Siwon’s mother loves him more than anything. She also has a daughter, but Krystal has never started acting like an adult. Krystal is so different than her older brother, as if they aren’t sibling at all. Siwon studied, Krystal just kept changing universities. Siwon got married, Krystal just dates with dozens of guys. Siwon bought a house, Krystal still lives with her parents because she can’t keep a job, therefore can’t afford an apartment. 

Siwon doesn’t visit his family very often, he lives in Seoul and they live in Daejeon. The truth is that Siwon doesn’t want to visit them often, but Christmas visit is necessary so here they are, on their way to Daejeon. Yesung is amazed that his husband’s parents are always so happy to see him. There is so much food prepared for Siwon and his mom is almost forcing him to eat while asking him thousands of questions. During these visits, Yesung usually just sits on the couch in the living room and sips on the tea while his husband chats with his family. No one usually asks him anything so he just sits there and thinks about his family. Are they somewhere out there?

Yesung has never seen his parents, they left him in an orphanage just a few hours after he was born.

The orphanage was terrible. Every kid who cried or wanted a bit of love was punished by being locked in a dark basement. Yesung ended there many times and even now carries scars from his past - he is scared of the dark. Christmas always forces him to think about them and he is depressed even more when he watches the happy faces around him. 

Siwon is trying to make the visit shorter because he simply doesn’t want to be there. His father isn’t trying to hide his hate toward his wife, his mother keeps nagging Krystal for not being like him and his sister hates him for being perfect. Three hours later they finally left the house and his mother gives them many boxes with food. Siwon waves them for the last time before starting the engine of their car and then drives off. He needs to go slowly because it is snowing again. Yesung is silently watching the trees around the highway and thanks to his silence the journey home feels endless.

Yesung speaks again four hours later when they are lying in their bed.

“Do you think they miss me?”

Yesung is using Siwon’s arm as a pillow and enjoys the warmth coming from his husband’s body. He starts drawing circles on Siwon’s chest with his small forefinger and Siwon doesn’t want to ruin this moment, but he also wants to be honest, even if it hurts.

“I don’t know, but it doesn’t matter. They didn’t want you and now I am here, I will never leave you.”

Siwon stares into Yesung’s teary eyes and his hair.

“I will never leave you.”
