Chapter 2
You're My DeadlineAfter the wedding, Chorong made sure that Bomi and her would save time to catch up with each other again. Even with just once a month bond, or once every two months. It's enough for her.
When she learned that Bomi moved to Seoul again for her work, she realized how she tried so hard to enter in Bomi's life again. Even if she already sensed that Bomi had no plan to show herself to her again after that day.
But their small conversation changed it. They decided to meet again after a week.
It's just a simple picnic in Bomi's favorite hangout place, Han river. Chorong cooked for the both of them while Bomi is in charged of buying snacks like iced coffee and some bread.
"Ah. All grown up, time passed by that fast." Bomi stated, while appreciating the food that Chorong cooked.
Bomi looked at her. For a moment, Chorong only saw a stranger. Nothing like a girl she'd once thought of as her bestfriend.
Bomi's eyes narrowed, something strucks between them. Their old bonds, the feeling she'd carried through her childhood.
Chorong only managed to nod. If she started to talk, she might yell, or blame Bomi for leaving. If she just look at her, Bomi might see the longingness on her eyes.
And then Bomi would realize what she'd done to her.
After eating they took a walk in the river. Appreciating the sight, appreciating people around them, mostly a family having picnic together.
"Nothing to say? I don't remember you as a silent person, you're always talkative." Bomi teased.
"So you're back for good?"
"I'm working here... I think so."
"Good for you." Chorong couldn't think of anything to say. And just let do the talking...
"I asked. Just in case you'll leave again, atleast I'm prepared."
The accusation stopped Bomi cold. Turning to Chorong, she met her gaze. "I'm not leaving."
Walking with a measured pace, Chorong tried to impose a tight ball of discipline to herself. She stopped by the fountain, dipping her hand in the water, praying it would help her to calm down.
"Are you sure you really wanted to spend time with me today?" Bomi asked.
"I thought we were catching up."
"It's just I'm detecting an irritation on you whenever I talked." Bomi reasoned.
"Not true."
"Or dislike."
Chorong managed to laugh. "Why would I dislike you? I don't even know you."
"We grew up together."
"That was a long time ago. It's more than a decade since you left without a word."
Bomi stayed quiet. The harshness in Chorong's tone cut through the air.
"Sorry. Did I sound too harsh?" Chorong apologized, and forced herself to give a steely smile.
"It's okay I deserved it." although Bomi is putting a good front, her words were filled with pain.
A silence settled between them, both minds were drifted into their childhood days. Maybe they were just a child way back then. It's not too much if they hope to experience it again right. Their childhood.
But one thing is so sure. There is still hope to save their friendship.
And that one day bond is followed by another one, and another, and another... Until they managed to learn more about each other again. On how they realized they had grown up. On how was their lives without each other. And how it changed them.
2 years later~~
Chorong woke up the same, doing her morning routines. But one thing is that she wanted something different that day.
Something to improve herself. She quickly cooked her own breakfast after she showered. She wanted to accomplish something before Changsub arrived to celebrate his birthday with her.
She met Changsub two years ago, during a company outing and like it's a simple love story in movies, they clicked so well. But she never saw him as a man before, as he has a lot of girls around him.
Although she enjoys his company, they remained good friends...
Not when Changsub started to change himself for her. Rather than staying on being carefree and happy go lucky man... The moment Changsub took over in their family business, the man forgets his night life and such things, focusing merely on business and having Chorong as a good companion occassionally.
They got closer as time passes by... Relating to each other in terms of business.
Changsub is a good man.
Bomi's voice suddenly hits Chorong with that statement... That's all Bomi said when she introduced him to her and asked for her opinion after.
Her bond with Bomi remained as it is, occassionally spending time together when they are both available. Just a spontaneous bonding like whatever the both of them will come up with.
But the line remain on how it is. Unlike a real couple, who basically spend more time with each other, they both retain that wall. Believing that both of them are not that into each other. They even talked about guys, like how they used to.
There's a certain line that should not be crossed. Unless??
But like what Chorong had said before, she would be probably married when the right time comes... That deadline... Because things just happens like how she wants it too.
Cause right at the moment, she's dating someone.
"Tell me something more about him?" Bomi suggested.
They were spending time on Chorong's apartment to watch movie together, but it end up having
