“Taeyong? What are you doing here?”
“Lady Haerin—” Taeyong gasped as he struggled to catch his breath. “The Lee clan is under attack by the Songs, Prince Sehun!”
Letting out a gasp as she tried to process the shocking news from the guard, Haerin was rooted in shock but Sehun had already jumped into action.
Saddling their horses, his face was stoic as he questioned the guard. “And any news on Haerin’s family?”
The guard only shook his head nervously.
“Come on Rin, we have to go,” Sehun gestured towards their horses as he tried to portray a comforting presence.
Haerin’s body was in autopilot now. Moving slowly, she was about to swing up her horse when the guard cleared his throat nervously.
“My Lord, Prince Junmyeon has instructed that you should head back to the capital immediately.” Trying to ignore the death glare emanating from Sehun’s face, he continued. “Word has it that if the Songs are successful, they will target the capital next.”
