Yongsun instantly put down her beer glass as soon as the familiar figure broke into the rented private room of her favorite Japanese restaurant with a big cake on her hands. A slightly taller girl with long black-haired is approaching her with a wide grin while singing a silly birthday song. Even with a black suit, the girl still looks cute. It must have been the Indian dimple’s fault. 

Her eleven years best friend who’s also the one that held her heart for almost a decade has sat in front of her while encouraging her to wish for something before she let the birthday girl blow the candles. Yongsun intertwined both of her hands and put her elbows on the table while closing her eyes. 

For the last time, Yongsun said, she will ask the same unfulfilled wish she had prayed for the last 10 years: I wish Moon Byulyi will love me back. 

The thirty years old woman opens her eyes slowly and finds the scene in front of her breath-taking. Her one year younger best friend is staring at her with so much love that Yongsun couldn’t help but wonder that maybe today is the day that her wish will come true. But as soon as she noticed a small red mark under the black shirt on the other girl’s skin, she knew she was wrong. 

To stop herself from feeling blue, she smiled back at the younger ones, “You’re such an . It’s five minutes before my birthday ends, you know.”

Byul broke Yongsun’s intertwined hands and put each of the older girl’s hands into her. She holds it tight, “I’m sorry. Today’s recording was crazy.”

Yongsun curled her lips to mock the other girl, “Well, the hickey is certainly shown how hard you were at working today.”

“”, she pulled out her hands and hiding her neck. Yongsun chuckled at Byul’s panicked face which was being replied by a small pout. “Yah, in my defense, the new singer was the one that initiated the action. How could I, a lover, reject such an invitation from a pretty girl?”

The black bob-haired girl rolls her eyes, “Whatever, Moon Byulyi. I, a loyal friend, have accepted all of you. Even, the ty part.” 

Byul laughs at Yongsun half-truth half joke’s statement, “That’s why, you will always be my favorite girl, Yong.”

“Omo, greasy hamster.”

“Shut up, you know you love me.”

“Tell me, how can I still stay with you?” 

“I don’t even know.” For the very first time, a sincerity shown through the music producer’s words, ”You tell me.” 

The younger one leaned her back on the chair while staring at her intensely. Yongsun gasped at the sudden changing atmosphere. Should she have prolonged this rare moment or should she have stayed with her first plan? The older girl sipped her beer before deciding to stop over-thinking and do the most important plan of tonight. 

“You’re just lucky, I think.” as she put the beer glass down, “Anyway, I want to tell you something.” 

Her best friend raised her eyebrows to show her curiosity.

Yongsun takes a big deep breath before saying the final words, “I’ll move to Japan next month.”
