Chapter Two
The Curse of the CupidFour Years Later
Years have passed and Yoona and Irene's friendship has only gotten stronger and they ended up as extremely close friends. They also became neighbors and even studied in the same school. Now an eight year old Yoona skipped happily to Irene's house and knocked on the door. The door opened and Yoona looked up at Irene's mother with a cute smile that could charm anybody.
Well she was known for being an extremely charming girl. "Good morning Mrs. Bae!" she greeted happily as she bowed politely. "I'm ready for school! Where is Irene?" she asked as she tried to peek inside the house, she was so excited for her friend to come out of the house. "Good morning Yoona, Irene will be out soon. Just wait a couple of minutes," Irene's mother spoke as she glanced at her watch and Yoona nodded with a smile.
"But you can come inside and wait for her here," she said. "Yes Mrs. Bae," Yoona replied as she went inside the house and headed straight to the couch to wait for Irene. After a couple of minutes passed, Irene finally showed up in her uniform with a backpack on. "Hi Yoong! Irene said as she smiled happily. "Hi Rene!" Yoona said and returned Irene's smile as she stood up and hugged Irene.
"Are you ready?" she asked Irene who nodded. "Yes, I'm ready," she replied as she took her lunchbox from the table. Then Irene glanced at her mother who was behind her and smiled at her. "Bye mommy, we'll be going now!" she said as she waved while her mother chuckled. "Okay then, take care," Irene's mother said as she waved at the two girls. "Bye mommy," Irene replied as she giggled and kissed her mother's cheeks, making her laugh.
"Bye Mrs. Bae!" Yoona said as she waved at Irene's mother before giggling. "Bye girls, take care okay?" Irene's mother said before letting them leave the house. "Yes mommy, bye!" she said happily as she and Yoona walked out of the house and headed to their school that is a couple of blocks away. After they arrived at their school, they entered the hallway while talking about their favorite books.
Both of their lockers were right next to each other, so that's why they always walked together. While they were chatting and getting the stuff they need for their class, a group of girls suddenly approached them. "Oh look, if it isn't Im Yoona and her ugly best friend Irene Bae," a girl greeted in a mocking tone with a smirk on her face. Unfortunately, this girl happened to be the most popular girl in school known as Jessica Jung.
Then her two friends behind her laughed with a malicious tone while Irene glared at them angrily. "Hey, can you girls stop being mean to us?" Irene bravely asked and the group stopped laughing and looked at her with a grimace. Jessica was about to slap her, but a hand caught hers before it could hit her cheek. Yoona calmly stared at her, while Irene had a frustrated look on her face. "Don't mind them Irene," Yoona said as Irene sighed and glared at the girls once again.
"Okay, then I'll just...," Jessica said and purposely stopped her sentence as she suddenly pushed Irene with a strong force that was enough to make her body hit the lockers behind them. "Push you," Jessica whispered as she laughed and crossed her arms while seeing Irene wobble like a little kid on an ice rink. Irene was about to fall, but luckily Yoona caught her in time.
The two of them stared at each other's eyes, but Yoona immediately broke eye contact by glaring at the group of girls with a small pout on her face. "Jessica, please stop pushing her, she might get hurt," Yoona said to Jessica in a soft tone, but she just rolled her eyes and dramati
