Yong woke up a little earlier than she anticipated. Maybe it was the nerves because she was going to meet with Wheein and Byul today at Eclipse Studios for a meeting about her online marketing promotions. 

When she emailed to inquire after the cafe opening that Friday evening, she didn’t expect a reply for another week. If she was being honest, she wasn’t expecting a reply at all, given the circumstance. So it came as a shock when she received an email from Wheein on Sunday asking if she could come in on Monday for a meeting to talk about what she’d like to achieve.

She gathered some of the notes she made and packed up the blueberry cupcakes she stayed up baking to perfection last night. 

These were Byul’s favourites. 

She was hoping that giving these would somehow lighten the mood as they used to always cheer her up whenever she was sad or stressed out. 

She also packs up some extras for Wheein as she was also a big fan of sweet treats.

Yong looks down at the beautifully packaged cupcakes and smiles as she remembered the times when Byul would no stop pestering her until she made these exact cupcakes.

“Ddunniii…Yongggggg” Byul snuggles up to her girlfriend on the couch who was busy studying on her laptop

“Byul-ahhh i’m studying, what do you want?” Yong asked without breaking eye contact with the powerpoint slide she was reading

“I don’t want to study anymore! This is too much, i give up! i should just drop out and become a stripper” Byul whined and sighs dramatically as she buries her face in Yong’s neck

“Okay, drop out and be stripper then, as long as i still get private shows” the girl teased as she pats Byul in the head

“YAH! of course i won’t do that, are you crazy?! aish…” Byul retreated from Yong, she watched as the girl was still focused on her laptop and won’t give her the attention she wants right now

I see how it is…she thought to herself before smirking and without warning, she launches herself at her girlfriend and starts tickling her

“ya-YAH! MOON BYUL YI GET OFF ME RIGHT NOW!!!” Yong manages to scream out in between the attacks of her girlfriend

“Not until you give me attention!!!” Byul retorted back as she intensifies her actions

“oka—OKAY! i give up”

Byul retreats with a huge smile plastered on her face while she looked at her girlfriend, who was out of breath

Yong glared in response “wipe that stupid smile off your face before i punch you” 

“Could you kiss it instead?” 

Yong sighs and as she rolls her eyes “No, you don’t deserve a kiss right now. what do you want?”

“Blueberry cupcakes, please?”

“Seriously?”

“Yes, seriously”

“Like right now?!” Yong responded in disbelief as it was currently past midnight.

“Nah, maybe in five years” Byul replied sarcastically “Yes right now!” 

“Byul-ah its two in the morning…”

“Kim Yongsun, i didn’t ask for the time” Byul counters with a smirk

“Aigooo this girl! FINE!” Yong responded defeatedly as she stands up and makes her way to the kitchen

“I love youuuuuuu” Byul said in a sing-song voice, making Yong smile as she shook her head while preparing her needed ingredients

It wasn’t until she felt her tears running down her cheeks when she realised she had started crying remembering the happy memory with Byul. 

She has come to terms, time and time again, just how much she messed up by giving up on their relationship and God knows how much she has regretted her decision of saying no to Byul’s proposal. 

During all those times she felt alone, she would often fantasize how different her life would have been if she said yes.

Would she be happier?

Would she have felt fulfilled?

If ever she chose to choose love over her career.

And as much as she tried to move on, not one person that she has ever met even came close to what she felt with Byul. 

Maybe the problem lies in her, as she looks for Byul in every person she meets.

After quickly stopping by her cafe Yong was now currently walking towards a modern building. She stops to admire the simplicity of the style, from the concrete walls to the tall glass windows. She read the chrome stainless steel letters the went across the top of the entrance.

She smiles as she takes a second to appreciate what Byul has achieved in the past years. 

She was really proud of her. 

Yong couldn’t help but wished she was there to cheer her on every step of the way. 

She takes a deep breath and walks inside through the automatic sliding doors, she was met by the receptionist who led her into a meeting room.

She was starting to get nervous again as she sat down in the empty room. The Moon Byulyi she knew was a completely different person to the woman she’s about to meet. 

It’s a crazy feeling when someone you once knew inside and out, now feels like a complete stranger.  

Never did Yong think she would be here sitting down daydreaming scenarios in her head of different ways to greet Byul the moment she walks in the room.

What if the way i stood or the way i greeted her would set her off?

What if i suddenly say something wrong or say something that would piss her off?

What if i accidentally blurted out how much i miss her and how i still love her?
