Christmas in Seoul means that there is one thing you have to see. Every year a small magical Christmas village appears in the middle of modern skyscrapers. Every year is also a tree lighting ceremony, everyone in Seoul who likes Christmas needs to attend. Yesung probably isn’t the biggest fan of Christmas, but he thinks that the tree is beautiful. It is huge and tall blue spruce which looks majestic with red and silver baubles, fake icicles and lights. On the top of the tall tree is sitting a big, silver star which shines and lures everyone closer.

The tree lighting ceremony wasn’t long and not many people came because it is really cold and snowing again. Siwon holds Yesung’s small hand in his and smiles because his husband has such tiny hands and the white mittens he is wearing today make him ten times more adorable which is on the limit of cuteness Siwon can survive. They look at the Christmas while carols sound from many big speakers. Siwon wants to try some delicious food from the kiosks which are around so he gently drags Yesung away from the tree. He swears that Yesung must have some cat genes because he loves shining things. 

Siwon needs to try the Hungarian poppy seed cake and Yesung’s attention is caught by almond-cherry rice pudding from Denmark (really delicious, try it at home!). Yesung doesn’t like the loud carols, but he likes the decorations and cute gingerbread cookies. He finished the rice pudding and then Siwon gasped overdramatically.

“Look!”

Siwon pointed at something and Yesung groaned. There is Santa Claus sitting on a throne with two elves and fake reindeers. Not many kids are around, it’s brass monkey weather, so kids are hidden in their warm homes.

“Come on! Please, just one picture!”

Yesung whines a bit, but obediently follows his husband who is dragging him toward the Santa. The man in the costume doesn’t protest when Siwon sat his husband in his lap. Yesung hides his face in his small hands and giggles. This is so silly! However, Siwon is laughing and takes a picture of his cute husband. Even the Santa gives him a candy cane and then they take one more picture in front of the Christmas tree before going home.
