Love Formula
Description
Yongsun’s first love story or Byul’s story of teaching Yong how to love.
Foreword
Since puberty hit her, she knew love is not for her.
Yongsun realized this as soon as her three closest friends in junior high school kept talking about boys to her and she simply did not find it interesting. At first, she denied it by thinking that maybe she’s simply the late-bloomer kind of girl. Through time, she found out about how two girls or two boys could develop romantic feelings towards each other and being an open-minded one, she decided to go for it. Yet, no matter how much she went on a date with anyone, boys or girls, she just found it troublesome. So, she gave up and accepted the fact that she genuinely was just different from other people.
“No lover, yet?” asked Yonghee-Unnie in the middle of their routine of watching movies at night. Without bothering to move her eyes from the screen, the little Yong just shrugged her shoulder casually. Yet, her big sister looked at her in concern.
“Can you just try, little Yong? At least for the sake of having experiences in life.”
“It’s too troublesome, Unnie.” Finally, she glanced at her sister. “You know I’ve tried it so many times before.”
Yonghee-Unnie sighed. “You decide it only from one date. One ing date for each person!”
She chuckled at her big sister’s frustration. “How could I spend my day with someone that makes me uncomfortable?”
“Kid, fated love is only in movies,” Yonghee put her hands on Yong’s shoulders and severely stared at her. “Yong.”
“What?”
“You know, I’m so proud of you, right? You’re 18 and already get into the coolest university of art in South Korea in one try. You’re ing smart and talented human being, so I believe your dream to become one of greatest scriptwriter would be happened in no time, but let’s be ing real. You’re living in South Korea, you’re gonna work from the bottom as someone’s assistant and the biggest probability, you will have to write a love story. How could you when you don’t know how to love?”
Yongsun looked at Yonghee in disappointment . “Unnie, you don’t believe in my imagination?”
After like 5 seconds of staring with each other, Yonghee clicked her tongue in defeat, “Okay. You have a great mind but Little Yong, just try, okay? At least, for me. I don't even care if you will get married in the future or not. I just want you to know the process of being in love with someone else because you need it to survive in this world. I do not say that love is the only important thing in life, but falling in love, experiencing heartbreak, and falling out of love are things that could make you wiser as a person. So, please try?”
She might be a stubborn person. Well, she is. But if there is one person in this world that she’s actually willing to listen to, it will always be Yonghee. “Yes, I will. In two weeks, I’m gonna be a university student and I promise you that as soon as someone confesses their love to me, I will accept it right away.”
“Well, it shouldn’t be that extreme, but yeah, go for it.”
