Chapter 3
You're My DeadlineWith Chorong on the driver's seat, heading to her apartment, Bomi stayed silent. Afraid that Chorong would purposely bumped the car into a tree due to too much anger to her.
As they entered her apartment, Bomi clasped her hand together, worried that Chorong will fight her for this.
"So what was that? What the hell are you doing?"
"Uhmm." Bomi gulped hard, with the dagger stare she's receiving, how will she be able to speak properly? "I'm ... Just ... Having fun?"
Chorong's jaw dropped. It's just one of those moments that Bomi felt scared towards the older girl. She never seen her shocked into speechlessness. Maybe Chorong will never understand her lifestyle as the girl is already settled in just one person.
"Unnie."
Bomi yelped when Chorong suddenly grabbed her arms and threw her on the sofa.
This is the first time Chorong loses temper to her. Not during their childhood days, not even when they'd met again, only this moment.
"With a woman, really Bomi?" she asked with a clenched teeth.
Bomi in breath, it's time ... No, she needed... To make things right.
"I-I want to try."
Lies.
Chorong leaned close and Bomi's heart thudded in her ribcage.
A close up Chorong overwhelmed her. Just like the old times... Like how it was before, like how it is always...
But the fierce look on Chorong's eyes lit a dark desire that filled her with shame.
"With a you met on the bar?" Chorong tried so hard not to curse but she couldn't help it.
Bomi looked away. "Don't label someone a when you haven't even meet her."
"And you know, it's better like that. I'm getting older too, it is wrong to try to find someone." she continued.
"A woman??" Chorong repeated... Delicately.
"I'm gay. can't you see it? I even suggested to marry you!" she avoided Chorong's gaze. "I guess you will never understand. Because you're straight... And settled..."
"Then make me."
"What?"
"Make me understand." Chorong advanced to her and Bomi immediately braced herself. "NO."
Good deeds and manners were thrown out the window when Chorong leaned closer, grabbing her, as the older woman's softness is pressed against her body, filling her with traitorous heat.
"Please, don't." Bomi pleaded in a near sob, turning her head away. One wrong move... Just one wrong move and they would end up in bed. One kiss and they'd be . Everything will be out of control.
"Bomi." Chorong called with a rasp of frustration.
Bomi pushed her lightly, trying her best to ignore the heat that is taking all over her.
"Please." one word and Chorong's eyes soften.
"We can't ... I mean we can't do this..." Chorong pulled away, and the loss of weight over her almost made Bomi weep.
Chorong was stunned. A realization hits her of what she's about to do. She breathe heavily, trying to process or even to think of the right words to say... But what came out from made it more complicated.
"You don't want me?" Chorong asked desperately.
Time was running out to fix things between them. Bomi looked at her, confused. Chorong might have forgotten one important thing that time.
"You're committed."
Oh Right. If Bomi didn't resist... Their wild night would end up in full shame and regret later.
Bomi had always been inlove with Chorong. Infact, the moment she discovered that she's gay is the same moment that she realized she likes her bestfriend... More than a bestfriend...
It's more than just a bond. It's more than just sleepovers and travelling together. She always wants something more.
And it scares her.
Scared of what she just discovered, she hid everything... Hid behind being the ultimate bestfriend whom Chorong can talk to about everything.... Even crushes... Or what we call today as girl's talk.
When she teased Chorong of marriage, it's just an innocent way of teasing the girl... Just a normal friendship behavior of attacking the older girl to annoy her...
They spent their childhood on how a typical childhood friends will... Until Bomi's family had to move in another city.
The night before that she spent her night with Chorong in the latter's room... Just like a typical friday night where they will watch a movie and talk about random things. That time, it's different...
While Chorong was talking about school stuffs like exams that they aced, profs that they hate and of course crushes, Bomi was in deep thought...
She instantly knew two things. She had to stop her ridiculous feelings. And She had to get away from her.
At some point, Chorong had no idea that they met for the last time that night.
Because the day after that. They drifted apart. Months after, even their own family stopped asking why they didn't keep in touch.
Well, it was Bomi's choice not to... Chorong just have to accept it.
Bomi kept distance... In her life...
Even when Bomi moved to Seoul again after graduation, she never tried to find her. Chorong did the same, with the betrayal that she felt when Bomi didn't say a word... And just left...
Bomi's days of running excitedly to Chorong's house turned into hoping that she won't accidentally bumped into her in some restaurant or malls or streets or in everwhere. Bomi tried so hard to avoid places she knew she might see her or someone related to her...
And one day, she failed to.
As she accompanied her mom for the weekly grocery, they bumped into Chorong's sister who's about to get married. A little chitchat about life then she invited her whole family on the wedding... As it's about time to catch up for both families.
Bomi had no plan to attend at all, but when Chorong's sister asked for a reassurance of her attendance, she confirmed.
Other than that, Chorong never left her mind. Of course, Chorong is part of her childhood. It would be hard for her to forget her. So sh
