Chapter Four

Space Between

Slowly opening his eyes, Jimin looked around. ‘Where am I?’ he asked himself in his thoughts. Just then, the nurse came and greeted him. “Hey, it’s good that you’re up. You seem pretty exhausted so just get plenty of rest for now. You are excused for the rest of the class.” Jimin slowly sit up after nodding in response. “That’s odd. I don’t remember  having lack of sleep.” The nurse seems to have heard him and chuckled softly. “It’s not because of that. You seem to be under a lot of stress and that also affected your body. It would be best to not let the stress take over you.” The nurse picked up some documents and turned to him again. “I’ll just go ahead and deliver this to the faculty. Your friend will be coming over here so you can just wait for him. Get some rest, okay?” The nurse repeated before walking out of the infirmary.

‘Stress, huh. That .’ He thought inwardly. It was quiet inside the infirmary. This made Jimin calm down. It was also good that the bed was near the window, this made it easier for him to glance outside and watch as the other students walk and do their own business. He slept for three hours is what he think after glancing at the clock. ‘I guess skipping isn’t bad once in a while.” Jimin was about to lay down again when he heard the door suddenly opening. Jimin’s eyes widened in shock when he saw Jungkook panting while entering the said place. Jimin blinked and watched as Jungkook made his way to Jimin’s bed and settled himself beside him, sitting on the chair.

“What happened to you?” Jimin asked, watching Jungkook catch his breath.

“I had to run as soon as the class was done. I was worried.” He finally managed to answer. Jimin chuckled. “You could’ve taken your time. I’m fine.” Jungkook stared at Jimin for a moment then sighed. “Seriously, if you’re tired get some rest. But it’s a good thing you’re not sick. See! I told you that you need to eat more, you need more energy.” Jimin groaned at the younger for nagging. “This isn’t about eating. Stop scolding.”

“It is.”

“It is not.”

“It is.”

“It is n-“ Jimin was not able to finish his sentence when he saw Taehyung walking towards them with a bento on his hand. “You two, stop bickering.” Taehyung handed the food to Jimin, “Eat this. I still have meeting so I can’t hang.” Taehyung turned his gaze to Jungkook. “Don’t let him leave until he finishes the food.” Taehyung turned to Jimin this time. “Finish it. I’m off.”

“Tae!” Jimin shouted but Taehyung just waved his hand goodbye before walking away, leaving Jimin staring at the food on his lap. “Eat.” Jungkook said and this time, he wasn’t kidding.

Sighing in defeat, Jimin opened the bento and began eating. Jungkook watches as Jimin slowly eats his food. “You should really start taking care of yourself.”

“I’m fine, Jungkook. Stop worrying.” Jimin assured Jungkook, but the younger doesn’t seem to believe it. “Hyung, you rarely go home and when you’re on your condo, you don’t even cook nor bother to buy food outside. How is that alright?” Jimin forgot how observant the younger is. Putting the chopsticks down, Jimin turned his gaze to Jungkook. “I got it. I’m sorry. I’ll properly eat now, okay?” Jungkook nodded in response. He didn’t speak again and let the older finish his food.

It took some time but Jimin finally finished the food that Taehyung brought for him. Jungkook smiled proudly. “Very good! You finished it all.”

“Would you stop that? You look like your kid did something worth praising for. That was a lot though, I had to force myself to finish it.” Flicking Jimin’s forehead, Jungkook replied. “That was not a lot. It was just enough. You just don’t eat a lot and your stomach got used to it.” Jimin winced and rubbed the part where Jungkook flicked. “That ing hurt, Jungkook. Remember that you have inhumane strength.”

Jungkook laughed a bit. “Sorry hyung. Does it still hurt?” He leaned closer and looked at the part where he flicked it. The younger did see a red mark on the older’s forehead. “Sorry hyung, it turned red.”

“Of course it would. Leave it be it’ll be gone soon.” Jimin looked around, “The nurse is still not back, huh. Wonder what’s the hold up.” Jimin didn’t notice but Jungkook’s eyes never left Jimin. As if entranced, Jungkook leaned and left a chaste kiss on the older’s forehead making the other freeze.

“Y-You… What are you doing?” Jimin asked but instead of answering, Jungkook quickly captured Jimin’s lips with his. Jungkook began kissing Jimin hungrily, his hand cupping the older’s face while slowly inserting his tongue inside Jimin’s mouth. Jimin’s trying to resist and break the kiss but to no avail. The younger’s strength was stronger than him after all. With Jungkook’s tongue inside Jimin’s mouth, the younger continues to explore inside. Every second of the kiss, Jungkook couldn’t help but ask for more. Jimin was like a drug that can’t help but continue to consume.

The kiss lasted long enough for the both of them to stop and catch their breaths. Feeling his face heating up, he stared at Jungkook who is currently staring at him like he wants to eat him alive. “Y-You.. Are you pent up?!” Was the question that Jimin came out of his mouth. Jungkook rubbed the back of his and diverted his gaze elsewhere. “N-No hyung, sorry. It’s just you look so good and I wasn’t able to restrain myself.”

“You also bit me yesterday. Now that I think about it, you really have that kind of kink, huh.” Jimin couldn’t help but tease Jimin making the younger cover his face in embarrassment. “No, I don’t! I just can’t help it if it’s you.” Jungkook replied softly.

“Well aren’t you cute. You like making out with me that much, huh?” Jimin smirked, leaning towards Jungkook. “Want me to spoil you a bit?”

Jungkook noticed how the older is taking advantage of the situation. “Hyung don’t tempt me or else I won’t be able to stop myself.” He warned. His restraint is slowly dwindling and he knew that one touch from the older will make him lose his sanity.

Not listening to Jungkook, Jimin pulled the younger on the bed making him settle comfortably. Once Jungkook was sitting on the bed, Jimin sat on top of the younger facing him. The sight is making the younger gulped. “You don’t scare me. Who do you think you are talking to, hm?” Jimin wrapped his arms around Jungkook’s neck, leaning close enough to whisper on Jungkook’s right ear. “Remember what I do before I met you, Jungkook.” Jimin the younger’s ear earning a soft groan from the other.

Jungkook hated it. Every time Jimin makes him remember of the time they met, he hated it. He always wondered what if he never met the older? Who would be the one to satisfy him in his stead? This thoughts made Jungkook’s mood darken. “I’m warning you, hyung.”

Jimin felt delighted and forgot himself of being exhausted. He really likes to rile Jungkook up. Moving closer enough to make their bodies touch each other, Jimin began  landing soft kisses on Jungkook’s face down to his neck. Jungkook hissed at the other’s actions. “Can I leave a mark?” Jimin asked, not bothering to stop leaving kisses on the younger’s body. “Y-Yes.” Jungkook managed to answer making Jimin smile. After earning an approval, Jimin began the Jungkook’s neck hard enough to leave a purplish mark on the skin, once visible he it and looked at Jungkook proudly. “There. Looking good on your skin.”

“. I so want to make out with you right now.” Jimin tilted his head in a cute way while looking at Jungkook, “Why don’t you?”

“I’m seriously stopping myself here because you need some rest.”

“Hm. That . I’m in the mood to let you eat me though.

Jungkook can feel throb making him lower his head and wallow in self restraint. “Hyung, spare me.”

Jimin laughed. “Alright, alright. I understand. Don’t you have class thought? The nurse said I’m excused so I’ll stay here.”

Jungkook sighed in relief. “I do but I wanna skip. Want to stay here with you. You were with Taehyung yesterday so today’s my time now.”

“You know, being with me 24/7 will make you get sick of me.” Jimin said while hugging the younger. “It’s cute that you want to spend time with me but you’ll never know when you might get bored of me and leave.”

“That’s not going to happen.” Jungkook replied without wasting any second. “The more I’m with you, the more I’m bewitched. So that’s not gonna happen.”

Jungkook wrapped his arms around Jimin’s waist and tightened it. Jimin who was hugging the younger smiled faintly. “You will never know what might happen, Jungkook.”

At that moment, Jungkook realized that no matter how much assurance he gives, nothing matters. To Jimin, All of this is temporary. They weren’t even going out in the first place. What they have is purely satisfying each other’s physical needs, it’s not even to the extent of .

The more they are close, the more they become vulnerable. The more they spend time with each other, the more they drown.

“I know. But I’m here right now. That’s what matters.” Was the only words he can say. He felt defeated.

Jungkook was a transfer student and him meeting Jimin was just pure coincidence. Their meeting wasn’t as good as others. After a week of settling at the new school, Jungkook was on his way to the library when he saw Jimin having with one of the students, a higher year to be specific. Once they were found out, the sunbae who Jimin was making out with, quickly walked out and ran away afraid of being caught by other people. Jimin glared at Jungkook. “Tch. Just when everything was going smoothly.” Jungkook’s face turned red when he saw that Jimin was still . Jimin rolled his eyes and quickly wore his pants. While buttoning up his uniform, he walked closer to Jungkook. “You’re the new guy, right?” Jungkook can only nod. “What you saw today will be our little secret, okay?” Jimin smiled innocently but somehow Jungkook can see that the smile Jimin was emitting was also menacing. “Yes, s-secret.” Jimin patted Jungkook’s shoulder after buttoning his uniform. “Good. See you around, newbie.” Jimin whispered to Jungkook’s ear then it after walking away.

Jungkook could feel his face is still heating up. Remembering Jimin, he couldn’t help but be curious.

‘I wonder why he seemed so empty? Like a void that can never be reached.’

Jungkook clenched his fist. Forgetting the errand he had to do, his feet automatically moved on its own and followed Jimin. Ever since that day, a spark had appeared. Jungkook’s life has always been grey. Yet, ever since he met Jimin, even though the path is dark, he can’t help but dig deeper.

He wanted that void. He wanted that darkness. He wanted everything. He wanted ‘him’.
