"Naeun," A husky voice calls out to me as I am busy clasping a bracelet around my wrist. I look up to see Baekhyun across the hall and in the bathroom, both hands in his hair, overly running themselves through the brown locks that are clearly half done and half confused "Can you help me fix my hair?" A sheepish smile on his face and I get up to walk over to him 

When I am standing in front of him, he can only bend down enough so that I am able to reach his hair comfortably. I begin to maneuver the wet gel to make his hair look presentable and in the meantime, he has both hands on the crevices of my waist staring a intently at my face. As if holding something precious in his hands, he can only stare at me with sparkling eyes that cause me to clear my throat.

"You smell good" He says, lightly gripping onto me, my skirt slightly lifting and I click my tongue at him. He disregards my fingers in his hair and decides to nuzzle his nose into my neck, taking a deeper breath. A hot sigh on my neck leaves a shudder running down my body. Obviously, this was not the time to engage in anything more than mentally and physically preparing to meet his family but of course, Baekhyun being Baekhyun didn't really care as he pulled it up enough so that one of my cheeks was exposed. 

"Baekhyun not now" I whine as his hand is already fondling the bare cheek but yet again, here I was not really minding his touch since it did put me at ease a tad bit. 

When he broke the news to me, who was half asleep, I began panicking right away and it was a very long conversation between us two until I was able to calm down and get my head straight. I had almost? Nothing to fear. 

Afterall, me being their son's mate was something out of anyone's control wasn't it? 

"Are you guys- oh my god!" No one other than Jieun squeaks as she sees how inappropriately Baekhyun is touching me. Since I had my back towards the opening of the door, she can see my whole cheek and black undies free to view. Right away she covers her eyes and goes red while Baekhyun smiles sheepishly to tug down my skirt

"Sorry Jieun, Baekhyun is being a prick" He smacks his lips at my name calling but I just smirk evilly 

"What did you need?" I ask her, finishing his hair and turning to wash my hands. She peeps through her fingers and when she sees that I am covered up, she brings her hands down. With a rose color plastered on her pale white skin, she clears and asks if we are ready out of what I can assume is curiosity. 

I tell her yes, going back to my room and picking up from what I was doing before I was interrupted. She follows me, taking a seat on the foot of the bed before praising me "You're so pretty unnie! They're going to love you!" Hooking a pair of simple earrings on my ear lobes, I take a second to ruffle my curled locks and stare at the mirror. 

"Can I just say I'm deathly sick and can't make it?" My words were loud enough for Baekhyun to hear and Jieun laughed, not knowing how to react since the person who she looked up to the most was literally questioning her own existence. 

"We'll be fine baby" Through my mirror reflection, I see Baekhyun turn off the bathroom light and make his way towards me. He is wearing a white button up shirt with the first few open and allowing me to appreciate his smooth chest. His black dress pants are hugging him so nice that I can't help but think of bad thoughts that are not appropriate for this situation. 

Eventually standing behind me, Baekhyun rests a hand on my shoulder and gives me a reassuring squeeze. I stare into his orbs through the reflection before leaning back on him and letting all of my nerves slightly release. 

"Regardless if the dinner goes bad or good, I will give you a prize when we get back" His words already laced with pure lust, completely forgetting that Jieun was in the room with us and she takes it as her cue to get out of here while she can. 

I pout, tilting my head up all the way so that I am directly looking up at him and he is looking down at me. 

"So pretty" With his free hand he cups my exposed neck and rubs the skin with his thumb 

"I feel like I might vomit Baekhyun" Ruining the mood, my orbs are shaking and he shushes me by bending down and placing a kiss on my forehead 

"It'll be okay sweetheart. I know I made my parents sound pretty unpleasant but they really have no choice to accept you and besides, you're the perfect person. They will like you." His words drip with sincerity and I gulp knowing that it is no longer just something we were talking about, or arguing about, but it's now real and by the time we are both sitting in the car ready to leave, I can't breathe.

Baekhyun holds my hand with his other on the steering wheel and I am quiet, looking out the window as we take off. 

About twenty minutes later, despite being focused on driving, Baekhyun sensed that this was the most vulnerable he's ever seen me knowing that my usual style of coldness and intimidation to have others submit to me could not be used on his parents.

Instead, he tries to comfort me by speaking nothing but sweet phrases to lighten the mood 

"You don't have to worry about anything Naeun," I grip his hand a little tighter, now biting a portion of my lips "I already told my mother about how we met and became mates so that it would be less awkward to explain it there... and I also took a lot of time to think about what you said..." Baekhyun trails off, sniffing out of habit as he has to admit "About me being a coward... You were right." I turn to look at him and he also glances at me with seriousness 

"I'm sorry for not understanding you and not only being a proper mate but not being a proper boyfriend so I swear on my life that I am always going to be two hundred percent on your side no matter what... Song Naeun, you're the best thing that has ever happened to me." Lifting up our intertwined hands, he leaves a lingering peck on the back of my hand and I feel flowers blooming in my chest in a matter of short seconds

"I love you Baekhyun"

The words leaving my lips faster than my head can process them and Baekhyun almost slams on the breaks to turn his head to triple check if I really confessed my feelings to him. Not through my usual inconspicuous phrases or words that he would have to figure out but true and raw meaning. 

I keep my eyes on him but he has no reaction until he rips his hand out of mine and I am about to be hurt by his actions until he grabs the back of my head and pulls me over to meet him halfway so that we can share a loving peck

After letting me go and grabbing my hand once again, he curses while turning his eyes back to the road 

", I love you so damn much too baby"

Baekhyun presses harder onto the gas pedal, matching the pace of my heartbeat

Reaching Baekhyun's parents house that is about forty-five minutes away from our own home, I am nervous but suppress these emotions knowing that there is no real reason as to why they should not like me, as a person at least. 

He pulls into the driveway with furrowed eyebrows and mumbles "What the hell is my brother doing here" His reaction is truthful and I gulp because I wasn't mentally prepared to meet his entire family in one sitting but hey, at least I was essentially killing five birds with one stone... Somehow 

Getting out of the car and locking it, Baekhyun walks over to the passenger side to place a hand on my lower back, showing me the way to his childhood home. 

I take notice that the building is a very simplistic large light gray split level home with a generous amount of space between the neighbors that looked perfect to raise two sons who needed plenty of space to run around. Standing in front of the door, I gulp down every ounce of pride I have as Baekhyun prepares to knock but before he can, a middle aged woman opens it with all too familiar crescent eyes

She has a lovely grin on her face as she lands her gaze upon the two of us 

"Hi honey" She opens her arms to greet Baekhyun and he leans over to embrace her before they both pull back and she looks at me with excitement "And you must be the mate" I stick out my hand that I made sure to wipe any sweat from but she doesn't take it. Instead, she pulls me into a gentle hug and I can only awkwardly accept it, giving her a feel pats on the back to show my gratitude 

Once she lets me go, she gasps and takes a step back "Come in, come in! Baekbeom and Jihyo just got here with Jihoon" She tells us and I follow Baekhyun's every lead by taking off my shoes at the entrance. When his mom is walking in front of us, I pinch Baekhyun's forearm making him wince and give me a 'what did I do' look but I angrily mouth to him 'you . you said she was scary!' 

He gives me puppy eyes but before I can silently yell at him more, she turns around with a wide grin and I notice that we are standing in the living room. The couches are similar to the exterior gray and are decorated with photos. 

My eyes instinctively travel and land on a large canvas photo propped up on the adjacent wall that looks like Baekhyun and his mom follows my gaze before giggling "Cute wasn't he? I think he was around six at the time" I nod politely and he groans, forgetting that baby photos were apart of the 'meeting your significant other' process

"Make yourself comfortable Naeun," His mom flashes those crescent eyes at me again before looking over at Baekhyun. "Your brother and dad are in the back. I'm going to set the table" I offer to help her but she shakes her head and rejects me quickly claiming that I should enjoy myself tonight and not feel pressured. 

What the hell. Did Baekhyun have a second mom who he was making out to be a villainess because the one I met is nothing but peaches and cream.

The moment she walks away, I roughly poke his side and he lunges away from me. Without needing to say a word, I roll my eyes and we walk over to the sliding doors leading to the backyard. 

Baekhyun is the first to step out as I follow behind him, fully expecting the true hell to begin but when his brother and dad sees us, they are all smiles and warmth.

My magic can practically feel their presence as auras do not lie in the realm of power. 

"Hi dad" Baekhyun greets by walking a short distance and hugging his father before moving onto his older brother. I stand there waiting for him to introduce me and when he does, his dad reaches out a hand for me to shake which I do with a small smile. His brother does the same and I am quite confused at this point. 

"Wow Baekie, you're lucky wolves have a set mate otherwise I'm sure you would never be able to date someone as pretty as Naeun" His older brother, Baekbeom bluntly says with a chuckle and I blush. His brother is slightly taller than my mate and although h
