The Silent Coffee PrinceIt was Saturday. Donghae drummed his fingers lightly on the counter as the day ticked by. The afternoon rush had come and gone—and so far, no tall coffee-drinking prince in sight.
“Maybe you scared him away,” Hyukjae teased, sweeping the floor. “With your too-sunny personality. He seems the type to hide in the shadows.”
“Stop calling him a shadow-dweller,” Donghae whined, tossing a plastic straw at his friend, frowning when it missed its target. “He probably just got busy or something. He’s come later in the day before.”
“Orrrr you scared him away,” Hyukjae shrugged, grinning at the pout he earned. “Because he’s socially inept.”
The brunette rolled his eyes, lips pressing into a thin, hard line at the joke, as always. Teeth clenched as his jaw grinded, anger flaring. It was too easy. Hyukjae could (and often did) do this all day.
“He’s not socially inept. We just don’t know each other well enough to converse.”
