Eunjae stares blankly on the shining diamond ring in her finger. Evrything has been happening in a flash of lightning, her father threw her away, and now she ended up marrying the guy she hated the most. A sudden knock could be heard from the window, making her roll her eyes in annoyance before she presses open the window down, humming without even turning to look at Sehun whom she knows is smiling as he peeks from outside of the car,

“Do you want anything? There’s snack, drinks and—“

“I want chocolates.”

Eunjae said with a frown on her face, turning to look at Sehun who’s still smiling as he nods, before he rushes back inside the petrol station’s convenient store. Eunjae watches her husband from afar, admitting that Sehun is indeed good looking and he has been very nice and considerate towards her in the 2 days they’ve been spending their times together before they registered their marriage earlier that morning.

“Miss.”

Eunjae turns to look at Mr. Oh who’s sitting at the backseat of the car,

“You should just call me Eunjae, uncle. I’m your daughter-in-law now.”

“Then you should call me dad too.”

Eunjae chuckles, nodding her head lazily,

“Yes, dad. Why?”

“I know you’re keeping everything to yourself and I know you might be uncomfortable with me and Sehun but I want you to know that I sincerely take you as my daughter, not just daughter-in-law, Eunjae. Even if the world turns their backs on you, I won’t and I will never do the same. I know you’re a good person, deep down there, your heart is a very pretty one. As pretty as your face.”

Eunjae’s eyes teary upon hearing Mr. Oh’s words, making her heart soften with the genuine kindness and care that her father-in-law is showing her. Turning to look at the older guy, Eunjae smiles brightly, for the first time, without her usual smirk,

“Thank you, dad.”

Mr. Oh chuckles as he nods, watching the girl wiping her tears as she leans her head on the headrest and that’s when Sehun came back with a huge plastic bag in his hand, gently shoving it to his wife. His smiles turn into frowns as he notices her face’s redden and there’s a few tears stain around her rosy cheeks,

“Why were you crying?”

Sehun gently asked, his hands move to cup Eunjae’s face but the girl clicks her tongue and pushes his hands away,  

“I didn’t cry. Just drive.”

Sehun sighs, smiling towards his wife as his hand moves to caress her hair before he puts on his seatbelt and starts driving out of the petrol station. Eunjae takes out the small box of Ferrero Rocher from the plastic bag and turns to look at her father-in-law,

“Dad, have some.”

Eunjae holds out the huge plastic bag towards Mr. Oh who smiles, taking out a Cadbury bar as he thanked his daughter-in-law. Sehun couldn’t help but smile as he watches his wife starts to open up to his father and he knows she’ll slowly opens up to him too and he won’t stop trying to win her.

“Only dad? How about me, your husband?”

Sehun playfully said, raising one of his eyebrows as he glances over his wife who’s clicking her tongue again with a cute pout on her face, putting down the Ferrero Rocher she’s about to eat,

“Here.”

Eunjae shoves the plastic bag towards Sehun,

“I’m driving, darling. You choose for me.”

Eunjae’s cheeks redden hearing Sehun’s sudden endearment and she could hear her father-in-law chuckling from the back seat of the car, making her feels ten times embarrassed. Taking out the mixed flavoured Mentos, Eunjae tears the packaging off and shoves it towards Sehun who then muttered a thank you towards her as he starts eating the candies with a huge smile on his face.

Eunjae couldn’t believe that Sheun’s family house is almost as huge as her father’s house that her eyes almost go wide seeing the simple yet pretty bungalow, with a huge porch and compound.

“We’re here. Let’s get inside.”

Eunjae ignores Sehun’s words as she steps out of the car, stretching herself for a while as the drive from Seoul to Busan took up almost 4 hours. Crossing her arms around her chest, Eunjae waits for her husband and father-in-law to take out their stuffs from his car trunk.

“Let’s go.”

Sehun gently said, trying to take Eunjae’s hand in his but the girl refuses to as she frowns, looking up at Sehun who then nods and smiles, leading her inside his house with Mr. Oh following right behind them. Eunjae just her lips once she steps inside the huge house, her eyes wandering around while she nods in satisfaction, until an annoying voice makes her turns,

“You two! You said you’ll be in Seoul for just a day but—“

Mrs. Oh stops talking once she saw Eunjae who’s forcing a smile on her face. She frowns as she looks at the pretty girl in front of her and once she recalls who she is, she immediately looks at her with the most disgusting look she’s ever showed to a person. Sehun clears his throat,

“Mom, this is Eunjae.”

“I know. Who doesn’t know her. The girl who hated our Danbi for no reason.”

Eunjae scoffs as she looks at the older woman, her hands clenched into fist once she heard Danbi’s name coming out of her own mother-in-law’s mouth.

“Mom.”

Sehun gently said, knowing that if he didn’t stop his mother, things could get worse and he knows better not to trigger his wife.

“Eunjae is my wife now. We’re married.”

Mrs. Oh’s eyes widen as she marches forward towards Sehun,

“What? Since when? And why? You should’ve talked to me first! You should’ve at least asked for my permission first, Oh Sehun!”

Eunjae rolls her eyes, knowing that Sehun’s mother hates her and she couldn’t care less that she remains standing right beside Sehun, eyes staring straight on Mrs. Oh’s face,

“Why should Sehun asks for your permission? It’s his life! His future! He does what he wants with his life and we as parents should support him, support whatever path he chooses in his life!”
