he let out a boyish chuckle while skimming through the rink. He looked so precious that she suddenly started feeling protective over him. She promised herself that she will stand by his side no matter what and give him all the happiness he deserves. Byun Baekhyun deserves the world.

“Ahyeongie! Why are you just standing there? Move.” He demanded while his smile never leaving his lips. Curving her lips into a big smile she trailed towards him.

***********************************************************************

Warmth surrounded her petite body when they exited the ice rink making Ahyeong look up at Baekhyun who smiled back at her.

“You look cold.” He whispered while biting his lips. Is he doing that deliberately to seduce her? Who will tell him that he already had her wrapped in his pinky finger since she started dreaming about him and his little gestures were only adding fuel to it. No matter how much she wants to tell him about this dream but the shaman’s warning always stopped her from doing so. She was afraid that everything will vanish if she even said a word about it.

“Did you enjoy our second date?” He wiggled his eyebrows in anticipation.

“Very much.”

“I am afraid that we won’t be able to go on more dates that I promised you for the time being. Why are wedding preparations so hectic?” Baekhyun pouted while throwing his head back.

“I don’t know.” Ahyeong shrugged in response.

“I will find a way.” He winked making Ahyeong nod her head.

The preparation for the wedding was much more hectic than what Ahyeong expected. Her mother gave her a list of schedules and appointments that she was supposed to follow strictly and her job as a resident doctor was not helping either.

Even though she only has to participate in few activities which mostly involved trips to salon and boutiques, it was still a long list. Not only the wedding, she had an engagement party in one week to handle which was adding more stress to her already hectic life.

“What is your current weight?” her mother questioned while eliminating all the clothes she considered trash.

“45.” Ahyeong answered internally wincing at the way her mother showed no mercy to her closet.

“Lose two more kilos and keep dieting until your wedding day. I will hire a good workout instructor for you that will help you get more toned.” The older woman let out nonchalantly. Even though Ahyeong knew it was unhealthy she couldn’t go against her mother’s wish. The last time when she went through extreme diet, she almost suffered from anorexia and her menstrual cycle paused for couple of months if not for the Doctor’s warning her mother would have continued with her grooming session.

“Mr. Na, throw this trash away.” She called her former bodyguard who came running inside in no time to collect everything that lied on the floor. Ahyeong gave him a pleading look to not actually throw away, to which he nodded in understanding.

“The engagement will be private with only close family members.” Her mother narrowed her eyes at her before adding, “But that doesn’t mean you are going to drop that pretty mask of yours. No one should see the ugly you, specially the Byuns. Understood?” Ahyeong tried to swallow the bitter words her mother spewed before nodding her head.

“I will burn down this house of yours the first thing after your wedding. It just disgusts me, how can you even live in this kind of place. At least you should have bought a pretty house if not expensive.” She exited her room while wiping her hands roughly with the wet wipes.

“Anyways Mr. Na will assist you in everything from now onwards. I don’t want any excuses.” She spat before leaving the house.

Ahyeong breathed out heavily while looking around her house. She can’t fathom her mother’s hate for this house. It was true she could buy a better house if she used her parent’s money but she didn’t want to.

This place, even shallow in her mother’s opinion gave her comfort of home that she couldn’t have when she lived with them. This house never mocked her for being herself. She didn’t even have enough money to afford an expensive house and asking her parents for money was something she won’t do, when they still taunt her about how they spent money on her and gave her a comfortable life. She still feels indebted to them even though she was paying them as their puppet who would willingly sacrifice herself for their greed. She just wanted this feeling to go away so that she could get her self-respect back without the burden of living off their hard earned money.

She plopped on the floor as suppressed the overwhelming emotions for losing her house once she gets married. She knows her mother well enough that she won’t hesitate to turn her words into action.

Her short mental talk was interrupted by a beep from her phone. It was a picture of her and Baekhyun from their second date that was probably taken by the staff. It was when Baekhyun was holding her hand and explaining about how to glide through the ice. The caption attached to it made her burst in laughter, ‘Real life Elsa is in my arms’.

Even though, currently he was not physically with her at the moment, he still managed to shoo away the bad feelings that was gripping her conscience. She felt lucky to have finally found someone who really cared about her without any malice.

“You are currently the talk of hospital for getting a room full of flowers from your secret admirer. If I didn’t know any better I might have suspected Cha Minhyeok for going all out for you.” Chunghee uttered leaving a bitter taste in Ahyeong’s mouth. She really didn’t want to think about the part where his brother took advantage of her.

“Cha Minhyeok, the actor?” Kyungsoo asked curiously who just joined them. Chunghee nodded his head vigorously.

“He is one of Ahyeong’s admirers, too bad our Ahyeong is already booked.” Chunghee supplied while Ahyeong and Hyoson glared at the male for giving away too much information while Kyungsoo gave them a look of surprise.

“You have a boyfriend?” Kyungsoo asked Ahyeong as his brows furrowed in confusion.

“She is going to have a husband instead, direct promotion.” Chunghee answered in her place and before Ahyeong can ask him to shut up he added. “She is getting married next month by the way.”

Kyungsoo looked at Chunghee in disbelief who was gobbling down his food as if he didn’t ate for days before directing his gaze towards Ahyeong who just wanted to disappear.

“Is it true?” He asked calmly. Before Chunghee can answer instead of her, Hyoson stuffed his mouth with tissue paper and smacked him on the head to shut him down.

“It’s true.” She answered timidly already preparing herself to hear a yell or something as if he was going to scold her for hiding such information.

“Are you marrying against your wishes?” He asked in concern. What?

“No!” Ahyeong yelled before ducking down her head as now everyone in the cafeteria got her attention, “No, I am marrying him willingly.” She spoke in low voice.

“Then why are you answering like you are embarrassed of getting married.” He asked with serious tone. Ahyeong’s eye widened at his words as she shook her head in denial.

“It’s not that. It is supposed to be confidential before the official announcement. Only few people know about it including these two. Even my close relatives don’t know about it yet.” She explained but the look of hurt in his face was something she didn’t expect.

“Do you not consider me as a friend to share this news with me? I thought we were close.” He pouted.

“It’s not that oppa, it was confirmed just few days ago and we barely met recently otherwise I would have told you already.” Kyungsoo nodded in understanding.

“Who is the-?”

“Dr. Do, there is an emergency.” Before he could complete his sentence a nurse rushed towards their table. Without much delay he stood up silently excusing himself.

“Yah, don’t you know when to shut up?” Hyoson whisper yelled at Chunghee after Kyungsoo left.

“I was-.”

“Oh please! Do you really want Ahyeongie parents to chase you down for spilling such confidential information?” Hyoson narrowed her eyes at him.

“Please stop fighting.” Ahyeong said in her tired voice before glaring at Chunghee, “Next time if you speak so recklessly I swear I will disclose all your dark secrets to your girlfriend and never ever take that playboy’s name in front of me if you don’t want to face my wrath.” She threatened making the boy nod his head in fear.

With each passing day, her interaction with Baekhyun has slowed down. He already informed her about his increasing workload and she slightly felt worried for his health. If not for their rushed marriage, he wouldn’t have to work twice the amount of what he was supposed to. His involvement in the wedding preparations was not helping him either.

She completely understand his dilemma, whenever he complained about how much he wanted to meet her but his work has occupied so much of his time that he barely slept. He still managed to text her whenever he can and asked her to eat lot of delicious food, too bad she was dieting.

She looked at her schedule for the next day that was circled in red. One week has passed without notice and tomorrow they are going to be officially engaged. Their courtship only lasted a week or was it even a courtship to begin with. She agreed for this marriage in a blink without worrying about the consequences, because it was him.

But a part of thoughts drifted towards Kyungsoo, the very part that made her think that maybe Kyungsoo liked her more than a friend or maybe she was being delusional. It’s not she hasn’t noticed the way he looks at her sometimes, the recognition and the fondness or maybe she was misreading everything because there was a chance that her dreams has affected her sense of judgement.

What if she let her dreams control her and she mess up a big time? What is going to happen if she actually let her dream to become her reality? What if she actually cheats on Baekhyun like she did in her dreams?

Cookie Clip:

Dear diary,

It has been a long time. Lot of things happened recently but this particular person had me fall for him head over heels. Is it even possible to love someone in such a short amount of time or maybe I am just too happy to have misunderstood it as love.

Baekhyun, even his name is enough to give me butterflies. Tomorrow actually Tonight, I am going to get engaged to him and in three weeks we will be married. It seems so unreal that it scares me that I will wake up from this dream. I wanted to talk to Jangmi eonnie about it but she is currently in the countryside and I can’t even contact her. I just want to give me assurance that it is going to be fine.

He has been so good to me so I am going to knit a scarf for him as a token of my love. I made Yuja extract for him which I personally picked and brought from Jeju do. It’s a surprise for him though, I hope he like it.

I am just so happy that I will die.

A Sneak Peak:

It’s been two week since my last update and lot of things actually happened, from Chanyeol enlistment to Baekhyun’s enlistment notice. EXO spoiler and then disappearing again, leaving us hanging but here I am with another update.

This chapter I don’t know what to say actually. Excuse me for the errors because to err is a human and please enjoy this chapter. Actually I forgot to add Kyungsoo cafeteria incident in the last chapter so that’s the reason I am using it as a flashback here. Well his every scene is an incident, traits of good actor I guess. I think I am not adding much of their interaction and it seems Ahyeong is getting more footage so please if you have any opinion regarding that please let me know in the comment section. I won’t say anymore because I might spoil the story.

Chapter 16: I love the details you wrote. The agony and build up pain, torment our dear Ahyeong faces on a day to day basics. If we were to think about it, there a reason why Ahyeong acted in such a way. Her not standing up for herself, not telling her close ones the issue she facing, her fake optimism, her trauma from the abusing relationship she experienced. She simply cant say it out because at the end of the day people around her (especially the one that inflict pain on her) would somehow win against her. At the end she accept the pain willingly despite her withering slowly.

Whatever driven Baekhyun to be this cruel to Ahyeong deserve a great explanation. The amount of time my heart bleed for ahyeong due to Baekhyun indirect torment. But the part that seriously pissed me off would be how he handed Ahyeong back to her parents knowing well what she will suffer later on. The main abuser aka her parents that caused Ahyeong all her trauma and suffering. And he even “ruin” her career by letting her served suspension notice. Her career is probably the only good thing in ahyeong life. And i know he indirectly care for her. But in a sense his nightmare with Ahyeong killing herself would come true in another version in the reality world if continue.

Ahyeong do admire and maybe love baekhyun as he is her husband. But as this goes on, the fine line of hatred and love is getting thinner. Maybe we would get a better version of ahyeong when she stop loving others (e.g Baekhyun) and start caring for her own well-being first! And whoever the mysterious person that paid for sauna deserve to appear in her life.

Thank you for updating!
