Bomi was never a relationship person.

Well, she never found herself surrendering to other people, being dependent to them like she would die if she will lose that person.

Even with Chorong before... She never let that simple crush and infatuation turn into obsession or something worst.

Bomi basically knew how to let go.
She knew the line.
She knew the border.
She knew limitation.

She had girlfriends. A lot actually. But other than using each other on bed, there is nothing more than that.

She would stay in that kind of relationship as long as she's satisfied and if not, she would leave. If she got bored, she would leave.

She never thought of eliminating who she was just to please someone. Something like that... A complete surrender of everythi g for that person... Until her mindset towards relationship changed.

Witnessing Eunji and Naeun's relationship for years until the moment they decided to get married changes Bomi's mindset... Bomi realized that relationship can be sometimes amazing.

With the right person. Just a right person.

She witnessed how Eunji changed into a better person not because Naeun wanted her to... But because she wanted to for her wife. Sometimes love can be that sacrifice...

Until one day...

Bomi found herself hoping for one... Wishing that she'll be able to meet someone who will make her sacrifice everything... Not in the worst way but for the best.

Someone who'll make her feel better just being beside that person.

Someone who'll she trust and let herself depend on that person... No matter what.

Love was never been wonderful for Bomi... Witnessing all of her friends meeting their soulmates... And it includes hers.

The one she believed her soulmate met someone else.

Falling for a person deeply realising that she's the only one falling. It torn her into pieces.

Back then, love was never magical for Bomi. It's just allowing misery and pain to take over.

Until that night.

If things go well tomorrow, will you get out with her again?

Will we meet again?

Just one night and the past didn't matter anymore.

--------

That encounter was followed by another one, and another, and another... Until they learned to be comfortable with each other again.

But this time, it's different. Bomi learned being patient once again. Everything should be taken slowly.

It's just... Sometimes, she still sensed some anger from Chorong. Some pain that can't easily vanish just because she's with her again.

The rush of rage that slowly taking over in their conversation occasionally.

A sense that Chorong's act was rehearsed everytime they meet.

How everything was alright at first but in just a few moments, something changes...

How there were moments with Chorong, looking at her as if she's a stranger. Nothing like a girl whom was her bestfriend... Childhood bestfriend.

The old bond, those feelings they both carried. The sensed on belonging and being loved.

It all vanish as they grew older.

Or maybe it vanish when she left Chorong.

"Nothing to say?" Bomi tried to initiate a conversation.

They agreed to have a spontaneous roadtrip going to Bomi's province and now, they were walking in a random park that they saw on their way.

Chorong had been quiet the entire trip, which Bomi assumed that the older girl was just tired and not in a mood.

Their hands occasionally brushing to each other while they walked makes Bomi wanted to hold it and locked it with hers.

But she couldn't... And maybe she shouldn't

The feelings were unlike their first encounter... Their first date that Hayoung set up.

There was something hard to explain and both of them were suffering on it.

Bomi realized that leaving Chorong twice made a huge impact on their relationship... even as bestfriends.

The beat of her heart throbbed on her chest.

She'd been a stupid child way back then, making foolish decisions. Literally destroyed all the connections she had with Chorong... Of course the older girl had every right to be angry.

She'd done what exactly she thought that is better that time... To disappear.

How stupid she'd been.

Knowing that she did it again when they met again as adults. She couldn't help but to put all the blame on herself.

Childhood and adulthood... Both were prone to making stupid decisions.

After that night of their first date, Bomi made a plan. She's not gonna let her slip again.

Remembering how she turned down Chorong the night when the girl tried to reach for her, breaking all the walls, remembering the girl's tears, the girl's last words to her full of determination.

It was the memory that keeps torturing Bomi. No wonder why Chorong had a hard time on giving full trust on her now.

She's not going to hurt Chorong again. And she needs to prove it.

So her plan on marrying Chorong instantly just because the girl is near on her thirty changes.

Bomi changed it. Everything will take time. Chorong need to be healed first. In just simple bonding, a simple date... No need to rush things cause Chorong is worth all the time.

Even if it takes forever. Even if the forgiveness takes longer.

She wanted to be the bestfriend that Chorong lost on their childhood.

She was that person in the first place.

She wants to be the bestfriend that Chorong lost again when she's with someone else.

Bomi wanted to show her that she can be the girl that Chorong can trust.

Chorong turned and stared at the crowded place of the park. There was like a mini event happening but they couldn't see what's happening because of the crowd surrounding on it.

She pulled Bomi towards it to see it properly and realized that it's a marriage proposal...

People were in awe when the girl said yes and the guy cried hardly despite of many people around them.

Chorong smiled, genuinely happy for the engaged couple but it didn't reach her eyes. Then she decided to pull Bomi in some other part of the park and proceed walking as bittersweet memories blurred her gaze for a moment.

If she was younger, she would be excited to witness it. Hoping that in the future, it would be her life too. Precisely as she wanted it to be.

But she's not a dreamer anymore. She's on reality right now.

"When I said, I'll marry you if you're not married at 30." Bomi opened up but Chorong cut her off.

"You don't have to remind me of that promise."

Bomi shut ... Realizing how it's the worst timing for that topic to resurface.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be sharp." Chorong added immediately.

Her hate for Bomi had been a mask, a way to keep the impact of the woman's effect on her. The bitterness she held for a long time was securely anchored inside her, protecting her emotions from further hurt.

But it's still there right? The pain, the hate and bitterness.

No, it's gone. her heart murmured.

It's gone because she wants to try again. Take the risk again.

"I'm a bit tired. Sorry." Chorong stated when she realized that Bomi turned into a statue who silently following her.

"It's okay. Not a big deal." Bomi smiled and put her hands on her pocket. Still she's a step behind Chorong.

"Shall we go back to the car?" Bomi suggested and Chorong agreed.

They continued their trip on the way to Suwon which is Bomi's province.

Silenced settled between them during the first minutes of the trip and Bomi decided to break it.

"Are we... Uhmm good?" Bomi asked, nervousness surrounding her voice and Chorong didn't fail to notice it.

She suddenly felt bad on having Bomi to think that something was wrong.

"Of course. We're good. Just a lot of things on my mind.. Sorry if I get irritated in small things around." Chorong explained and notice how Bomi breathe a sigh of relieve.

"I'll take you to my healing spot... It's just a few minutes walk from my grandparents house... But if you want to rest, you may use..."

"I want to go there." Chorong cut her off and finally Bomi smiled.

"Then we will go there."

-------

They pulled in a parking beside a large farm style house. Chorong couldn't help but to amazed by the surroundings.

As she get out of the car, her eyes lingered in a small lake with an artificial waterfalls.

It's so beautiful that she wanted to cry. Part of her wanted to just stay there and watch the waterfall but a figure of waiting Bomi on her back brought her back to reality.

"This is my grandparents house... Hmmm." Bomi glanced left and right but noone is in sight. "I guess they are on the farm." Bomi added as she's looking at her wrist watch.

"Come on in." Bomi called and they headed in the living room.

Since it's just a one day trip, they didn't bring a lot of things. Just one set of clothing to change later.

Chorong followed and took in the living room, glancing over the house.

Oak furniture and large worn leather couch with a brown armchair then a coffee table. In front of her is a large flat screen TV and beside it are Dvds of different movies. On her left not too far away from her is a fireplace. Above it is Yoon family portrait. Her eyes lingered on it more, staring at the teenager Bomi being sandwich by her siblings.

"Coffee? Juice? Or anything?" Bomi offered.

"Just cold water." Chorong answered.

"Make yourself at home." then Bomi disappeared on her sight.

Chorong took a step glancing on the framed photographs on her right side. Actually, the living room is like a combination of modern and traditional, no wonder just a step away from this house has already a healing feeling. A sense of home.

Chorong let her gaze trail over the photos. It has Bomi's family picture, Bomi and Hayoung in school uniform, Some friends, then Bomi's graduation picture in middle school and college.

She picked the graduation picture one with Bomi smiling widely in the camera while holding her diploma. Chorong couldn't help but to smile... In such a way, it's a sad smile.

"Am I cute?" Bomi appeared all of a sudden that Chorong almost let go of the picture.

"You startled me."

Bomi passed her a glass of water and put the picture frame back to its place. Both of their eyes rest on it as Chorong was drinking.

"It's really a good picture." Chorong commented after. "But I can't help but to hope that I was beside you during that time."

"Yah. What's with the sad face?" Chorong teased as she noticed that Bomi was frozen in her place.

Bomi forced a smile. "It's okay. Let's go?"

"Yeah. Let's go."

------

"This is such a beautiful place."

"Yeah. It's really beautiful." Bomi stood behind Chorong as she walked to the edge of bridge.

The bright sun slid towards horizon, having a calm light on the surface of the lake.

On the other side was the beautiful view of the city.

Chorong's hair was pinned in a loose bun revealing her neck and Bomi fought the urge to backhugged the girl and buried her face on her neck.

Instead, she stood beside Chorong, stared at the view that once healed all her complains in life.

"I like it so much Bomi ah."

"This is where I used to hide when I feel lonely."

Bomi then pulled her to go. "There is another place I want you

Chapter 12: I am back to say this is one of my favourite stories, have I mentioned that before? Reading it again, ahh, fluffy~~ ^o^ beautiful, I love it.. all those scenes, feelings, hints and what they kept from each other through those years. Chorong's chase, Bomi running away.. Everything is handled so delicately when they meet again, I can feel all those careful emotions and it's just so wonderful.. which is why I must always thank you for keeping this story here, and your other stories. Even if it's just me, I come back to be warmed and re-inspired and it helps, it helps a lot <3

Chapter 12: Awesome work.. there's so many killer parts.. I like the way you portrayed the worries of being gay, if not giving the other a wedding that most girls would have wished for.. that was deep!

Chapter 12: These feelings. Omo. This was absolutely wonderful.. What an amazing end to this story! How do I express myself.. It's just so lovely my heart is sobbing a little. You write about their families so well and it's heartwarming how they love the girls: how Bomi's father is cheeky, I'm dying at that chicken xD, the story behind their ring, "I have to please them so they will give you to me", how Chorong wondered if her father said something-- There's too many points to love!! I adore the dialogue and how comfortable it is~ I can just hear it in my mind. And the meaning of the story on age and deadlines, it all wrapped up well in full circle. We've followed the story from the worry and promise of a deadline, to one where those ideal future deadlines only exist in the mind, more important to have found someone to love honestly.

Congratulations on another story well done!! Its balance in fluff and angst as well as the romantic tension between chobom makes this a favourite of mine~ Thank you for writing it all, ChobomPanda authornim :)
